The House was perfect. Everything that we needed was in the house. Very spacious and more than enough room for a group of 10. Had a great stay and really enjoyed our time here. The top deck on the roof was the best part to me, great view and a really great place to go sit with your friends and relax.Owner response: We've tried to keep the house stocked with everything you might need for home away from home! And the house has room enough to visit with family and friends or retreat to other spaces to rest or get some quiet time!

Our family truly enjoyed this beautiful beach house for our family reunion. We live in Oklahoma and our kids are scattered throughout Texas so this was the perfect place to get together and enjoy each other, the beach, fishing and eating our share of seafood. The house is designed with comfort in mind and is very child friendly. The house decor is fabulous. There are so many wonderful features in the house it is hard to name one as the best. I agree with others that the elevator is a winner. We were there during the Olympics and a lot of us enjoyed the wide screen TV's in all rooms. The observation deck was wonderful in the early morning and evening hours. The kitchen is fully stocked with great cookware etc. The owners are great folks and readily available for any questions you might have. We definitely recommend this home for your family vacation. You will be very pleased!!Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This was our second stay at Village Walk and it was perfect in this home. The home was pristine. Every utensil you needed, every detail was covered. The owner is particularly thoughful as it relates to families with small children. Baby gates are included, as are a myriad of other items for children. As parents to three small children, we realized that we had overpacked, since we are used to having to bring so many things with us. We took good care of the home, as it had of us. We got our complete deposit back quickly, and found the owner a complete pleasure to deal with. My only hesitation in writing this review is that it may make it harder for us to reserve a spot in the future.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

This house was just what we were looking for and more in a late summer get-away. There were 2 families each with two kids and we had more than enough room. It had a neighborhood pool which was great with 4 kids 2 and under....especially days when we wanted to swim but going to the beach wasn't a good idea. On the days we did go to the beach it was literally about a 1 minute drive. The neighborhood didn't have direct beach access, but most will want to drive to this beach anyway. we loaded our crew of kids and all our gear in our van and backed right up to the water. The kitchen was big and we loved sharing meals at the huge dining table. We made good use of the waffle maker. Even though we didn't use them all, TVs in every room was great...and with cable ad blu-ray players. One of the highlights was the 3rd floor/rooftop deck. We spent lots of time up there and took some great photos of sunsets and sea. The beach was one of the nicest we've visited in TX. Even my wife, who is from Miami where beaches are some of the best in the world, was impressed. One thing that was lacking was a way to get from the ground floor to the rest of the house from the inside other than the elevator. Still, the fact that there were 3 levels meant we could get away and have private time when needed. One of the life savers was that Carolyn had a couple of high chairs and pack-n-plays that we used. That meant we could travel much lighter. We hope to return soon.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

This was our first family vacation since having our twins. We took our parents along with other family to help with the kids. I have never been in a more kid friendly environment. Everything was kid proof! They provided gates for all the stairs along with high chairs and pack n plays. I loved the set up of the house! It was perfect for multiple families. We walked away talking about when to book our next stay. I have told all of our friends about this house and will highly recommend it!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had four couples a five year old, a three year old, one year old twin boys and a six month old. This place was made just for us. The bottom suit was perfect for the twins to take a nap without being disturbed. The top family floor had plenty of room for everyone to cook, eat and watch television. A ton of storage throughout. So convenient to have the washer and drier too. We go thru a lot of towels (Which are hotel quality). These people think of everything. It's like they sit or lay down in each room and say, "Ok, if I were staying here what would I want.". It has everything you need! The elevator was wonderful. We didn't have so lug our stuff up and down the stairs. As for the beach. No direct access but It is a super short drive to the beach. In Port A you have to walk across dunes to get to the beach so even if a place says "direct access", it is usually one serious walk. I go to the beach for the day which entails bringing all my "stuff". Driving is so much easier anyway. I would drive whether I had direct access or not. I will definitely be back to visit this place again.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family just spent a week at this house and it was just as pictured and described! We especially loved the big living area, kitchen, and table that was large enough for all of us to eat together. The views were great, too, and coffee on the roof deck every morning was wonderful. There were excellent working baby gates which were very helpful and the elevator was neat and not a problem to keep children out of. All five or our children and seven grandchildren had a great time! The apartment space in the bottom was terrific for our daughter and family and our sons loved the technology in every bedroom! Carolyn was very gracious and great to work with as well. Thank you!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: You are very kind and I do appreciate you taking the time to let folks know about the quality of your stay. The house is big enough for people to spread out and yet go to their room and hide out if they want some privacy. I hope you decide to return next year!

