We have stayed at Acorn Hideaway a few times and each time we are thrilled. There is so much attention to detail that we've come to expect this type of accommodation everywhere (not so lucky, tho). There is sleeping for 6(using the sofa bed), but we have also had a baby in a pack and play. The fact that it is pet friendly is a bonus. And importantly, the cottage is immaculate. It is close to town, the Hearst Castle, wineries, the beach, hiking, shopping and the elephant seals. A wonderful getaway to a wonderful area.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Acorn Hideaway was everything and more that is shown on the pictures and the descriptions. It is a lovely hideaway. It is a central location that you can access the ocean, the town, and route 1 if you are doing some day tours. It was clean and very well maintained. It is located in a beautiful woods location. We were very pleased and would recommend it to anyone that wants to get away, but yet be able to get into town or on the road with ease. We highly recommend the lighthouse tour. We loved Las Cambritos in Cambria. Look for their specials. We had done Hearst many times before, but enjoyed our trips up to the San Simeon area. Can't get much better than this for a small family or couple. It is also pet friendly.Recommended for: Pet owners, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
