House is beautiful, everything was as described. There are two adults and six children in our family, and we were very comfortable all week. The home is spacious and well decorated. We got plenty of exercise with the four flights of stairs. We didn't use the pool much because it wasn't heated and the weather was between 70 and 75 every day. The beach is stunning, definitely spend some time in the state park. We had a huge stretch of beach all to ourselves!Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing.

My family really enjoyed staying on Saint George Island for the first time, it's awesome there! The House Location was great for biking everywhere and seeing beautiful sunsets over the bay. The beds were comfortable and the home had a good floor plan for older children... The problem was a few bugs come out at night in the kitchen, grossed me out. We are clean freaks, I ended up keeping all of our food in the fridge because of the bug thing. It would have been nice to have more trash bags and toilet paper to last all week, i had to buy these. Thanks for the coffee samples, that was a nice touch! :)Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, sightseeing, adventure seekers.
Owner response: House is sprayed 1 a month by a professional. House will be sprayed again. No other complaints by other renters.

The home is located just around the corner from the bridge. It is convenient to all of the businesses on the island. Must be comfortable with stairs as the house has 2 main staircases that run up to the bedroom and living areas, an additional staircase up to the loft and a two level deck stairway out back down to the pool/grill area. The beds were comfortable and during this time of year it was quiet even with a bar/restaurant being next door. If you go and stay, there is a notebook with recipes in it that visitors have left. Use it! Some great stuff in there! We debated about staying directly on the ocean but being Fall, there was always lots of space to spread out on the beach and had no problem leaving our stuff on the beach when we went back to eat or get supplies. So, bayside was the way to go for us! Only drawback was the bugs! This is a beautifully natural island and the backyard here was no exception. So bring the bug spray! We only had a few issues with the place. 1: There was a section of the pool screen that had been ripped out and it allowed mosquitos into the pool area. It wasnt so bad during the day but in the evening it was unbareable. So we ended up buying alot of citronella candles for the decks and pool area. 2. We had to buy a few gadgets for the kitchen (tongs, spatula, etc). We left them so there are some there now. 3. We noticed a few bugs in the kitchen. 4. Pool boy left the pool area unlocked. The above being said, this is still an awesome place to stay on the island. Making the reservation and payment was easy as clicking a button and the owner kept us up to date on issues that came up before we went down. I highly recommend you consider Landshark for your vacation rental especially if you think you will be popping on and off the island and like to eat out. You are within walking distance of everything on the island and I know you will think so too!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers.

An interesting and comfortable home away from home. We made all our own meals and didn't go out to eat at all. The kitchen was great and had everything we needed (even a masochistic can opener). The place was super clean and well-equipped - very light and airy. Things to be aware of: -It is on the end of a row of similar buildings and is subject to noise from neighbors on the left. We were wakened at 3:00AM by loud talking on one night. -The kitchen and living room are on the 3rd floor reached by two long flights of tiled stairs. It was not a problem for us as we are all healthy and mobile. -It is truly close to the center of island activity. We walked to the bike rental place in 5 minutes and got bikes to tour the island.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This Condo was cleaner than any condo we have ever stayed at. The owner was very helpfull in answering our questions. I would strongly recommend this condo to friends and family. I look forward to hopefully staying at this condo again in the future. Very Clean....Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We stayed in the Landshark over the 4th of July in 2011. It was without a doubt the best beach rental experience we have ever had. We have been coming to St. George Island for decades and I don't want to stay anywhere else. I have mixed emotions about writing this review since it may entice others to want to rent at the same times we do. The new owners are wonderful people and keep their property emaculate.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

The house was just incredible! Much nicer and well kept than the last time we stayed their three years ago under previous owners. It is the nicest beach house we have rented in the 42+ years of going to the beach. The pool was wonderful and the sheets and towels were absolutely great. The house was very clean and provided everythying we needed. The location is excellent with a fantastic view of the bay and the pool was certainly a big hit. The owners and rental agency were great to work with and they were responsive to our needs.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