We stayed here with two other couples, their children and our children. While we were a bit crowded in the house, completely due to our own decision to share the house, we had a fabulous time in this beach house. The kids had great fun riding their scooters in the street (the house is in a quiet gated community so there is almost no traffic). The kitchen had everything we needed - with the noted exception of the hard to use coffee maker! ;-) The roof top deck was fantastic! It offered us incredible views and a place to go when the adults wanted to be by ourselves while the kids were playing or watching movies. The owners were so easy to work with and so accommodating. They are obviously beachgoers themselves becuse they had thought of pretty much everything. The house has an outdoor shower to wash off sand and salt water. It has an elevator for taking heavier bags and coolers to the upper floors. It has TVs in most every room, including a big screen in the living room with satellite throughout. Each floor has a deck or patio. The ground floor has its own separate spacious guest suite with a small kitchenette and its own private side entrance. Main downsides: doesn't have its own pool; does not have direct walking access to the beach (but it is VERY close and only a short drive). This house is fantastic, definitely worth a look, and certainly worth the money. Thank you!Recommended for: People with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: I am so glad you and your group had a terrific time in Port Aransas. We want people to love the beach community as much as we do. The pool is outside the front door and about 40 yards up the palm tree lined pathway. The beach drive is less than two minutes away and it is nice to have your cooler and beach chairs and umbrellas with you, so we are ok with the short drive. By the way, we assessed our coffee makers and replaced them with a simpler model. I appreciate the input. Please come back again!

Our extended family spent a long weekend at this house recently & enjoyed every minute of our Port A vacation! The house is extremely clean & well-cared for. Every detail was taken care of from dishes to cooking utensils to colors & coloring books for the little ones to a fully stocked first-aid kit! The owner was very easy to work with throughout our planning as well as our return home. We will definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much Susan for taking the time to share your comments about the vacation home. We really want our visitors to relax when they are away from the stresses of every day life! Come back again.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beach house!! There wasn't a detail missed. Just when you thought, "Wouldn't it be nice if there was a _______, there it was! (We wanted to eat out on one of the balconies that only had chairs. I just happened to open up a closet door next to the balcony, and there were 6 folded TV trays) . We had beach views from every level of the house. The living area and dining area were so open and spacious, that they made for great entertaining. The kitchen was fully stocked with high quality cookware, dishes, glassware and utensils. During our stay, we only dined out twice (The Port A Brewery for the best burgers ever!! and Shells), as dining at the beach house was so much more enjoyable! We had everything we needed to cook, grill and bake. The bedrooms were exceptionally decorated, with the beds and linens being comparable to those found in a luxury hotel. A new pack 'n play with sheets were even provided for our baby. The rooms were spacious, and comfortable. While we typically live out of a suit case when we travel, each of the rooms had so much closet and drawer space, we were able to fully unpack with closet and drawer space left to spare! As a bonus, the house was equipped with an He washer and dryer along with detergent to do our laundry. The only downside to this particular property, is that it doesn't have direct beach access. However, I will say, having a 5 year old and a 5 month baby, I don't think we would have used it much. In Port A, you can drive right on the beach, and the beach access was less than a five minute drive. With all our gear, we would have likely driven even if there had been a board walk with direct access. Once we saw the house, we were glad that we did not not trade all the comfort and amenities of this beach house for a place with direct beach access. (It appeared that most places with direct beach access were condos/hotels). I would definitely recommend this beach house! The next time we go to Port A, we will definitely stay at this beach house again!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your detailed review. I know how hectic it can be with little kids, so I thought it would help not to have to drag a pack n play, high chair, booster seat, baby gates, etc. to the beach! And I do wish we had direct beach access but the condo association has not been able to get it worked out. I do hope they do someday. The 2 minute drive to the beach is not bad though and it is nice to have an umbrella, chairs and a cooler with you for beach comfort anyway. We appreciate your business and do hope you return.

About the owner: We wanted to build a beach home to recall past childhood memories and to bring our own children together for them to enjoy each other, their families, and create childhood memories for them and their children. It takes alot of effort for families to gather all their 'stuff' together, load the car, gather the kids, and head to the beach. But it is totally worth it. The kids won't forget it. I love it when they talk about the beach...and when they fished...and when they rode that wave, and that awful sunburn...all worth it. We trust people to share our home with you so you can relax while you are at the beach in comfort, be close to the water, smell the salt air, throw bread at the birds to catch, and catch some naps. Enjoy yourselves.
Why the Owner Chose Village Walk:
Port Aransas is the same as it was 25 years ago. There are a few more restaurants and condos, but for the most part, it is the same as it was for years. Even the souvenier places look the same. The locals respect the beach and the environment and are stewards of the land protecting it until the visitors come to enjoy it. People speak of Port Aransas in a very loving way and we just wanted to be part of that.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
In two minutes we can be on the beach. We love to get up real early before the sun comes up, grab a cup of coffee, and get to the beach to walk along, drink our coffee and watch the sun come up. Boy is it bright! And the sunset is just plain on fire! Life doesn't get much better than this. Oh yea, and I like to take a Wal Mart beach chair and sit in the waves and let the waves sink the chair into the sand 'till my butt gets wet watching the sunset. It's the best!
