Make Bonefish Cottage Your Bahamas Adventure Headquarters

Explore this Bahamas Out Island from our brand new home just completed in Spring, 2011. You will find plenty of room to enjoy your stay in Bonefish Cottage’s 1,900+ sq.ft. with its bright, cheerful, airy Caribbean atmosphere. Built by one of the leading local contractors, the island-style cottage will surround you with high quality workmanship decorated with all new wicker furniture and tropical-motif upholstery throughout. The two bedrooms (one with queen bed, the other with twin beds) and two baths are separated by a great room that includes a fully equipped kitchen, sitting area with flat screen TV, dining area with glass-top table and chairs, and a pantry with ample storage space and stacked washer/dryer for your use. But perhaps your favorite part of the house will be the over-sized front porch with its own wicker-furnished sitting and dining areas where you can begin your day outdoors with your morning coffee and end it gazing at the stars with your favorite rum beverage.
Bonefish Cottage is located on appropriately-named Panorama Road with views of both the Atlantic and Caribbean. Large sliding glass doors on both the ocean- and sea-facing-sides of the house let you enjoy the views and the breeze from our ridge-top location. To compliment the sea breeze, you will find ceiling fans throughout the house and air conditioning in the bedrooms.
Only 15 minutes north of Governors Harbour Airport, Bonefish Cottage is in a prefect location from which to explore Eleuthera. An Atlantic and a Caribbean beach are both within walking distance and a short drive will get you to more pink-sand beaches, prime snorkeling, productive bonefish flats, and what many consider the best surfing in the Caribbean. Restaurants and basic groceries are minutes away.
We originally came to Eleuthera for the bonefishing. We will be glad to provide information on guides, tackle and places to go if you are interested. Now we come to stroll on the island’s countless beaches, collect shells and sea glass delivered by the waves (Bonefish Cottage’s library includes several reference books on both for your use along with “Elusive Beaches of Eleuthera” to get you headed in the right direction), snorkel in the gin-clear water (basic gear provided), explore the back roads to discover yet another beach or cliff-top vista, dine on the unique local restaurant cuisine or cook up a feast back home in your kitchen (lobster, stone crab, conch and grouper are a few of our favorites you can purchase right off the fisherman’s boat), learn about the island’s fascinating natural history and visit with some of the most friendly people you will find anywhere in the world. We have not tried the surfing yet but Surfer Pete in Gregory Town can fill you in on the surf breaks and provide rental equipment. Do all this and whatever other island activities you wish to experience from the comfort and convenience of Bonefish Cottage. But be warned – you cannot do it all on your first visit. We will look forward to welcoming you back to Eleuthera and Bonefish Cottage!

Just returned from a wonderful getaway at Bonefish Cottage in Rainbow Bay, Eleuthera - what a great experience! The best of both worlds, Bonefish Cottage offers you a view of the Caribbean from the front porch and a view of the Atlantic from the back. The same front porch offers spectacular sunset views and the perfect spot for drinks or an afternoon nap - take your pick. I thoroughly enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere Bonefish Cottage offers and found it to be well supplied with all the necessities plus a great deal of character. It is located near some really great restaurants - never met a meal I didn't like - and is also close to several picturesque settlements. I highly recommend Bonefish Cottage for your next vacation - you won't be disappointed!Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We are so glad you enjoyed Eleuthera and your stay at Bonefish Cottage. We do hope you will return soon.

We found this to be a very spacious and comfortable holiday home in a great location. There were very good, prompt communications with the owners prior to arrival Many thoughtful items such as snorkeling gear, books, games and sat TV were available for use. The inclusion of a cell phone for use during our stay was very useful. The information booklet prepared by the owners was very informative. The barbecue on the verandah was an asset. Proximity to beaches, restaurants and shops was good but a car is necessary to get around. Governor's Harbour Library was visited often for internet and good information from the librarians. We would recommend a meal at the Sunset Inn Restaurant and the local fish fry on Fridays at Governors Harbour. Rainbow Beach was close enough to walk to and was a good place to spend some time. Excursions to Harbour Island, Spanish Wells and Preachers cave were good day trips.Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for the kind review. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at Bonefish Cottage and enjoyed the island of Eleuthera. Please plan to stay with us when you return to the island.

We had a "girls getaway" week at Bonefish Cottage and loved every minute of it. The cottage is beautiful, well furnished, and very comfortable for four of us gals. We enjoyed exploring the island, the restaurants, and particularly the beaches--they are beautiful. The natural, undisturbed beauty of the island was a wonderful surprise. The island is not commercialized at all, and the residents are very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Bonefish Cottage on Eleuthera for a wonderful "laid-back", peaceful vacation.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for you kind review! I hope you will return to Eleuthera and Bonefish Cottage.

We stayed at Bonefish from 21-29 Dec. 2011. The cottage was exactly as advertised and the pictures are accurate. The cottage was immaculately clean and very well equipped. Both the owner and the local manager were extremely helpful and insured that we had a very pleasant stay. We highly recommend this cottage. Eleuthera is a good island for a laid back vacation and Bonefish Cottage is a great place to experience it.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Thanks to Freddie, the local manager of the property, we arranged the entire holiday in about two hours.Once landed in Eleuthera North Airport we reached the cottage by car in about 20 min. Photos perfectly reflect the cottage status, clean , well maintained, with full options. The cottage location is very quiet ,near to one of the most famous and beautiful island's beach, Rainbow beach. Here you can have fun diving in a very warm water and see a lot of fish. In 15 minutes you can reach the wonderful SKYBEACH ,near Governor's Harbor settlement, were there's an excellent ocean view restaurant. Near the cottage there are few little markets where you can find the essentials. In governor's Harbour ask for the local bakery where you have to try the delicious traditional Raisin Bread. In two minutes you can also find a charming restaurant,Rainbow Inn, where you can amuse whit Live music during dinner. People in Eleuthera are very kind reflecting the true essential caribbean life stile. We enjoy our staying ,and we will recommend it to ours friendsRecommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Enter TextWe are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at Bonefish Cottage and the area of the Bahamas where it is located. You were our very first renters at our new house so we are very happy you liked the cottage and will recommend it to others. Sounds like you packed a lot into your stay but there is so much more to see and do in this area of Eleuthera. We look forward to welcoming you back. As you mentioned we are very fortunate to have Freddie as our caretaker. With him living in Rainbow Bay, he can be very responsive to our guest's needs.
