Loved the cabin. It is in a great location (quiet, peaceful). We had a wonderful time. The cabin was spotless. Becki came over when we arrived and was just so nice and accommodating. Loved the fact that we were able to bring our smallest dog (chihuahua)! Also had a great time looking at the deer right in the front and back yard!

great location! super clean and well furnished cabin. I arrived at 8:00 pm, having hit a deer 10 miles away. Becki was there to meet me and show me around the cabin. Jarod did a quick inspection of the car and retied my hood down for me. I was pleasantly surprised and grateful the next morning when I found packets of coffee for teh coffee pot, since I'd forgotten to pack any. Made my day! They both have a wealth of knowledge of the area and what might interest you. I would encourage those of you who can to consider staying during this time of year - weather was very pleasant - around 60°, and nothing was crowded. I hope to return either in the fall or next spring (just won't drive that last stretch in the dark.

Great Place!

Stayed Here the first week of October. Other than some attractions being closed for the season we had a wonderful time. The cabin was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The place was east to find and only about 1 1/2 miles from downtown Keystone (this was a good thing if you like peace and quiet). Becky called us on our way the day we were to arrive and made sure everything was right before our planned arrival. Friendly, down home people. Also, we had a $10.00 per night discpount because of the time of year. The Keystone/Hill City train passed right behind the cabin and was fun to watch and wave at the kids. Wild life, deer and turkey everywhere. We will definately stay here again if we come back to the Black Hills. May even make a special trip.

Comfortable Cabin - Caring Hosts

The cabins are on Old Hill City Road, a quiet county road connecting Hill City and Keystone, Our cabin was cozy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Everything worked - nothing funky about this place! Wild turkeys roamed the front yard and the 1880's steam train ran behind it. No worries about noise from the train - it runs only during the day. Becky and Jarrod are exceptional hosts and do everything to make guests comfortable. We were sorry to leave after our week-long stay and will definitely stay there again if we return to the Black Hills.

We had a fabulous time staying in these cabins on a recent trip to South Dakota! Would most certainly stay there again in a heart beat. Everything is provided and the owners are phenominal. WiFi was a great touch!

Kids Loved It and We Did Too.

We took our 3 grandchildren (ages 11,12, &13) to South Dakota for the 4th of July and stayed at American Pines for 3 nights. It was a great location to go in and out of the areas we wanted to tour. It also gave us time to play at the cabins. The cabins were very clean, and when we inquired about getting another chair, Becky brought a chair from her home for us to use. They were also very informative regarding area activities. Kids loved Alpine Slide and Bear Country. Becky let us know to go to Bear Country early in the morning for feeding time and we were able to see a lot of activity. Needles drive and climbing the rocks were a big hit as well. Places to eat in Keystone: Big Time Pizza and Peggy's Place. We would definitely stay at American Pines again. Thank you, Becky and Jared for your hospitality.

Very nice, clean and well supplied cabins. The setting is wonderful, very quiet and peaceful. I would definitely bring my family to stay here again. The kids loved playing by the creek and watching the train go by.

Just returned from our week long vacation in the Black Hills - and although the weather didn't cooperate fully - the accommodations were spectacular!! You will find these cabins exactly as described. We really felt like we were "home" when we pulled up to the cabin each and every day. The location is stellar - 10 minutes to Mt. Rushmore - who can beat that?? Custer State Park, Crazy Horse, Mt. Rushmore all within minutes. We also loved that our children could play out back on the basketball court, swing set, large yard and even the creek - what a great way to unwind after a day of site seeing - not to mention the s'mores cooked over the fire!!!! We will definitely be referring these cabins to our friends who will be traveling to SD. Thanks Jarod and Becki for a great vacation - lots of memories were made for this Arizona family!

The cabins that Jarod and Becki have built are just perfect. The setting is magnificent and you will wake up to deer just a few feet away from your window. Everything is immaculately cleaned and so handy to every attraction you can think of visiting. We do suggest you putting your feet up and sitting on the deck and watching the stars. Thank you Jarod and Becki for accommodating us, our two dogs and our RV.

Quiet cabin in the mountains

The quiet retreat at our cabin in the Black Hills near Keystone was perfect. Only a few minutes to spectacular scenery, fun shopping, great walking trails, and the 1880's train made it perfect for a fall getaway. We highly recommend a visit to Crazy Horse in addition to Mount Rushmore, do the winding roads, too, lots of adventure. Thanks Becki and Jarrod for your hospitality.

Would Stay Again

We stayed here for four nights in the month of September, 2011. The owners were awesome and were helpful and in everything we asked. It was chilly in the evenings and mornings, so they got a space heater for my 81 year old mother to put in her room. It made a huge difference in her comfort while she was there. The cabins was comfortable and had plenty of room for what we needed it for. Location was great for all we did. If we are ever in the area again we will stay there.

Outstanding cabins!

You can't go wrong with these wonderful cabins. Clean, quiet & most of all, comfortable beds. Becki & Jarod go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable! We loved the location-so close to Keystone. There is so much to do in the Black Hills, you will want to come back to these cabins year after year! Each cabin even has a gas grill! We loved grilling steaks & buffalo burgers for dinner. The 1880's train runs by the back of the cabins a few times a day. It is awesome to hear the whistle & see the steam coming out of the engine. Took a ride to Rochford & had the best burger in the hills at Moonshine Gulch Saloon. I highly recommend staying at these wonderful cabins with friendly owners!

Great week stay in a very clean cabin

There are six cabins which are all brand new. They are cabins so they are small, but fine for two people. Becki and Jarrod are great people. Always asking if you need anything. Becki even texted me several times asking. The cat and dog act like they are yours. Very friendy. The cabins are about two miles outside Keystone on a scenic and twisting road that goes to Hill City. Mount Rushmore is about 5 miles away and very easy to get to. In Keystone eat at Peggy's Place and Big Time Pizza. In Hill City try Desperados. Visit Prairie Berry Winery for a wine tasting (free!). Take a ride on the Michelson Trail. Rent bikes at Rabbit Bicycle. Visit Custer State Park to see the Buffalo, burros and other wildlife.

My husband & I enjoyed our stay very much. The cabin is accurately described, very clean & new with tasteful decor. We were off the main drag, so very peaceful & quiet. It's nice to have our pooch with us and welcomed here. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.
