  This camp was exactly as described. There were no "surprises". It was clean and had all the conveniences we needed for a relaxing week stay. Fish off the dock or just read a book. The sunrises and sunsets were the best - just sitting on the dock with a cocktail in the late afternoon was just what the doctor ordered. The camp is on Fish Creek Pond near an outlet to the "big lake" of Upper Saranac. Half hour drive to Placid. The owner was very professional and very good to deal with. Highly recommend this location.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

  We spent a very nice week at Camp Pinecone with our son, his wife and 3 teenagers. Everything was clean, neat and spacious for our group. Swimming off the dock was a favorite activity, as was sailing, canoeing and fishing. We found many interesting places to visit in the area, such as White Pine Camp, Saranac Lake, Lake Placid, Paul Smiths visitor center and hiking up Arab Mountain. We would certainly recommend Camp Pinecone to anyone who is looking for a lakeside rental.

  We spent a wonderful week at this camp just off Saranac Lake. We used to camp at nearby Fishcreek campground and this had all the conveniences of a wonderful home and all the elements of being outdoors on a lake. We kayaked and hiked nearly every day but if you are less active you could easily sit on the dock or outside by the fireplace and just relax. The sun sets over the lake. The house had all the conveniences we could want. The pictures do not do justice to what a great place this is. We would certainly recommend it an hope to return.

  We just finished spending two weeks at Camp Pinecone on Fish Creek Ponds. The property is immaculate, well cared for and cozy. Beautiful landscaping is not shown in pictures. We brought a motor boat which we were able to launch at the association private boat launch just down the street. When the wide water of Upper Saranac was rough with white caps, Fish Creek Pond is calm with several loons, and their babies right off the dock. There is a connecting channel which goes out to Upper Saranac very close to the cottage. A short canoe or kayak paddle takes you to a stream which goes under Route 30 and into another breathtaking pond where there are secluded islands, some with remote campsites and miles of paddling. There is a pizza place, a general store, morning coffee and paper (unheard of on most of Upper Saranac), a good marina, an ice cream stand, a beautiful bike trail, all within a very short distance. We attended the church service on Chapel Island which was an incredible experience. The cottage is 20 minutes from Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake village, 25 minutes from Lake Placid,10 minutes from the Saranac Inn golf course, 15 minutes from the airport. The owners are delightful and helpful. I am going to miss waking up to the loons....beautiful spot.
