If you want to feel like you live in Roma rather than just visiting as a tourist, this is the place for you! It is close to the Vatican and only 5 min to the metro where you can reach all the sites (though we pretty much just walked, its about a hour walk to Trastevere and from there about 20 more min to the Coleseum) yet you live in a real Roman neighborhood. We felt completely safe even returning on foot late at night. There was an open air market very close where we shopped with the Romans and enjoyed the wonderful fresh fruits, vegetables, cheeses, bread, WINE (:-) so characteristic of Europe that you dont see in the states. It was marvelous, and very money-saving to walk all day seeing Rome, eat lunch out and then come back to our own house (with awesome garden patio) to have our fresh market dinner at a lovely table with umbrella amidst ivy and plants - so peaceful. Now about the property itself. First, Mary is a spectacular host. She arranged to have a driver pick us up at the airport for 60 euros (10 more than taxi, yes, however well spent since he was right there to take good care of us). Mary had left the hot water heater on so we could collapse into a very comfortable bed and rest for a few hours (never can sleep in economy on a plane!), get a hot shower and then emerge ready to see Rome. When we met her to pay the rest of the rent she spent time to tell us tips on getting to places in Rome and was very sweet and hospitable. The house itself is adorable, very clean and perfectly kitted out. Mary says she likes to host vs rent and that is exactly how we felt. Every little thing we needed (beyond personal toiletries of course) was there. It was decorated very pleasantly. Sitting in the garden having dinner one night i thought :yep, I could live here forever! It is a 2 level house with a large "master bedroom" and a loft bedroom upstairs with bathroom. Although there was a lot of street noise, the windows are very well insulated so closing them at night left you in blissful peace. We slept really well. Downstairs was a little dining area and living room with sofa in addition to a very functional kitchen with everything you need (microwave, pots, dishes, espresso pots, fridge, dishwasher - even a clothes washer which we used and was very helpful since we were off to Venice and Germany after Rome). Mary also has maps and tour books on the shelf. All in all i was homesick when i left and we WILL return to Roma and Mary! HIGHEST recommendation!!!!

A Great Roman Holiday

My wife & I spent three wonderful weeks at this apartment. It was exactly as described, the owner and her staff were all so helpful. You couldn't ask for a more convient place to stay in Rome. The Metro stop and the market were within walking distance. The yard and garden were great thanks to the fantastic weather. We used it every day, in the morning for our coffee and in the evening for our glass of wine. Not only would I recommend this to someone else but we are planning a return trip to Rome and hope we are lucky enought to stay there again. .My wife and I just spent 3 weeks in Mary's home Sept 15th to Oct 7th. We felt at home from the minute we walked into the private garden. The weather was perfect so we got to use the garden every day for our morning coffee and evening wine and snacks. The location was perfect, the markets and metro stop were so convenient. The description of the apartment was accurate, plenty of room. The property was well maintained and clean. I would not only recommend this apartment to a friend but we are considering returning to Rome and this is where we want to stay. Thank you Mary, Mr Gianni, Pietro and Marta. John V

Feel at home in Rome in a wonderful place with excellent service

With the driver waiting at the airport we arrived very comfortable at Mary's house which is located in a quiet housing area so that you can experience real roman life. In the house you have everything you want in the kitchen, in the bathroom, not to forget the beautiful garden - something incredible in the middle of Rome. Nearby you find public transport (metro and bus), supermarkets and restaurants; it takes only 10 minutes to walk to the Vatican. In addition to the beautiful place I have to mention Mary, a wonderful person who makes you feel at home. She has an answer to all your questions and can help you to find interesting places and informations you don't read in your travel guide. One thing I already know: Our first stay in this place won't be our last ...

