This lovely home is new to the vacation rental market for 2013. For the past 15 years this has been our home, however we have relocated to Winter Harbor, just three miles away. Since this is a new rental we have no reviews at this time.
Located at the doorstep of Acadia National Park's Schoodic Peninsula...just a 1/2 mile walk into the national from the home. We are in the village of Bunkers Harbor and this home offers ocean views that extend over the spruce-clad rock bound coast with dramatic breaking surf, lobster boats and a lighthouse in the distance. Named “Harbor Treasure”, this home has the charm and elegance of a traditional seaside cottage yet all the amenities for modern convenient living. The porch across the front of the house beckons one to linger and enjoy the sounds of the sea. The perfect place to read, relax, enjoy a glass of wine and savor the peace and quiet.
The large bonus room is set up as a master suite with a king size bed and living room furniture, overlooking the spectacular view. On the other half of the house the upstairs has two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed. The front bedroom room overlooks the ocean and the guest bedroom has it's own private deck. There are two full bathrooms, one between the two bedrooms upstairs and the other on the first floor. The other rooms in the house include a galley kitchen, a separate prep-kitchen, a sunroom, a living room, and dining room. There is a two car garage, a covered front porch and a side deck both with ocean views. The home sets up perfectly for two families to easily share with both common and private spaces. The total square footage is 2000 so there is plenty of room. The home has enough beds to sleep 6, however there is plenty of floor space for sleeping bags and air mattresses. There is one queen size mattress available at the home.
Other amenities are a dishwasher, gas fireplace, washer, dryer, gas grill, high speed internet, cable television, built in speakers with stereo unit and a local land line. All bedding and linens are included. No additional cleaning fee. Purchase lobster fresh off the boat the say day it is caught, less than a mile away.

While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We suggest you bring beach towels. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the home. Fireplace: The fireplace is a non-vented propane gas log fired firebox. Please do not throw any paper or other combustible materials in the fireplace. 10: Water and Septic: The property is on a well and septic systems. The mineral content in the water is high. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the septic system, you could be charged damages of up to $500. 12. Storms: If there is a storm or hurricane at the rental property location, no refunds will be given unless: • A "mandatory evacuation order has been given for the Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning" area of residence of a vacationing guest. • The day that the authorities order a mandatory evacuation order in a "Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning," area, we will refund: -Any unused portion of rent from a guest currently registered; -Any unused portion of rent from a guest that is scheduled to arrive, and wants to shorten the stay, to come in after the Hurricane Warning is lifted; and -Any advance rents collected or deposited for a reservation that is scheduled to arrive during the "Hurricane Warning" period.

About the owner: My husband and I are both Maine natives, having grown up in northern Maine. We love the coast, nature and the quiet lifestyle that this area offers. We live 3 miles from this home, having moved last year to relocate our business.
Why the Owner Chose Gouldsboro:
My Dad purchased this property in 1987 and it was a summer rental property with him for several years. In 1997 we purchased the cottage from him and moved here full time. Over the next year we made numerous upgrades and changes along with the large addition. We fell in love with Winter Harbor Lighthouse on Mark Island, the night sky, and Acadia National Park. We never tire of natural beauty around us, after 15 years of living here it is still surreal at times.
