Enjoy magnificent views from on top of the world in this fully-equipped, delightful and charming home from atop Hanging Rock Mountain. Watch the sun rise OVER the clouds below you as you relax in our hot tub, enjoy a cup of coffee from the deck, or from the comfort of the living room. Fire up the wood-burning stove for those cool nights, or open the windows to let the breeze in on the summer nights.

Honey Bear House is literally walking distance from Hawksnest resort and just minutes from Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk and Valle Crucis. Wanna ski? Check. Wanna hike? Check. Wanna lounge around and do nothing but just relax in the hot tub? You can do that too.

Families will love the location near snowtubing, ziplining, Grandfather Mountain, gem mining and more. But you don't even have to leave; Honey Bear House is equipped with cable TVs, wi-fi, a DVD player and foosball.

Both bedrooms feature Queen beds with all linens. (There are also two Queen sleeper sofas with linens as well.) A fully-equipped kitchen (completely renovated in April 2011) is longing for a gourmet cook's touch. The home also boasts two full baths and an outdoor hot tub, overlooking the wonderful view.

NOTE: A 4WD vehicle is necessary for the winter visits. A view like this doesn't come easy!

My family and I decided on the Honey Bear cabin for our "before school starts" vacation. The entire family enjoyed the trip! If you want to relax, the cabin is a great place to do that. My family of adventure seekers enjoyed the close proximity to numerous hiking trails, caverns, streams, tourist attractions, and "off the beaten path" places. We all enjoyed viewing the wildlife (turkey and deer) without even leaving the cabin. I can definitely say that we will be back!

Very family friendly and in a great location to easily access all the local attractions. The property was very clean, well maintained, and comfortable. The view from the deck is wonderful and the hot tub was a plus! Our family will definitely plan future vacations that include a stay at the "Honey Bear."

We rented the "Honey Bear" cabin for a special birthday weekend as a family. The view was amazing and the cabin was so nice. It was so cozy and decorated beautifully. The new kitchen was nice too. But the hot tub, view, and game table really made it a special treat. Our daughter love it and we all had a blast. We will definitely be renting this cabin again and will highly recommend it to friends and family. Thanks!

I rented Honey Bear over the Christmas holiday to do a quick ski trip before the New Year and it was absolutely perfect! Close to everything, only 20 minutes to skiing and walking to Hawks Nest tubing! The hot tub was icing on to the cake to soothe our sore muscles from a day on the slopes. Would love to make it back again soon! Thanks Matt and Charity for sharing your home with us.

My family and I (myself and my husband and our 4 kids) greatly enjoyed staying at this house! It was very clean and nicely decorated! We loved the hot tub and the absolutely fabulous views from the deck. It is a great location because it's close to Grandfather Mountain, Linville Caverns, Blowing Rock, Hawksnest, Tweetsie, Mystery Hill, Mast General Store, and Boone. The house was fully stocked and had everything we needed so we didn't have to bring anything. We enjoyed a roaring fire, playing board games (my kids loved the Simpsons chess game that was there), and playing foosball. We will definitely be back for another visit!

A friend and I planned a trip with our children to Seven Devils as a Christmas gift because they had never seen snow. We found Honey Bear house and thought it was too good to be true for the price, but we booked it anyway. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived -- the place is beautiful! Spacious, great views, gorgeous kitchen, stylishly decorated, and did I mention the view? WOW! Our original plan was to go snow tubing and zip lining at Hawks Nest, which is very convenientely located just a short walk down the mountain. Well those plans got nixed when there was a big snow storm, and all the activities at Hawks Nest were canceled due to high winds. The kids were still able to play in the snow outside the house, and we took a trip to Sugar Mountain (which was also very close), but we did end up spending a lot more time than expected inside. It would have been a miserable time but for the quality of the accomodations. We built a fire and hung out in the living room and enjoyed the gorgeous view through the large sliding glass doors. The kids enjoyed the foosball table and TV downstairs, and the adults enjoyed being able to send them downstairs where they could be as loud as the wanted and we could still relax. We hope to be able to come back someday!

The place looks update with solid wood cabinets, wood flooring, Flat screen TV, stainless steel appliances, and wireless internet. Nicely decorated. There is nothing bad I can say bad about the place. For the money you can't beat the location and the stay. There is also fuseball table which we tried out. We did not get to try out the hottub due to the weather, maybe next time. Great places to eat nearby and things to do. There is Troy's diner for breakfast which had excellent southern breakfast. Also Doc's Gem Mine was great place for kids and adults. - I would warn if you go during icy or snow conditions have a All or 4-wheel drive or make sure you have snow chains. You will not regret staying at this place very cosey and peaceful with a touch of technology.

My husband and I spent a wonderful weekend at Honey Bear. The cabin is spacious and tastefully decorated. The views from the large sliding glass doors are amazing. We sat by the fire watching the sun rise over the mountains…beautiful! The hot tub has great views and is private. Great location 10-15 mins. to Boone, Grand Father Mt., Sugar Mt. skiing, and over looks Hawksnesk snow tubing. The cabin had everything we needed to grill out/ cook all of our meals. We are already planning our next trip to Honey Bear with our two kids!

About the owner: We have long enjoyed the beautiful N.C. High Country. We purchased this home so that our growing family can make memories there for a lifetime. We firmly believe you will too in our home.

Why the Owner Chose Seven Devils:
The first thing that drew us to this home was its million dollar view. (The hot tub didn't hurt either!)

This home is ideally situated close to EVERYTHING that we love about the area: it's close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, waterfalls, shopping, hiking, skiing, restaurants, quaint towns, Grandfather Mountain (where we can see, in the words of our oldest daughter, 'cute, little bears'), Tweetsie Railroad and so much more.
