Once you stay here you will know how magical this property is! Perched above Puget Sound on high-bank waterfront, this sweet cabin is located on one of the most coveted shorelines in Kitsap County. Set amongst old growth trees, with eagles' nests on both ends of the quiet neighborhood street (a walkers paradise), this cabin for four is situated on a large sunny lot with both eastern and western exposures. You are just minutes from the quaint town of Kingston and the Washington State ferry, yet it seems like light years from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Walking in it feels like time has stood still. This immaculate little chalet-style cabin is just so cute, and perfect for a romantic weekend for two, or a retreat weekend for four. The main floor is open with the kitchen and vaulted living room (with a fireplace) taking in the waterfront views and the skyline of the city of Seattle across Puget Sound. Downstairs also has a very nice bathroom with a shower, and a private bedroom with a double bed. The cozy loft upstiars is very romantic with a comfy queen size bed and a view of the sound.
Awake to spectacular sunrises above the Cascade mountains as the rays gltter off the Puget Sound shipping lanes and call you out of bed. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee and a bite to eat on the large deck as you plan your day. This is the perfect home base for an activity filled weekend of adventure. Bring your own, or we can arrange for delivery of kayaks, paddleboards, beach cruiser bikes or elliptigo bikes. If you mountain bike, there are countless miles of trails through Pope Resources properties accessible at many points in North Kitsap.
Put your kayaks in the water from the picturesque no-bank private beach (accessed by private road) that goes with the house and head north to Appletree Cove and the Port of Kingston marina. Take a break at the Saturday Kingston Farmer's market (May through September) and buy some fresh, organic fruits and vegetable, or some delectable home-made artisan breads, desserts or cheeses. If you paddle South from your beach, you can explore the shoreline past Camp Indianola and hit the famous Indianola store located at the top of the Indianola dock. Martha Stewart stops there for chocolate chip cookies when in town visiting her friends who live there.
After a fun filled day of discovery, kick back and relax down on the beach, or fire up the barbeque on the fabulous deck up at the cabin. Watch the eagles soar and the ever present boat traffic of the shipping lanes.
By the end of your stay in Palmer's Palace, you may just feel like part of a TV commercial for friends have fun! It is That Good!
Escape from the city, it's so close.......

We had so much fun on our stay at the cabin. The waterfront views from the back deck were amazing and I could have sat out there all day watching the boats sail by. The cabin was very cute and cozy with all of the key amenities. It was very quiet and peaceful - would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We recently stayed at this lovely waterfront cabin, and instantly fell in love it. This charming chalet, was cozy, clean, and had all the amenities needed. The location was perfect, close enough to town to eat at one of the several restaurants, and take in a movie at the Firehouse Theater, yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle. We especially loved our daily walk to the beach. The view of the Puget Sound is absolutely breathtaking. Everything about this sweet cabin, was comfortable. From the beds to the fireside love seat. We did not want to leave, and plan to come back as soon as possible. I am definitely recommending this cabin to friends and family.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you Jodi! I am so glad that you experienced the magic that the cabin holds and enjoyed your stay. Thank you for reccomending it to your friends and family,

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1966
About the owner: The cabin was built in 1966. My parents wanted a place to get away that had no phone and a place they could take family and friends to on weekends. That concept was successful and for the last 45 years and 3 generations later, that rule still applies. We know it will continue with the next generation along with our motto “Welcome, our Home is your Home”. The cabin has an aura that will continue to make great memories, and as owners, we guarantee it will put a spell on you! My husband and I live in Kingston and continue to have cocktail parties, barbeques and enjoy the beach at the cabin. There is nothing more special to me than enjoying my friends and family sharing with them the special ambiance the cabin holds. Our sons have enjoyed spending time here with their friends as well. The memories we have all created here will last for a lifetime. We decided to share our cabin with you. It is immaculately maintained and the landscaping is impeccable. We invite you and your family or friends to come and experience the magical feeling of “Palmer’s Palace” while you enjoy this area of the Pacific Northwest! Sincerely enjoy your stay and cheers! Doug & Heidi
Why the Owner Chose Kingston:
Growing up on Bainbridge Island, the cabin was close enough in distance to enjoy. We spent at least one weekend a month there in the winter and when summer arrived, it wasn’t uncommon to spend 3 day weekends every week for the entire summer. In the early 90’s, my father decided that his wishes were to never sell the cabin. That it would be kept in the family for generations to come and for all to enjoy. Our cabin is almost in its original state. There have been some modifications, but overall the structure has not been changed.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
In the 70’s, it was a weekly ritual for our family to go to the cabin for the weekend. Not only did our family love staying here, our relatives and friends did too. Many of nights the kids would sleep in a tent in the yard or down at the beach. Hours were spent watching ships and boats pass in front of the cabin. We could see them from inside or out on the huge deck that the cabin has always had. In the mornings, we were guaranteed a big breakfast that my mom would cook. After breakfast, everyone who was staying would head to the beach. We would all load up the truck with beach chairs, towels, firewood, ice chests, kids and dogs. We would drive down our private road to the beach and spend the entire day lying in the sun, maintaining a beach fire so we could eat hot dogs for lunch, going swimming, taking long walks on the beach, making forts out of driftwood and playing with our friends. When the sun went behind the trees that meant it was time to load the fire pit with beach wood and have a huge bonfire. After a long day at the beach and fire pit, we all piled back into the truck to head back to the cabin to bed. This routine went on for years. To this day my friends and cousin still remember the good ole days at the cabin.