A charming appartment with a lovely garden, close to everything. Couldn´t have stayed at a better location in Roma! Photos of property describes very well. Clean, with enough hot water, there is everything you need. We didn´t spend much time in the appartment though, as we was walking around in city 14-15 hours / day :-) We arrived at Fiumicino and was picked up with a large, nice van that Mary booked for us, very nice driver too. Mary speaks very good english, so did the driver. We will definitely recommed this appartment/owner and if we get back to Roma, we´d like to stay here again. Mary, thank you so much! Very comfortable place to stay. Clean. Good facilities (including tonnes of kitchen utensils). Literally a hop away from the metro. Having a garden for al fresco meals was the icing on the cake. One week in Rome---perfect location!

Our host was helpful and went out of her way to make sure our time in Rome was the best it could be. She is a true "host" and it made our trip so memorable. She started out of visit making sure we had coffee and breakfast for our first morning (thank you!!) and pointed out where the grocery store, post office, bank, etc was....all within a block of the apartment!! The neighborhood is full of wonderful places to eat, have coffee, the best gelato in all of Rome (Millennium near the Cipro station!), and shopping. The Cipro station is a two minute walk, and the Vatican is in your backyard! When we go back to Rome we will stay here again. She arranged for transportation to and from the airport, with no hassles at all. The apartment is full of guide books, maps, and ideas of how to make the most of your trip! We felt safe at all times in the apartment, and were very comfortable! Wonderful place to stay---Cipro station is on the main line for the metro, and you call walk everywhere! Grazie!!

Excellent stay at an excellent location

We stayed for 10 days at this apartment and had a great experience. Everything was delivered as promised. The owner was very gracious and helpful and full of good suggestions. Any arrangements that she made on our behalf (transport to and from the airport, etc) were executed flawlessly - on time and at the quoted price. She was consistently available and responsive whenever we needed her. When there was a question (from either the US or Rome), she responded within the hour. We had everything in the apartment that we needed from day one (coffee, milk, salt, pepper, toilet paper, paper towels, etc). There was also a helpful guide to the immediate area (market, restauants, guide books) on the book shelf. The rooms were exactly as promised, and they were clean and neat when we arrived. Everything was in working order. There were sufficent linens and cooking utensils to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. The weather did not allow us to enjoy the garden but it looked perfect had the weather been warmer. There was a locked gate to the street, and another to the garden so we felt very secure (although the neighborhood seemed so safe, I thought the gates were not necessary). We had originally wanted an apartment closer to Piazza Navona/Campe Fiore - but happened into this one, which turned out to be a far superior location because of its proximity to the Vatican, the market, and the Metro. We walked to the Trionfale Market every day as it gave us such a great local experience. We also "ate in" several times while still enjoying real Roman cooking, by purchasing food at the market and enjoying it hot and fresh at the apartment (which was a huge cost savings). We used the metro extensively as it was fast, clean and easy. I would heartily recommend this rental to anyone looking at an extended stay in Rome.

Very safe neighborhood. Had grown children visit and never ran out of hot water. Kitchen is great. Clothes washer a plus. Can't say enough good things about the apartment and Mary (very good English) and very nice and very helpful. We wanted to "live" in Roma away from "English" as in Florence and this was the place. We even took a few days off and did nothing....was great.

The place was great. It has a private entrance and the patio was a nice touch, too. The apartment was about two blocks from an outdoor market place, fresh fruits, veg, meat, fish, you name it, daily except on Sunday from 7 to 2. There was a grocery store about 1 1/2 blocks, too. It was walking distance to the Vatican, not a short one, but okay. The Metro was 1 1/2 blocks in the other direction so it was very convienient to travel ot other areas of Rome. Mary was very accessible if we needed any assitance and gave us directions to the items mentioned above. I highly recommend her place.

We stayed here in May 2008 and it was very nice. We enjoyed a short walk to the Metro. We used the kitchen for breakfast almost everyday and loved to eat on the lovely outside area. We would absolutely stay here again!!

We recently had a very enjoyable stay in Mary's apartment. We enjoyed the very nicely equipped kitchen and the goodies she left for us(and we appreciated the hairdryers too). The apartment was very convenient to the subway and the Vatican. Mary was also very helpful in getting us a driver to get us to the airport. The whole family liked the roominess of the apartment, and we would definitely like to do it again.
