About the owner: David is originally from South Wales and his parents live in the nearby village of Fishguard. Karen and David live in Canada and travel to this home each year for extended trips to enjoy the relaxing lifestyle and surroundings of Goodwick. David and Karen have two children, now at university in Canada, but all try to go to Goodwick as a family each year. They go for long walks to local beauty spots and enjoy evenings locally at the nearby pubs or at the Fishguard Bay Hotel for dinner. This hotel is an old fashioned hotel located near the ferry terminal with Stena Ferries, which offer daily sailings to Rosslare in Ireland. The local people of Goodwick and Fishguard are very welcoming and hospitable, and they help make the whole visit to Goodwick enjoyable for David and Karen.
Why the Owner Chose Pembroke:
The location of the house is so convenient for David and Karen as it has easy access to the Fishguard train station and they can get there from London, Paddington station after a flight from Canada. This part of West Wales has beautiful scenery with many different hiking paths to access.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Comfortable house with central location in the village of Goodwick. There is a Tesco express 5 minutes away which is open late if you forget any supplies at the local grocery store. Near to hiking paths with different challenges. Public transport nearby, both bus and trains. The local pub, which has pool table, darts and some quiz nights, is located on the main street. Other pub on the corner with a very good chip shop across the road. Very close to the beach and there is a nice breakwater to walk on and get the beautiful views of both villages of Fishguard and Goodwick. Near to Lower town of Fishguard, with lovely harbour with beautiful views of fishing boats and sailing boats. Short drive to little villages with good restaurants. The blue stones of Pembrokeshire can be seen in the nearby mountains and there is the ancient druid burial ground of Pentre Ifan nearby, which dates from 3,500 B.C. Enjoy sitting at the side of the house, some folding lawn chairs are available, for some quiet outside time next to the house, or picnic at the seafront five minutes from the house.
