Nice little two story turn of the century house in the Central Hillside area, 8 blocks up the hill from Fitger's and the Canal Park area. 10 minutes from Spirit Mountain ski area. Big yard with picnic table & wood fire pit. HDTV with Blu-Ray player, iPod/mp3 hookup on sound system. We will be back!!! The house was adorable - very clean and well maintained! It is close to everything especially UMD. Location is convenient to the lake, college, groceries etc. The main floor is open and warm/homey. We were there to enjoy the parks and winter sight seeing but also to visit 3 college students. We had a dinner party for 8 and the huge round table fit us all with enough chairs, dishes and even wine glasses!! I would recommend this for parent's of college students when they come visit their children. The owners are excellent at communcation by both email and instructions hanging up in the house. Excellent CD collection and reading materials providedRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This was our second time staying at the house and we had a great experience once again. We now have a toddler and we were grateful for the gate at the top of the steps in the kitchen. The house is clean and has some great views of the lake. We would stay here againRecommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

The house was in an excellent location for all that Duluth has to offer and area was very quiet. The house had three bedrooms my sister and I stayed there but a family of 4 or 5 would find it comfortable. The house was well-maintained and clean. I would stay at this house again! I would recommend the Amazing Grace Restaurant down by the aerial lift bridge The owner was prompt on getting responses back on inquiries and follow-up emails.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a great stay in Duluth. The weather was phenomenal and the trees were gorgeous!! We had a great time in the house too. Beautiful and charming! My sister and I are "old home" fans and this was just a gorgeous little treasure. We had a great time with the concentration puzzles. The house was stocked with everything we could need. And you cant beat the price. We had a great time and I would definitely return, and recommend this property!!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Well-Stocked Getaway House, but Noisy During Our Stay

The house was as advertised and perfect for a quick fall getaway to Duluth. The kitchen is well-stocked, and the CD collection is fantastic! We hiked down (and back up) to Fitgers and Canal Park, and we easily strolled to At Sara's Table and Chester Park. The only problem we had was not in the house, but outside the house. Large groups of extremely loud people were in the street both Friday and Saturday nights as late (early?) as 3:30 a.m. Another caution: I would not recommend renting the house in the winter if you are uncomfortable navigating the steep street, the on-street parking, and/or the entry steps.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

I stayed here with my husband, two boys (3 and 8) and mother in law for two nights. We all enjoyed it, and found it to be clean and sufficiently large for our group. The only thing I would wish for this property is a second bathroom. Everything else was perfect! I especially enjoyed the CD collection and was spinning disks to please my myriad crew the whole time.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We came to Duluth for the Blues Festival (great music!), and thoroughly enjoyed staying at this house. The downstairs (kitchen, dining, living) is very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped. We loved the sound system - just plugged in an iPhone, and had non-stop music. Although, the huge CD collection could have been a more than adequate substitute for Pandora! We enjoyed a quiet nite-cap in the back yard each evening. The upstairs was also comfortable. Our party included two adult couples, and we had no issues sharing the single bathroom. All in all, it was a great weekend. We enjoyed it so much, we've already reserved the house for next year's Blues Festival! Many thanks to the owners!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed at this very clean and comfortable home for 2 nights with our 20 month old daughter. She loved having room to play and her own bedroom. This house is very well taken care of, has a great amount of space, and is close to everything in Duluth. It was also very nice to have a fully equiped kitchen, especially with a 20 month old. We would recommend this house to anyone and we'll definetly be back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
