What a cozy cottage to relax in after a day of wine tasting nearbyThe photos were spot on, and the place was immaculate. The owners went out of their way to answer any questions or give us advice. The fully stocked kitchen was so nice to prepare dinners but we also had the option of strolling into town to eat there. Izzie the camel loves her carrots as do the horses that accompany her. Thank you for providing such a charming place to stay. I would recommend this wonderful home to visit.

We arrived in the evening just in time to watch the sunset. Without grand expectations, we opened the door to the collage and went inside. We were completely taken by surprise. The pictures online are just a teaser to this beautifully, well-put-together cottage! You must see it for yourself. This cottage has much more of everything one would want or need…a full kitchen (stocked with wine), laundry room, two good-size bedrooms (the beds are just right for a great night’s sleep), two full bathrooms, lots of room to unload your bags after a long day of travel and fall into the large comfortable furniture. Two things that you’ll notice right away during your stay at this cottage; first, it is SO QUIET you can truly relax … the only sound you’ll hear is the calm peaceful hush of wind blowing through the large trees surrounding the cottage (I would recommend opening the windows to let the cool breeze flow in), the second thing you notice is after that perfect sunset in the evening… at night you can see the stars like never before– far deep into the night sky! After a great night’s sleep, take the short walk to Main Street, downtown Waitsburg and take in as much of the diverse shops, restaurants, stores, art galleries, and bars you can during your stay. Not only will you enjoy some of the best food and shopping downtown has to offer, the people of Waitsburg are the most gracious, friendly, and down-to-earth as you’ll find. Our only complaint was that we wish we would have scheduled more time to stay in this tranquil cottage!

This tasteful, well-appointed cottage was perfect for our long birthday weekend celebration. We appreciated the thoughtfully outfitted kitchen, comfortable rooms and private side yard. Nothing was lacking. Waitsburg is a great base for exploring Palouse Falls and Walla Walla. The cottage is an easy, pleasant walk to the Whoopmeup Cafe, a must for dinner and the friendly Coppei Cafe for lunch. Three Maples is a stylish getaway for enjoying a small town's relaxed pace and the beauty of eastern Washington.

Recently our trips to the Walla Walla wine country have settled on the wonderful town of Waitsburg. The attractions include great restaurants like the Whoop-em-up and the JImgerman bar as well as beautiful accommodations provided by the Three Maples Cottage. Our stay at the cottage was a joy! The cottage is newly renovated and impeccably clean. The owners, Paul and Karen who live nearby, provided exceptional hospitality stocking the kitchen with coffee, wine, muffins etc and making sure we had everything we needed. The cottage is luxurious and private. It has two spacious bedrooms each with a private bath. We are picky about our bedding and were pleased with both the comfort of the bed and the quality of the linens. There are beautiful indoor and outdoor areas to relax, comfortable overstuffed furniture, a generous dining area, patio furniture and a yard big enough to set up a badminton court. Located on a quiet residential street, the cottage is a short walk to downtown Waitsburg or a 20 minute drive through gorgeous countryside to Walla Walla wine country. Paul and Karen are very knowledgeable about wines and are a wonderful resource for planning your Walla Walla wine tasting excursion. We are looking forward to our next visit to Waitsburg and the Three Maples Cottage.

We spent three wonderful nights with friends at the 3 Maples cottages in Waitsburg! At first I was a little hesitant as it seemed a long distance from Walla Walla - quite the contrary as Waitsburg was reallty the place to be! We were so impressed with the cottage - "Pottery Barn meets farm country". It was beautifully appointed, so comfortable, and I only regret that we didn't make use of the large, well stocked kitchen. Karen was a gracious hostess and always available for ideas about what to do in town: dine at the jimgerman for sure and sit at the end of the bar and don't miss dinner at the fabulous Whoop em' up hollow cafe, all a nice stroll from the cottage. The drive into Walla Walla is quick and the scenery is beautiful! Looking forward to coming back with a group of friends and renting out both cottages as there is a lot more to enjoy that one can pack into a long weekend. Thanks Karen!

The 3 Maples Cottage is really quite sweet and has all amenities you could possibly want including a wine rack stocked with wine! Comfy invitingbeds and one of the bathrooms has a clawfoot bathtub that invites a good long soak after a visit to the vineyards and local farms. And you can walk to downtown Waitsburg to chek out JimGermanBar, the Whoop 'em Up and Anchor Bar. Walla Walla is 17 miles away so very doable. The countryside of Waitsburg is glorious to watch as the sun rises and sun sets. Big on charm, cool people and surprisingly terrific food and drink. I'm ready to go back an dmake 3 Maples my 2nd home.

