The cottage is very comfortable and has top notch amenities. We loved the walks on the fabulous beach, especially at sunset. We had bicycles delivered to the cottage and spent many days exploring the island. We plan to return.Recommended for: Age 55+.

I would recommend this cottage. It was private, on the beach, clean and super cute. It's a great place just for two, which is hard to find in a vacation rental. A lot was there for our use, cleaning supplies, beach towels, beach items (floaties, umbrella, chairs) and lots of kitchen gadgets/supplies. We cooked our dinner on the grill every night and there was a full kitchen. We will be back for sure.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, sightseeing.

From the start of my search I was pleased. We chose the first place we looked at on line. The owner was quick to respond and made certain we understood the terms of the rental. We arrived to the cottage on the tail of Tropical Storm Debby to find the fridge some great iced tea and a note from the owner. Tropical Storm Deb passed and we had 4 wonderful days at the Gulf. We walked, we shelled, we went to some great places to eat (Over Easy Cafe and the Matzluna). We had the best week! We did get a lot of reading done in the cottage and on the beach. This is where we plan to vacation next year.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, girls getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

We just got home from a wonderful 2 weeks at White Caps #7. It was a wonderful stay! We arrived to bottled water and fresh cut watermelon in the refrigerator and fresh flowers on the dining table. It was an absolutely wonderful cottage and area to be on the beach. The beaches were never crowded and everyone we met was very nice. The first week we had beautiful weather and watched dolphins and pelicans everyday as well as a great blue heron who visited us on the beach. There were live sand dollars, starfish, and a manatee swam about 20 feet in front of us one day. The shelling was great. We took a 2 day visit to Key West while we were there and were glad to be back at the little cottage on the beach. The second week the rainy season had begun so the waters were much rougher. We sat on the beach and watched the storms brewing out over the water. You can't let a little weather ruin a vacation. Our favorite place to eat was Doc Fords Rum Bar and Grill. It is close by and the food is absolutely wonderful! You have to get the Key Lime pie there!! We would love to come back to Sanibel and will likely stay here again. It is clean and very well equipped. Betsey is wonderful to deal with and answers emails very quickly!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, families with young children, age 55+, sightseeing.

The cottage was perfect!!! everything you need is available, so bright and clean. If you love the beach you will love this property, great walks on the beach, shelling and bike riding on the numerous paths throughout the island, you will need to either bring your own or rent, but well worth it, you can get to the stores by bike no need to get into the car. We love being able to cook our own meals, have lunch on the beach and a nice dinner at the cottage for a quiet evening. The cottage is like it says in the description, "just steps to the beach". We will be making this a yearly trip, so relaxing, it has taken us all week to get back to reality. We would like to thank Betsy and her husband for making this property available to us to enjoy!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, girls getaway, age 55+.

This place is pure heaven if you love the beach. The description is accurate..it really is only 36 steps to the beach. It is perfect for a romantic get away or a relaxing retreat. Because you are so close to the beach, the sounds are fabulous: the waves hugging the shore as you lay in bed at night; awake to the morning song of the birds. You can walk back for food or drinks or lunch..it is only 36 steps! The condo was exceptionally appointed with everything from beach chairs to shelling nets, paper towels to toilet paper, soap to dishwashering liquid. It is everything the pictures depict...and more because you can't smell the warm salt air in the pictures. Sanibel is the a wonderful walking or biking town, if that adds to your relaxation. It is offers great food. The owners have a book that welcomes you to their condo with their "favorite eateries" listed, including menus, phone numbers and locations. They have thought of everything to turn your visit into "the best you ever had". I will definetely return to this cozy, quiet, beach side retreat.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, girls getaway, age 55+, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2011
About the owner: We live in nearby Fort Myers, FL, but previously lived in Captiva and Sanibel, FL, and purchased the cottage in March 2011.
Why the Owner Chose White Caps Cottages:
We have always loved the Old Florida feel of White Caps cottages. They're right on the beach and we didn't want a high rise. We have a dog, it's the perfect little beach place for a dog. We're close enough to use the cottage when it's not rented.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
We love the mid island location. You're close to everything here. There is a wonderful farmer's market on Sunday's in season. Several restaurants are within walking distance and you can bike everywhere.
