While driving up the pristine beach from the end of the paved road in Corolla, you will begin to feel the invigorating sea air and see pelicans, seagulls and the ubiquitous petite sandpipers on the run. Drive over the dune to Carova Beach, where all the roads are sand. When you turn into the driveway for 'Sea-Ya-Round', you may be surprised to see wild horses there to greet you. Some of the mares may have their cute foals with them. The house is located about eight and a half miles up the beach from the end of the paved highway, Route 12 in Corolla, and is accessible by four wheel drive only.
When you first enter 'Sea-Ya-Round', you will immediately relax and feel the uniqueness of this round house nestled in the dunes. There are two bedrooms on the lower level with a large full bathroom. One has a queen bed and the other has twin beds. Large windows give wonderful views of the wild horses which meander around almost everyday.
On the main level you will find a king bedroom and another large bathroom with a top-of-the-line washer/dryer. Also on the main level are your fully-equipped kitchen with an island wet bar and a dining area. You can relax and watch high definition television in both the family room and master king bedroom. You will also find a selection of DVD movies and a collection of books.
A stroll out the five foot wide runway to the elevated gazebo, will show you why you chose to have your vacation at 'Sea-Ya-Round'. You will see spectacular views up and down the beach, feel the cool breezes and witness the wonders of the pelicans' flight as they glide by at your eye level. Suddenly, all the stresses of your life will disappear. Take a glass of wine and watch and savor the views for hours from the gazebo. In the evening have your dinner in the gazebo, and enjoy the spectacular blazing sunsets.
You will want to spend the night in the gazebo!
Awake to the wild mustangs having their morning fill of sea oats, so why not join them for breakfast in the gazebo? You can enjoy the glistening morning surf, and watch the ocean with its abundance of sea life frolicking in the morning lull. The views will be mesmerizing as you sip your morning coffee.
Direct access to Carova Beach is reached by steps from the gazebo down to the beach. Your cares will vanish while strolling along the beach perhaps looking for unusual shells or other treasures from the sea. End your day relaxing in the round hot tub. Turn off all the lights so you may take in the beautiful night skies with shooting stars. All this and more is yours while you are staying in beautiful Carova Beach.
There are many other things to do while staying in Carova Beach such as taking a hike in the False Cape State Park. This is located about 1.5 miles north of the house.
The park kiosk has a flier that will show you where walking trails are located throughout the park. There is a pristine, undisturbed beach where only nature abounds. Surf fishing is always a fun thing to do, and who knows, you may catch fresh fish for your dinner. While you fish, you can watch the seagulls and pelicans fish for their dinner.
If you have the desire to go off the beach to the south, you will find many wonderful restaurants with all types of cuisine. Visit the shops in Corolla and Timbuck II shopping area, and don't forget to tour the restored Whale Head Club, the Currituck Lighthouse and finally the new Wildlife Museum, which are all located together in Corolla. Driving further south will offer more to see - such as the Wright National Memorial Park where flight began in 1903, and the North Carolina Aquarium in Manteo.

This charming house-in-the-round is tucked behind a sand dune and has direct access to the beach, just a few yards away. Take your coffee to the gazebo at the end of the boardwalk, which overlooks the ocean, and watch the sun rise. At night, enjoy a soak in the hot tub while you watch the sunset. In between, keep a lookout for soaring pelicans and breaching porpoises, and of course the wild horses moseying in the surf. Relaxing and restorative. Aaahhhh! Even though we had to cut our time short and skedaddle as Hurricane Sandy came pounding up the coast, we had a lovely, peaceful and wonderful few days. And it was especially nice, being able to bring along our little dog, who had his first dunk in the ocean and enjoyed himself as much as we did.Recommended for: Pet owners, age 55+, romantic getaway.

