Enjoy all that the year-round fishing village of Southwest Harbor (on the 'quiet side' of MDI) has to offer from this comfortable home. In a lovely neighborhood, you're just a quick walk to the waterfront for a lobster dinner 'in the rough' on the dock or from the shops and restaurants in town. On the first floor you'll find kitchen, dining room, living room, family room, master bedroom with bath. Upstairs, there are two more bedrooms and another bath. You'll spend most of your time on the large deck which overlooks the back yard and has a view of the harbor too! An easy drive to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. You can also hop on the free Island Explorer shuttle bus and travel all over the island. Partial weeks considered in fall season~3 night minimum stay please.

About the owner: Both of us work in the boating field here in the area. We both grew up on the Island and have been on the water all our lives. We enjoy traveling and hope to do more of it!
Why the Owner Chose Southwest Harbor:
We have put our house in the rental market because we have built a new one in the middle of the Island. Both of our families have lived on MDI for several generations in all four towns, as well as on outer islands.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This house was built with an architect and the layout is well thought out. The craftsman style living room with cathedral ceiling and stone fireplace make for a cozy evening in front of the fire. Also, the South facing deck directs the eyes to a large field toward the harbor. Staying here affords a short walk to the two town docks and wharves selling lobsters as well as downtown where there are great shops and restaurants to enjoy, as well as the post office, market, gift shops, and hardware store. The town supports a lovely library as well--all within walking distance.
