  The cottage was just as described on the website. We had one small issue with the WIFI and it was resolved within minutes. We spent hours sitting out in the yard watching the baby harbour seals play in the tide pools. The binoculars provide made this the highlight of our trip. The Distillery was a frequent stop during the week. We just couldn't get over how breathtaking the views were. Once we returned home, we recommended this cottage to our friends and family. It is a very driveable distance from San Francisco.

  Everything was wonderful. The cottage was just right...the view was overwhelmingly beautiful. A great location to get away. We'll be going again!

  It was love at first sight. The view, the cuteness of the cottage, the smell of the ocean. But walking past junked window screens & overflowing garbage containers near the gate to the main house every day took off the shine. Our extended family rented the big house and one cottage so we went back and forth a lot. Other than that, it was a delightful stay & felt like we were in a different world. Ah, waking up to the sounds & smells of the Pacific is just the best! Will be back again. Hopefully the trash episode is temporary.

  Owner response: aloha Susan, Happy to Hear you would like to return for a visit. We love to hear that from our Guests! Your 6 night visit with your husband, and your mother, along your daughters 7 night visit with her family was during a busy Spring Break! Your original reservation was apparently for your mother only, and you mentioned that you would be visiting her only on the weekend. We did not charge anything extra for those two nights. We expected that you and your husband would just be visiting during only, the weekend. The day your mother Checked in, again we expected that you and your husband would be visiting just two nights. Later, realizing you were staying the entire visit, i decided that I wouldn't charge you our normal fee of $25 per extra person per night . We also had a conversation with your daughter whom was visiting the Beach House about the Extra Garbage that was piling up. We mentioned that we would pick up all of her garbage and put into our Garage , for the very reason you mentioned about the overspill of the garbage. The Racoons are a nuisance in Moss Beach, which i explained and I offered to hold the trash until the Garbage pick up on Tuesday Morning. Your daughter never let us know she put outside Next to the Garbage Can. We had asked her to leave on the front porch, and we would pick it up from her. Needless to say the Racoons had a Feast!! And Im afraid once we found out , we immediately went over to clean up. Unfortunately you had to look at the strewn garbage left behind from the Raccoons, until your daughter let me know the garbage was strewn. I was quite surprised by your mention of the Garbage, the times I dropped by, to put things away (garbage cans on Tues morning) and or ask it things were going well, you Never Mentioned this Item bothered you or any of your Family members. Its quite surprising the guests that don't ask, and don't communicate with us about any concerns during there visit are the guests we have heard from Negatively later. We let All of our guests know where we live, very near by, and leave our numbers to phone us any time with any questions if anything comes up. We are happy to come and help, and we let all of our guests know our priority is there Comfort. If your able to visit again, we hope you feel more comfortable to call us with any concerns for any reason. We are truly happy to help. sincerely ~ carol

  My husbandand I rented this beach cottage for 4 nights it was by far our best get away ever. The comfort and having eveything you could possibly need was fantastic. Perfect place to relax and enjoy the ocean. Can't wait to return. Thanks Carol and Jerome for sharing this place with us.

  My husband and I had the pleasure of spending six nights in this lovely cottage. It is very comfortable and every amenity has been supplied to ensure that. The views of the ocean are fantastic and the cottage is convenient to everything that Moss Beach, Half Moon Bay, and San Francisco have to offer. Highly recommend this cottage for those who are seeking peace, comfort, and a restorative stay!

  My husband and I stayed at Driftwood for four nights and we loved it so much, we didn't wander out much! The view was breathtaking, both during sunset, and at night with the moon reflecting off the water! The ocean waves were beautiful and the sound lulled us to sleep every night! We discovered that the Mavericks surf competition was happening a couple of days after we arrived and on the recommendation from a local at a restaraunt, we went to the grocery store and bought enough groceries to get us by so we wouldn't have to deal with the event traffic. The best part of that was that the cottage provided everything we needed to cook our meals, and it was so cozy! We didn't mind staying in for a day because the view was fantastic, the fire pit was romantic, the weather was perfect, and we could walk to the marine preserve where we spent hours discovering the wildlife in the tide pools and watching the harbor seals sunning! We drove to see the giant redwood trees one day and still returned in time for sunset. This is truly a magical place and we'll be back!

  This place was great. Quiet and restful, great view of ocean. Very romantic and well stocked kitchen. Bed was unbelievably comfortable. We will be back.

  From the moment we opened the gate, we stepped into a world of comfort, peace and pure escape. Carol and Jerome were so welcoming, and I must repeat everything said before us...the cottage is the perfect place to unwind from your world. To hear the waves crashing at night while snuggled in the most comfortable of beds, watch the sun set over the ocean, and then to be literally two minutes from the beach you begin to feel as though you can breathe again. Thank you Carol for all the small touches you created to make our stay so comfortable. You didn't miss a detail. Definitely a place we will return to for years to come. If you want to stay in the feel of a small town, the market in downtown Moss Beach was wonderful and had everything we needed-and the employees were very friendly and fun.
