Year Purchased: 1994
I owned a small bungalow on this prime lot just off West Cliff Drive and rented it to summer vacationers in the '80s and 90's. It became such a popular vacation rental, I had to enlarge it, so did a teardown and built a whole new, two-story home designed for large groups of vacationers who like to cook, serve, and enjoy meals together. Thus, the table that seats nine, the great serving dishes and platters, and the second living room, den with TV and DVD player downstairs for children--toddlers to teenagers. They can sleep downstairs, too, in three single beds, with one pair of adults in the queen bed on the lower level.
Why the Owner Chose Santa Cruz
Every time I drive along West Cliff drive to upgrade this vacation rental, which I do a lot, I find peace, joy, and exhilaration in the Santa Cruz coastline. I've travelled in Ireland, Italy, and South America, and I think the views you see while walking along West Cliff drive beat anything I've seen--anywhere.
The Unique Benefits of this Home
I enjoy getting all of my family or friends together, when everybody cooks, eats, drinks, plays poker, Monopoly, Scrabble, or works downstairs on the puzzle table (puzzles provided).