I just wanted to drop a quick note here and let you know what an amazing time we had at your ‘see ya round’ place Weather was 75-80 for 6 straight days which made for incredible mornings in the gazebo, awesome afternoons on the beach and relaxing evenings in the hot tub. You truly have the best place on the beach and we cannot wait to spend more time there in the coming spring. Where to even begin… This was a solo journey for me as a newly independent middle-aged-woman so I was a bit nervous about the beach driving and being on my own; however, it was the perfect vacation and perfect location. I had a truly memorable, life changing and life affirming experience during my week at Sea-Ya-Round. The beach house is cozy and comfortable and the hot tub was the perfect way to end the day while listening to the ocean and staring at the stars; not to forget the time spent in the gazebo – fabulous! I highly recommend visitors take a day and spend in False Cape State Park, either going in off the beach or driving to the main NC entrance. I walked 9 miles in the Park one day and witnessed a beautiful change of scenery, terrain and colors. The ocean trail brings you to a magnificent stretch of beach and sand dunes and my favorite photos are from that area. I also spent an afternoon walking about the roads of Carova in search of the wild ponies and I was not disappointed. And, of course, beach walking each day was a must! October was perfect for me as I loved the solitude the surroundings afforded me, yet never felt lonely. I arrived early in the evening and later than anticipated, but Jennifer, the housekeeper, was kind enough to have turned on a number of lights, which was very welcoming. Jack, what can I say…you are a FABULOUS host; much thanks and appreciation for your care and concern, as well as your quick responses, phone calls, and assistance with all of my questions! I am looking forward to your watercolor print of Sea-Ya-Round as a warm reminder of my experience. What a wonderful way to spend some quality time on my own and be fully in the moment and completely relaxed. THANK YOU, thank you, thank you! My neighbor and I just got back from staying at Sea-Ya-Round and loved it! It truly is a great place to stay. The description detailed here on VRBO is spot on and the home was SPOTLESS! On 2 separate days, a herd of horses stayed in our yard for hours. We were able to capture wonderful pictures and observe them in their natural environment. The gazebo view was the highlight. It was a great place to have all of your meals and watch the sunrises, sunsets and dolphins - all while listening to the waves. A rewarding plus to this home was working with Jack, the owner. Jack was great when booking and even followed up with us during our stay to make sure things were to our liking. When I shared with him he had some shrubs that were starting to grow into the stairway up to the home, he had someone come out the next day to trim them. He wanted to make sure our stay was rewarding. That is service worth mentioning. 'Sea-ya-Round' is well equipped - kitchen, satellite, Wi-Fi, H2O at the gazebo - even to the beach chairs, umbrellas and beach toys. We drove 17 hours and it's great to not have to worry about bringing those type of items. This is our 3rd time to Carova Beach (dogs included) and I would recommend this home. I wish VRBO would allow me to rate Jack's service and kindness - it would be higher than 5 stars! Hey Jack!! Sorry it has taken me so long to write this... Thank you so much for allowing us to spend our honeymoon at your home in Carova, NC. It was exactly everything we were looking for! The house is gorgeous and you werent kidding about the horses being on your payroll!! The night we arrived we had 3 horses in the driveway greeting us, and everyday after that they visited, We were even able to see a stallion fight right out by the hot tub! Our dogs loved it and we really enjoyed being able to have them there! We will definitly contact you again in the future when we plan another getaway! Thank you so much again!! This was my first experience renting a vacation home online. You are completely in the hands of the owner as to the accuracy of the description of the home. Jacks description is right on! Everything in the house is as it was represented if not better. Jacks attention to details, the perfectly stocked kitchen, not having to take chairs, boogie boards Etc..... is a huge plus. The weather was great, ponies visited several times, dolphins right off shore and a turtle nesting site steps from the gazebo only added to the week. Thank you Jack for opening your home and the Carova Beach way of life to my family. We look forward to coming back in the future. We very much enjoyed our stay in this meticulously maintained property with its many comforts and amenitities. The house has been made very comfortable inside and is well equipped for making meals, keeping caught up on the laundry from the trip, etc. The outside decking around the house and out to the beach made it so easy to get right out to the water. The gazebo was especially nice because it provides a comfortable and shaded place to enjoy a fantastic view of the beach and ocean. Also, the hot tub was nice for warming up after some of the breezier days on the beach we had. We did not venture from the house really at all during our stay and enjoyed the week as one of the more peaceful and relaxing we've ever had away from home!!!Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, age 55+.

Our family had an amazing time at "Sea Ya Round" ! We spent the mornings in the gazebo having coffee and donuts and the evenings strolling down the beach with our beloved dog, Daisy. We had everything we needed to relax comfortably and prepared meals every night we were there. Although I felt sorry for some of the others, who chose to go with the "fancier" and "larger" homes close by, because I watched them painfully laboring while walking through the sand to get to the beach! We were oceanfront and the beautiful and well lit walkway leads to an amazing gazebo which takes you steps away from the waters edge! Jack was extremely helpful in providing us with accurate directions and we had no problem finding the place. We enjoyed sipping cool sun tea while soaking in the hot tub and chatting about the days adventures. My teenagers were absolutely mesmerized by the incredible views, wildlife and enjoyed working the many puzzles available in the house! There was plenty of space to accommodate the four of us and we could've easily brought 2 more people along!! We will definitely return to "Sea Ya Round" and are already having conversations about our next vacation!Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Enjoyed a unique and wonderful Thanksgiving at the beach. Door to door, it was a 7 hour drive from Northern VA but nice to know that we can get away to a bit of paradise for a quick weekend break in the future. Everyone enjoyed the house with all it has to offer. There really was something for everyone. The kids took the boogie boards out in the ocean and had a great time even though it was a bit chilly in November. We were able to find plenty of wild ponies in the roads behind the house and toward the bay just about 2 hours before sunset each evening. The wi-fi was great to have and we were able to use Skype to connect with friends and family. The kids enjoyed the Disney channel and their comfy rooms. We all loved eating in the gazebo and watching dolphins in the morning. The private boardwalk to the beach and gazebo really makes this house a step above the others. It was our first time using VRBO and visiting the Outer Banks and it was a great experience. We were able to search on exactly what we were looking for and the whole process was very easy. About the owner: I've been a lover of Carova Beach for many years. As an artist, I love the beauty of this Beach. I've painted many landscapes in Carova and I teach plein air pastel landscape workshops around the country and abroad. I love surf fishing at the beach house, and I wish I had more time to spend in Carova. I've Traveled a lot, but there seems to be no place like Carova.
