Our host Mary was extremely helpful from the first inquiry we made until the time we left her apartment. She was always both friendly and professional responding promptly to all the emails we sent and was discreetly available for whatever we needed. Mary offered practical suggestions and left a detailed list of useful information about getting around, where to eat out and where to buy groceries if we wanted to eat in. There was a wonderful market place a few blocks from the apartment with a cornicopia of every imaginable food from exotic fruits and vegetables to bakery items to fish and meats and other important household items. Even though we were late in getting in, we were greeted warmly and our welcome set the tone for our stay. The apartment is well equiped with all the amenities one could expect and felt very much like a home away from home. The two of us were very comfortable. We took 10 days away from Rome and Mary suggested we should keep the keys and leave whatever baggage we wanted at the apartment until our return. If you are looking for a well-located apartment with a congenial host, you could do no better than to choose this one. This was one of the best places we stayed at during our travels.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: I am very happy you had a great time! I love to host and not just rent! I hope to host you again!

We rented a flat from Mary over the internet. She was prompt at getting us information. She made all the arrangements for pick-up and delivery back to the airport. The flat was everything PLUS what she promised. She made are trip EASY, COMFORTABLE and one of the best ever! If you are lucky enough to have this wonderful lady make arrangements for you, you won't be disappointed! We loved our stay in Rome. We attribute much of that the Mary! Thank you - we will definitely stay with you again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

All the suggested areas for evaluation were excellent. The apartment was clean and welll maintained and was all that the VRBO listing said it would be. Mary was there when we arrived to let us inand explain the area. Prior to our arrival we were able to contact her be email and by phone. This apartment was near the metro which fast, clean and simple. The proximate location makes an easy walk with multiple shop and delis to temp one with things of the body while seeking more spiritual venues. The Spagna station is only about about 4 stops away. this is truly a shop til you drop location. Fortunately, the are multiple wine bars to amuse the bored males while having their credit cards tortued. The metro will also take you to the coliseum. There is easy access to the necessities of life. The little corner deli is handy for a quick snack and the owner speaks English There are two supermarkets nearby for more extensive shopping. Resturents abound just ask Mary.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: I will never forget you!! 2 delicious grandparents with 2 enthusiastic girls. It was a pleasure to suggest you how to spend the day, sms and our pleasant conversations worked very well. I hope to see you soon in Rome, or, I wish I could, in your country!!

We loved May's house! So comfortable and welcoming, everything you need and more, even better than described, and a great size. It is within a short walking distance of a metro station, and a comfortable walk to the Vatican. There is a supermarket close by and several cafes. We would stay again for sure and recommend it to families and couples. Thank you, Mary, for your help, too.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Hello beautiful family! I was very happy to have you in my house and I hope to see you again soon! I reccomend you to any owner!

Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Grazie Stefania, sei stata una ospite perfetta e spero di rivederti presto!

We enjoyed our five day stay in Rome IMMENSELY! My wife and two children toured Rome and all its wonders and we couldn't have done it without Mary her this apartment. She gave us very helpful advice on where to go and what to do. We would not recommend driving a car in Rome, the drivers are crazy, the parking is just as crazy and can use up a lot of your precious time just to find a parking spot, and Mary told us that. It is just like she said, situated close to everything you need. We walked one block to the grocery store, 3-4 blocks to an outdoor market. It was several blocks to an ATM for cash withdrawls and several blocks to the train place. That made it convenient. The apartment was all we needed with two bedrooms, a small but well equipped kitchen, a family room with TV and a dining room table next to it. The patio garden was nice as a "wind down area" after a long day walking and touring. A real refuge from the hustle and bustle of Rome. We highly recommend the apartment to anyone looking for a place close in to downtown Rome, but wanting something a little quieter. The upstairs room is great but not set up for infants or very small children.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Harry! I was very happy to help you and to solve problems you had with your credit card! It was nice to hear you ring to my house asking help, you become one of my family! All the best for your job and for your future and I hope to host you again!

If you want to feel like you live in Roma rather than just visiting as a tourist, this is the place for you! It is close to the Vatican and only 5 min to the metro where you can reach all the sites (though we pretty much just walked, its about a hour walk to Trastevere and from there about 20 more min to the Coleseum) yet you live in a real Roman neighborhood. We felt completely safe even returning on foot late at night. There was an open air market very close where we shopped with the Romans and enjoyed the wonderful fresh fruits, vegetables, cheeses, bread, WINE (:-) so characteristic of Europe that you dont see in the states. It was marvelous, and very money-saving to walk all day seeing Rome, eat lunch out and then come back to our own house (with awesome garden patio) to have our fresh market dinner at a lovely table with umbrella amidst ivy and plants - so peaceful. Now about the property itself. First, Mary is a spectacular host. She arranged to have a driver pick us up at the airport for 60 euros (10 more than taxi, yes, however well spent since he was right there to take good care of us). Mary had left the hot water heater on so we could collapse into a very comfortable bed and rest for a few hours (never can sleep in economy on a plane!), get a hot shower and then emerge ready to see Rome. When we met her to pay the rest of the rent she spent time to tell us tips on getting to places in Rome and was very sweet and hospitable. The house itself is adorable, very clean and perfectly kitted out. Mary says she likes to host vs rent and that is exactly how we felt. Every little thing we needed (beyond personal toiletries of course) was there. It was decorated very pleasantly. Sitting in the garden having dinner one night i thought :yep, I could live here forever! It is a 2 level house with a large "master bedroom" and a loft bedroom upstairs with bathroom. Although there was a lot of street noise, the windows are very well insulated so closing them at night left you in blissful peace. We slept really well. Downstairs was a little dining area and living room with sofa in addition to a very functional kitchen with everything you need (microwave, pots, dishes, espresso pots, fridge, dishwasher - even a clothes washer which we used and was very helpful since we were off to Venice and Germany after Rome). Mary also has maps and tour books on the shelf. All in all i was homesick when i left and we WILL return to Roma and Mary! HIGHEST recommendation!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Vanessa! I wait for you soon!!!

With the driver waiting at the airport we arrived very comfortable at Mary's house which is located in a quiet housing area so that you can experience real roman life. In the house you have everything you want in the kitchen, in the bathroom, not to forget the beautiful garden - something incredible in the middle of Rome. Nearby you find public transport (metro and bus), supermarkets and restaurants; it takes only 10 minutes to walk to the Vatican. In addition to the beautiful place I have to mention Mary, a wonderful person who makes you feel at home. She has an answer to all your questions and can help you to find interesting places and informations you don't read in your travel guide. One thing I already know: Our first stay in this place won't be our last ...Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My wife & I spent three wonderful weeks at this apartment. It was exactly as described, the owner and her staff were all so helpful. You couldn't ask for a more convient place to stay in Rome. The Metro stop and the market were within walking distance. The yard and garden were great thanks to the fantastic weather. We used it every day, in the morning for our coffee and in the evening for our glass of wine. Not only would I recommend this to someone else but we are planning a return trip to Rome and hope we are lucky enought to stay there again. Thank you for making our Roman holiday so wonderful John & Marianne Philadelphia PARecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
