We arrived and were awed at this fabulous town house situated at the Palm Bay Beach Club in Great Exuma, The Bahamas. The views across Elizabeth Harbour are breathtaking. Watch the dolphins in the harbour, or the turtles as they come up for air on Hoopers Bay. You can snorkel, swim, hire a boat, dive or just relax in this fantastic island in the sun. Everything was exactly as it should be. The villa is fully kitted out with everything you could possibly want. There are the two en-suite bedrooms to a BBQ/grill that can be used for that idyllic meal on the patio balcony. There is cable TV (mostly US stations), air conditioning, ceiling fans (if you don't like a/c) and a fully fitted full kitchen. Wi-fi Internet is available. There is plenty of light from large windows front and back, and the air circulates through nicely. Watch the sun rise early in the morning from the balcony, a few hours later with a beer in your hand, you can sit and watch the boats coming and going in the bay. It is literally 25 steps to the beach, so at night you can lay in that comfortable bed and listen to the waves lapping on the sand. Absolute bliss. Don't forget your camera and camcorder, there are some amazing photo opportunities. Apart from the resort beach there is the most stupendous natural beach very close by. (You can walk from the resort along the beach to get to it). There are two pools (one of which is 'quiet'). So grab a towel, a chair, a book, your sunglasses and suncream and you will have a suntan in no time at all. There is a nice bar and restaurant on site and two more within close walking distance (less than 100yds), a further group of local eating places is only 5 minutes walk away. It is about 1 mile into Georgetown that has a selection of restaurants and other attractions. To see more of this wonderful island a car is necessary for a couple of days and the rental company is literally just across the street, so fill in the paperwork and away you go. If you don't fancy a car, then bikes can be hired to find your way around this beautiful island. The resort itself is kept immaculate with trimmed native plants and interesting walkways throughout the villas. The staff have all been very polite and helpful. Frankly we would recommend this to anybody looking for a thoroughly relaxing holiday, be they retired, like us, or a family with young children.Did you find this review helpful? Location
Owner info
Year Purchased: 2007
About the owner: My name is Bill Hall. I was born near Manchester, England where I now live with my wife Mavis.
Why the Owner Chose George Town:
We first visited the island in 2007 and enjoyed it so much we bought a property there. The white, sandy, almost deserted beaches were something we had never experienced before. We fell in love with the easy going, laid back lifestyle of the island and the friendliness of the Bahamian people.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
We chose this property because it had been just completed to a high standard. The rooms were spacious and airy and well appointed. The villa is next to the beach with spectacular panoramic views from the balcony. It is only one mile from Georgetown where groceries etc can be purchased.
