  My family of four (two adults and two teenagers) spent 5 nights at this very spacious and comfortable home. The owner and his son-in-law were very accommodating and quick to respond with any inquiries. The house has a well-equiped kitchen, washer and dryer, and several TVs. It is conveniently located to both Smuggler's Notch as well as nearby attractions in Stowe or Waterbury (you have to drive around the mountain to get to these areas in the winter as Highway 108 is closed beyond Smuggler's Notch). There is a little grocery store that surprisingly has a wide selection in nearby Jeffersonville and the little town has several nice restaurants (we liked the Main Restaurant and Bakery). This is a wonderful place to stretch out, relax, and enjoy the beautiful Vermont country. We had a fantastic time - Thanks Lenny and Jay!

  First, if your reading this review you probably already realize that vacations houses on the Smuggs side of Mount Mansfield are scarce, 98% of the vaca rentals are on the Stowe side of the mountain. My wife and I were looking forward to some affordable skiing at a challenging mountain, yet with moderate trails for guests and beginners - Smuggs is ideal for that. We found this house and from the first conversation we had with the owner we felt very comfortable. The owner went out of his way to explain and over explain the details of the house and anything he could do to make your stay special (flexible check-in, dates, etc). My overall review is that we had a fantastic time, our guests (visiting relatives) also felt very comfortable at the house, and we would rent again. If you're considering Smugglers Notch for a vacation and have not been to the area, this brief description may help: Smuggs is quiet, has a small town surrounding the resort and the skiing is beginner all the way up to expert. So if you're looking to get your bearings on the slopes, not be over-whelmed or to fight with crowds at the local restaurants, etc and want a relaxing week in VT, this is your mountain. Stowe on the other hand is the tourism hub, it's busy and has everything you could possibly need. The town has a lot going on and the skiing is also great, however pricier.

  We spent almost one month in this charming, well appointed rental that felt like our "Vermont home sweet home" within a matter of hours. The house is fantastically easy to live in with cozy common and private spaces that made being there with our four-person family and our dog... and a weekend visit from a six-person family... totally comfortable. The kitchen, in particular, is great! There is a ton of natural light that comes in the house's great windows. My children loved playing outside -- making snowmen, having snowball fights -- and being able to come back inside to a warm fire. It's a happy, friendly, welcoming place. We were in Vermont to take advantage of skiing at Smugglers Notch. The slopes are about an eight minute drive from the house and we could skiing down the mountain within 15 minutes. The house's location made it easy to take full advantage of our season passes and scoot over for a couple of runs or stay all day. Either way, it was a quick trip home. We also loved having a house that was so close instead of trying to cram into a condo on the resort - plus with our dog... that wasn't possible. The owners made it easy to coordinate our stay and were responsive and helpful. They recommended a fantastic restaurant (158 Main) in downtown Jeffersonville - only a 2-3 minute drive from the house - and a wonderful sledding hill about 25 minutes away. They played "tour guide" ensuring we were set for a great snow-filled vacation. We are already talking about our next trip to Smuggs. We couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. We'll absolutely be back!

  This home is by far the best one I have rented in the area. The home is beautiful, well stocked with everything and the location is close to many different activities, making it a great year round rental. The owners made coordinating the details of our vacation effortless. My family is already looking forward to returning again!

  We come from Coral Gables, Florida to spend the week of Christmas in Vermont. The house was incredible ….super roomy and clean. The kitchen was amazing if you love to cook. The friendliest people ever! We watched lots of movies and our teenage kids had a blast. The SNOW was marvelous... We went skiing, snowshoeing, toured Ben & Jerry's Factory and even had time to drive to Lake Placid, NY to Bobsled. This trip was rated #1 best overall by the whole family.... we will be back soon. Thanks Lenny and Family!

  Stayed in late July, the owner was very accomodating as we did not need a full week. The pictures are accurate and the home is very clean with 2 TVs with Direct TV and Netflix with wireless capability. Master bedroom is downstairs with its own bathroom. Other 2 bedrooms and one bath are upstairs. sleeps 6 easily. Location is on the Smuggs side of the mountain on a side rd 100 yds off the main rd, Rt. 108. In Jeffersonville, about 3 minutes from a good general store and 15 minutes from Smuggs, half hr from Stowe resort. Easy to drive to Stowe or even around the Mtn if wanted. Canoe rental 5-10 minutes away. House overlooks a meadow with clear mountain views. Is on 4 acres so no neighbors to hear, lots of walking oppurtunites. Owner always prompt to answer queries and very helpful in wanting us to have a great time there: gave suggestions and directions even. Washer and Dryer with full Viking appliances in kitchen and even a firepit in back. Did some cooking in order to enjoy the convection type oven. Indeed the owner gave us so much ice cream my 3 kids and I couldnt eat them all in 5 nights!! Area restaurants are pricy but the best meal was at The Family Place in Jeffersonville. Also ate at the Rusty Nail and that was OK, but overpriced a bit. PS Rent a bike and go down the very easy 5 mile Recreation Path in Stowe for a fun afternoon,and bring suits or be ready to jump in the river on the way down.!! Also try the Segways at Smuggs and have a blast!! Thanks, we had a great time and we will be back!!