For our first trip to Walla Walla we decided to stay in this adorable house in Waitsburg and were very glad we did. It was a scenic 20 drive to Waitsburg from Walla Walla and the town could not have been more relaxing or welcoming. The house was perfect for our needs -- very cozy, new homey decor and very clean. Plus coffee fixings and cinnamon bread and butter available for breakfast. We were so comfortable there, we actually didn't leave Waitsburg our last day except to drive up the road to the fromagerie for some fabulous cheese. Karen and Paul were delightful and available for questions and suggestions. We're planning a fall trip and will definitely stay there again!

The cottage has been beautifully restored; it has wood floors; 2 bedrooms with comfortable queen beds -- each with its own bath (a walk-in shower in one bathroom and a claw foot tub in the other); a comfortable living room; dining area; and fully stocked kitchen. Wireless internet, flat screen TV, AC, BBQ, games, books, etc. Everything is new and spotlessly clean. It is not a large house, but is very very cozy and really comfortable. Perfect for 1 or 2 couples. The pictures on the website do not do justice to how charming this place is. Karen was extremely welcoming and helpful. She and her husband live across the street, and are there for you if needed. Communication could not have been easier, or more professional. Don't hesitate to ask Karen for recommendations for dinner, wine tasting, or sites to visit. It is just a couple of blocks to downtown Waitsburg and is 20 miles from Walla Walla. Waitsburg has a couple of good places to eat (with more on the way), and is surrounded by rolling Wheat Fields. The surrounding roads make for excellent bike riding and running. If the weather is good, bring your bike, and enjoy the ride! This place is awesome!

Owner response: THANK YOU so very much for your wonderful words!! We are delighted you enjoyed your time in Waitsburg, and truly look forward to your next visit. best to you both! K

Stayed here with a friend (me, New York; he, Oregon) while visiting other friends in Waitsburg. We were both delighted with the bedrooms/baths. The living area is charming and fully functional for as little or as much staying in/cooking as you like (including the brand new barbeque) and the area is a delightful point of departure for exploring a truly lovely part of the country (this from someone who lives in a truly lovely and rural part of upstate NY). Waitsburg is cute, has a great restaurant and bar if you want to stay close, and i saw several projects fully underway (50's diner, coffee house, "workman's bar") opening soon that will add much to the 2 block "downtown". Walla Walla ("it's so nice they named it twice": I love that) is easy to get to, has everything you need for shops/activities/restaurants if you can tear yourself away from the restful, peaceful ambience of Waitsburg. Paul and Karen are superior hosts, can give excellent insider tips to local activities and points of interest (make a point of visiting the Monteillet fromagerie, and do the tasting), obviously with an insiders view of the local and regional wine industry. VBRO has a list of suggested questions to reference when writing a review: here goes. Description accurate? Precisely Photos accurate? Yes. Cuter than the photos, actually. Clean? Spotless. Everything new. Owners helpful? Very. Recommend? Absolutely Nearby acivities? Great walking town. Whoopemup Cafe. jimgermanbar. Monteillet fromagerie. Wine touring. Drive to Walla Walla, multiple activities.

Getting off the beaten path is always a good idea and for us it means not staying in a hotel but rather finding a gem of a place that is quiet and comfortable and you know it's just going to get better as time goes on. The owners took an older home and turned it into this great get-away that is perfect for two couples and excellent for one - which we were during our stay. We liked the comfy bed, big roomy shower, and well appointed kitchen which featured a wine rack full of wine! It's an honor system of take one leave one but if you show up with none you can still crack open a bottle and pick one up to replace it the next day as you're out visiting wineries. The owners live nearby and if her own garden is any indication of what the 3 Maples is going to look like I am looking forward to a return visit when all is in place and in bloom. Should be stunning. Also, the town of Waitsburg is pretty cool for a small town with some wonderful places to dine and beautiful views to look at. I'd like to see a couple of pump bikes added to place. Waitsburg is really flat and it would be fun to cycle leisurely around town. But in the meantime I'll settle for the big comfy couch in the living room, a glass of wine with a big nose, and a movie. We really enjoyed our stay and are happy to find yet another wonderful place off the beaten path but just a short jaunt from Walla Walla and all that that of Washington state has to offer.

I stayed at this delightful cottage with my wife and two friends from France. The purpose of our visit was primarily to taste the undiscovered winery gems of the Walla Walla valley and to attend the annual Cayuse release party. The place was adorable and each room had an attached bathroom. The ownrers, Paul and Karen, directed us to some awesome wineries to which we had not been previously. Waitsburg is a refreshing alternative to downtown Walla Walla, with it's charning shops, bars, and surrounding coutryside. My wife and I are planning a return trip in the fall, assuming they aren't booked up through the end of the year!
