My husband and I stayed at Tony & Christine's apartment during our recent adventure in New York. They were very helpful getting the arrangements made and providing excellent advice on travel from the Amtrak to the apartment. The apartment was clean and comfortable and our hosts were very accomodating- even trying to track us down upon our departure to return my camera that was left plugged in. When we were unable to connect Tony promptly put the camera in the mail and it beat us home. I was so impressed and appreciative of that effort! We walked or took public transportation everywhere from the apartment - Central Park, Museum Mile, Battery Park, Times Square, Broadway, 9/11 Memorial, etc as we enjoyed a wonderful overview of New York with a comfortable place to rest each night at a comparatively reasonable cost!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

My family of 4 people stayed at Christine and Tony's place for 6 days. Prior to departure the discussion with the owners was very easy and helpfull. Tony welcomed us in the appartment and has been very nice and precise with all the explanations regarding the appartment and its equipment. We could contact him during our stay if we needed. The appartment is well equiped and can easily welcome 4 adults. We particularly appreciated its cleanliness. Public transportation are accessible within a 5 minutes walk and a supermarket is located just around the corner. The location is safe and quiet. We had a wonderful stay at Christine and Tony's and I would strongly recommand to stay at there place when visiting New-York. Thank you again for this great experience!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, tourists without a car, age 55+.

This rental met all of our expectations. Our daughter lives nearby and we stayed here during our visit with her. It had all the basic amenities including new appliances. The apartment was clean and neat, had obviously been recently renovated and is in "like new" condition. Security is very good and the unit is very quiet. It is conveniently located near the 4, 5 , 6 subway line which is a direct line to Downtown. The owners are very friendly and pleasant and live directly above the apartment. The price is comparatively very reasonable. We highly recommend this apartment and will definitely stay there again when we return to visit our daughter.Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car, age 55+, people with disabilities.

The apartment was just as described. Very clean and located near a number of business, eateries, as well as public transportation. Central Park isn't too far away either. Tony was very helpful with tips on getting around on the subway and finding places to eat. We stayed with our 11 month old and they even had a pack and play for our son. Everything was great. Thanks.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, tourists without a car.

The Apartment was VERY clean and the owners could not have been more helpful or friendly. Why get a hotel when you get have your own apartment, for a fraction of the cost? There are two subway stations within blocks of your stay and the place is easy going to/from anywhere you want to be in NYC. I would stay here again and hopefully will have a chance to do just that next fall.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car.

My sister and I decided on a Mom's Weekend -- no kids, no husbands, just us and the Big Apple. It was my sister's first trip to New York and my third, so I decided (being both the oldest and the "travel agent" for our trip) that we should stay in Harlem to soak up some culture yet be close to all the attractions. This location, this apartment and these owners could not have been a better choice for us! My sister is very picky -- a borderline neat freak, it was the last week in July, so temperatures were in the upper 80s & mid-90s, and neither of us had ever stayed in Harlem. I've stayed in vacation rentals in LA, San Diego and Orlando over the past few years, so I felt as though I'd found attentive owners who cared about our experience. This place was a dream with central air! The apartment is in an area that has an urban tempo, but it was not scary. My sister felt totally safe as a new visitor to NY and to Harlem. We walked "home" at night from the Metro Station and felt fine. The hustle and bustle of the local shops was comforting, and everything one could want is just a block away in any direction. When I arrived, I walked a block away to some amazing Bahamanian Carribean food (called Bajan); the workers were lovely and friendly, and when I was grocery shopping, I ran into the same workers just outside of the market and exchanged hellos. I felt right at home after that! The place itself is clean (it met my sister's strict standards), and as moms we noted how perfectly clear of clutter it is, just right for a family with little ones. Christine and Tony were over-the-top accommodating with a handy umbrella which I was grateful for in a downpour which Tony cautioned me about when I collected the keys; over-the-phone, step by step directions from the bus stop to their property and immaculate directions for picking up my sister from JFK using the Metro; they even gave me their cell number just in case I got lost on my journey; we also got an early check-in -- better than any hotel with the best concierge at a fraction of the cost! My sister and I got to every place we wanted to go using the Metro, and at night we hit a few hot spots in Harlem by hiring a car. It is important to be safe when ever traveling, and we practiced all the safety measures as women in a big city should. That said, I cannot recommend this place more highly for women traveling alone or families. I plan to bring my hubbie & boys -- both under 10 -- next trip ... maybe!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Dear Traveling Mom, So glad you and your sister enjoyed your stay at 121TownHouse. It was our pleasure to host your accommodations! We try to treat our guests just like we want to be treated, when we travel. Thank you again for the very thoughtful note and review! Definitely, brought a smile to our faces. Hope to see you again soon, on your next visit to the Big Apple.

Very close to the Express on 125th and the local at 116th. Very clean. The neighborhood reminds me of a classic NY neighborhood that is easy to get around in and the food is good. A much better alternative to the very expensive hotels that have no shoulder room in the bathrooms. A kitchen, nice bathroom, and plenty of room in the bedroom make this the appropriate option for comfort while visiting NYC. The choice is yours to save on dining costs or enjoy the character and flavors of this magnificent town.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Glad to have you. Come back soon!
