HOUSE FEATURES:
Unique old world house on Lafitte Bay. Best of both worlds. Lounge on the pier and deck or take a 2 minute walk to the Gulf beach. Take a deep water swim in the Bay right from the pier or head to the Beach to cool down. Antique heart of pine floors upstairs, Egyptian tile downstairs. Large covered porch upstairs with additional uncovered sun deck. New Orleans style porch downstairs overlooking the water. 4 large private bedrooms with 3 additional sleeping areas. Accommodations are as follows:
*Bedroom 1 - Upstairs King w/ TV
*Bedroom 2 - Upstairs 2 Queens and a Crib
*Bedroom 3 - Downstairs King w/ TV
*Bedroom 4 - Downstairs Queen w/ TV
*Sleeping Area 1 - Downstairs 1 Double
*Sleeping Area 2 - Downstairs 2 Twins w/ TV (no cable but can be hooked up for video games)
*Sleeping Area 3 - Downstairs 1 Double
Even though this house only has two bathrooms, each has a separate dressing area with sinks so that one person can shower in private while others continue to get ready/dressed. Upstairs bathroom features a double vanity in the dressing area with separate tub and shower. Downstairs bathroom is the same with the exception of a single pedastal sink.

This house accommodates very large crowds easily but has plenty of private porches and rooms to get away from the group. See below for descriptions of the various areas of the house.
UPSTAIRS
The kitchen comes fully stocked with dishes, utensils, etc… This Cook's kitchen features a 4 burner stove, refrigerator/freezer (w/ ice maker), microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, two sinks and a disposal. Stocked with large pots and many extras, the open floor plan allows the cook to hang out with the family as the kitchen and living area are combined.
The house is fully furnished with 4 cable TV’s (42' HDTV in main living area). A DVD/VCR player will allow you to watch your favorite movies anytime you choose. Broadband wifi is available free of charge. The main living area features a large sofa, two recliners as well as plenty of additional seating. French doors open to a large covered porch that features a hammock, swings and outdoor dining.
Also open to the living area, the dining table seats 8 with additional seating at the bar. Dining room overlooks the pier and the bay.
DOWNSTAIRS
Beds, beds, beds... and spaces for playing games or just getting away from the crowd. Just out the door, is a covered carport and a stairwell leading up to the deck. Facing the water, you can enjoy the New Orleans style porch with table, chairs and a swing. Watch the mullet jump or if you are lucky, watch the dolphins roll through the Bay.
LAFITTE BAY
House sits on the deepwater Lafitte Bay, which is the largest inlet bay on the north side of Dauphin Island. It's hard to determine what is prettier, the sun rising in the east or the moon hanging over the Bay. At this house, you can see both. Step out the front door and watch a gorgeous sunset to the west in the evening. This house has a water view from all four sides.

DEPOSITS
A $500 deposit (per week) is required to confirm reservations. The Confirmation Deposit is not applied to rent.
Upon check-in, Confirmation Deposit converts to a DAMAGE/SECURITY DEPOSIT.
ADVANCE RENT- ONE-HALF of rental rate is required 45 days prior to check in.
SECURITY/DAMAGE DEPOSITS are fully refundable if conditions are met. Deposits are returned to you by mail approximately 14 days after check out.
ALL RESERVATIONS WILL BE CHARGED A CLEANING FEE ($150).
GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR DAMAGE DEPOSIT REFUND
Including but not limited to the following:
* No Damage to House
* No missing or broken items.
* No more than the maximum number of occupants in the property.
* No smoking
* No Parties or weddings
* Property is left reasonably clean, no dirty dishes, all trash taken to outside containers and put on the street by Friday night, in general just general tidying of the property.
We reserve the right to deduct excess cleaning & damage charges from the deposit.

CANCELLATIONS
DEPOSIT & ADVANCE RENT are refundable, if reservation is canceled 45 days prior to arrival.
* We will also refund if we can re-book the property.
* A $25 processing fee is charged on all cancellations.
RENTAL PAYMENT BALANCE IS DUE THREE WEEKS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL!
We accept: Traveler's checks, money orders, and cashier's checks. Credit Cards are accepted via PayPal, but the renter will split the fees charged with owner.
Personal Checks must be mailed in 21 days prior to check in. All late check-ins must pre-pay.

Home is very nice and quite unique. The location is excellant and beach is awesome.. The yard needs some work but overall it is a great place. This was the best Thanksgiving ever.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, pet owners.
Owner response: So glad that families have great memories in our home. I think Eric caught bigger Red fish than we did from the pier. The birds and butterflies like my messy yard more than the humans!!

This rental was a lovely home away from home. Our family of 11 enjoyed everything the island had to offer, the beach, Bird Sanctuary, Fort Gaines, fishing, cinnamon rolls and more. Sunrise from the house deck is a must, they were spectacular. There are plenty escape nooks for a family of primarily adults when you needed some quiet time. The kitchen is well stocked and more than enough towels for or crowd. It is a lovely and warm home, a great place to decompress from our busy lives. thanks for sharingRecommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our first winter on Dauphin Island was fabulous due to the home we rented and the owners. The old world charm made everything perfect. Watching the dolphins and wild life play in and around the bay was worth the trip, the friendliness and down home feeling was the frosting on the cake. We enjoyed all the restaurants on the island, if weather was bad there was plenty to do with Mobile so close and Biloxi just a hop skip away to do some gaming. We will definitely be back, and look forward to years of enjoyment here and on the island. Thank you Jan and Randy for your friendship and for sharing your wonderful home. About the owner: I'm a teacher, mom, grandmother and project extraordinaire. I'm passionate about getting my hands dirty - whether it's gardening or remodeling a home. I love my porches; being outside in the warm breezes rejuvenates and calms my soul. Napping in the hammock, chasing my grandchildren, sunning and reading magazines on the chaise lounge chairs, eating watermelon or lavish dinners of fresh trout with a bottle of wine -- it doesn't matter what you are doing, being outside heightens the experience!
Why the Owner Chose Dauphin Island:
I dreamed of owning a beach home on Dauphin Island and we finally made that happen by doing most of the work ourselves on a previous beach cottage. Then, we made the commitment to live on Dauphin Island full time and purchased this property.
This was our home for many years! After Hurricanes Ivan and Katrina, we decided to have a second home in Mobile, AL and rent out our home on Dauphin Island someof time. It's still a place we all love to be.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Not another condo or silly bright bedspread ...instead... 200year old heart pine, slave made bricks, comfortable and beautiful. Open plan and updated, but gives you a feeling of 'back in time'. Our home is unique and one of a kind.... wildflowers and trees filled with birds and butterflies right next to the water..... dolphins stroll through to catch the mullet while you catch crabs .... choose a porch from the many surrounding our home....
