Perfect home to enjoy in all seasons! Located on Okemo mountain, our house is less than a 5 minute drive to the base lodge and all the amenities of Jackson Gore, all without every having to leave the mountain.
This is the perfect house for spreading out and entertaining, easily accommodating two families. There is a fully stocked kitchen, living area (each with TV & DVR) and bath on each floor.
The first floor has a game area with bumper pool, foosball and slot machine. A woodburning stove is in this living room. A sliding glass door takes you out to the back yard where you can enjoy a campfire in the pit. Washer, dryer and two bedrooms complete this floor. One bedroom with a single set of bunks and a second with two sets of bunks. Additionally there is a bath with a full-sized tub.
The second floor living living area has a fireplace, dining room (easily seats 10) and opens out to a large deck to enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail. You will find a second fully stocked eat-in kitchen on this floor. Two additional bedrooms with queen-sized beds and bath with full- sized tub. Stairs will lead you up to the loft with two additional queen-sized beds.
For your Summer and Fall pleasure. . . Within a short driving distance you will find Weston, with the Vermont Country Store and Weston Playhouse. Some of the best outlet shopping in Manchester, antiquing, festivals and farmer's markets all along Route 100.
Even closer to home you can enjoy an afternoon at a first class spa at Jackson Gore or The Castle in nearby Proctorsville. Jackson Gore also has weekly outdoor concerts and new 'Timber Ripper' roller coaster. There are hiking trails all over the mountain, including our favorite, the Healdville Trail which takes you all the way to the fire station at the top of Okemo, with picnic areas along the way. For water sports, there is Buttermilk Falls to take a dip, as well as the beach at Lake Rescue with picnic areas. Rent a canoe or kayak for the day on this beautiful lake.
For more adventure there is the Thrill Zone on Bromley Mountain, or rent a mountain bike and take the gondola up to the top of Killington and bike down.

Our experience with this rental was terrific - it was a last minute-rescue after another arrangement had fallen through. The homeowner was helpful, attentive, and quickly responsive. She gladly accommodated our payment requests, even offering options we had not considered because of the last-minute nature of our reservation. She was flexible in terms of both arrival and departure times, and made our travel arrangements much easier because of it. The home is clean, spacious, and as shown in the pictures. It's not formal or fancy but surprisingly comfortable. We were able to entertain, having a large group for dinner, all enjoying the games, the foosball, the bumper pool, the deck, and the fire pit for s'mores at the end of the evening. The house was well stocked with cookware (particularly using the upstairs kitchen as our "cooking central," bedding, and towels. None were fancy, but all were functional. There were more beds and spots for people to sleep than we had people even with extended family - ALL the beds were comfortable and everyone slept soundly. We would surely go back if we find ourselves in this area again. We were there late summer/early fall just before the leaves turned and wished we were there to see how spectacular it would be just a few weeks later. We don't ski anymore, but if we did, this is a terrific location. Our goal this trip was visiting family (plenty of room for LOTS of family) where we could eat in (farm stands and a decent grocery store are just down the hill), and we wanted a place the "kids" (20s) could bring their friends after work. They came, they stayed, and visited some more. It was just right. We didn't see any moose but did see foxes, turkeys, beaver, geese, and loved the crickets.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.

We used this property as "home base" for a family reunion, our party consisted of 14 adults and 2 dogs. The house was exactly as described, very private and clean, great outdoor space. My husband and I have been renting houses for 10 years and this was the best stocked house we've stayed at - paper towels, spices, toilet paper were all there. Our family especially enjoyed the bumper pool table - they stayed up late into the night playing. The owners were very responsive to all questions and a pleasure to work with.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2000
About the owner: We are a skiing family, living in NJ. Some of our favorite vacations have been family ski trips. It was only after buying this house that we found how much Vermont has to offer in the summer.
Why the Owner Chose Ludlow:
We never considered any other place in VT. We have been skiing here since the 1970's. It was only after buying our home we discovered that it is truly a four season place to go. Something is always going on within an easy drive. Having a town like Ludow right at the bottom of the mountain is a definite plus.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We are on a 2 1/2 acre wooded lot on a peaceful cul-de-sac. Located on the mountain, it is an easy drop into town if you need to. At the end of the ski day you can avoid all town traffic because of our on mountain location.