Exhibit A: Rental Guidelines 1. Pets: Absolutely no pets are allowed in our home or on the premises. If a pet is discovered during your stay, you will be evicted with no warning. You will also incur an additional charge for carpet cleaning and flea spray if any evidence of a pet(s) is found in our home or on the premises. If any pet hair is found in my home, there will be an additional $500.00 cleaning fee. 2. Reservations: Reservations are encouraged and will be accepted up to one year in advance. All reservations require a valid Visa, Master Card, or Discover. 3. Rates: Rates are based on season and length of stay and can be found at www.vrbo.com/352995 Rates are subject to change without notice. For monthly rentals, please see this website or call us at 229-454-6067. 9% Sales tax will be added to all reservations. 4. Deposit Payment: A minimum payment of 50% down per reservation is required within 14 days of initial reservation. If the advance rent is not received within 14 days of booking, your reservation will be cancelled. Reservations for the next calendar year are subject to rate increase and availability. Deposit Payments may be made by bank money order or credit card. Checks are not accepted. If yu are using the book it button. 50% deposit will be due immediately and 50% will be due 30 days prior to checkin. 5. Rental Payment: Final rental payments are due in full 30 days prior to arrival. Payments may be made by travelers check, bank money order or credit card. Reservations made less than 30 days before arrival require full payment. 6. Refunds: Refunds will not be given for late arrivals or early departures. 7. Cancellations: Cancellation of Reservations: Please contact us as soon as possible in the event you must cancel your reservation. If you need to cancel your reservation, you must do so 30 days prior to arrival to receive a refund minus 15 percent of total amount paid. If you need to cancel less than 30 days prior to arrival, you will receive a refund only if the property is re-rented for the same time period, less 15 percent of total amount paid. Once your reservation has been confirmed, any cancellations and/or date changes will be subject to this cancellation policy and a fee of 15 percent of total amount paid. 8. Hurricane Policy: Should a hurricane or tropical storm threaten our area we will receive evacuation instructions from the National Hurricane Center and our local governing officials. If the Mandatory Evacuation order is issued, refunds will be given. 9. Family Rentals Only: Our vacation home is for family rentals ONLY. Our house will not be rented to vacationing students or young adults (under 25) unaccompanied by a responsible parent or guardian. During spring break season, we require one parent for every two persons under the age of 25. A PARENT MUST BE STAYING IN THE HOUSE AT ALL TIMES. Weddings, Wedding Receptions, Family Reunions, or Parties of any kind are not allowed at or on the property of any rental units. Any group, Civic, Church or otherwise renting for the purpose of a meeting is required to have approval prior to check-in. OUR HOUSE IS MONITORED FOR VIOLATION OF THIS POLICY. ALL VIOLATORS WILL BE EVICTED WITH ALL RENTAL PAYMENTS BEING FORFEITED AND ADDITIONAL CHARGES WILL BE APPLIED! RESERVATIONS MADE UNDER FALSE PRETENSES ARE NULL AND VOID AND CHECK-IN WILL NOT BE ALLOWED. NO EXCEPTIONS! People other than those in the guest party set forth above may not stay overnight in the property. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest. 10. Check-in/Check-out: Check-in time is 3p.m. Absolute check-out time is 10 a.m. so that we may prepare for our next arrival. 11. Key Policy: The house has a key safe on the door and we will provide you with the code for the safe before your arrival. The pool has a coded lock and we will provide you with the code before your arrival. Please DO NOT GIVE OUT THESE CODES. Please make sure all external doors (including the pool entry) are locked and place the house keys in the key safe before departure. There will be a charge of $10.00 for each key not returned to the key safe. In the event that you are locked out please call 229-454-6067. There will be a $20.00 charge for this service. 12. Housekeeping: Your vacation accommodations will be cleaned to quality standards prior to your arrival and after your departure. You will be responsible for the cleaning of your unit during your stay and for leaving the unit in good condition at check-out including: Placing all trash in the outside container and moving it to the curb. Washing and putting away all dishes. Removing and placing all bed linens and towels in the hampers in the closet. We respectfully request that you remember that you are staying in our home during your vacation; please treat it with the care you would your own. There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the home, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. If house is left unreasonably dirty, (trash not removed, linens not bagged, dishes not washed and put away) you will be charge a $120.00 cleaning fee. 13. Linens/Towels/Supplies: Bed linens and bath towels are furnished. Please bring your own beach towels and beach blankets, as linens are not to be removed from the unit. Guests will need to provide their own paper items and cleaning supplies. An initial set up of trash liners, bath tissue and facial soap is provided. Extra items needed are the responsibility of the guest. 14. Owners closets: Our home has several closets for storage of our personal property. These closets should remain locked and are NOT included in the rental. 15. Smoking: Smoking is strictly prohibited inside our home. You will incur an additional charge for carpet cleaning and deodorizing if any evidence of smoking is found. If you choose to smoke outside, please dispose of your butts properly. 16. Telephone: The house telephone number is 1-850-927-2182. Local calls only. 17. Pool Rules: There is no lifeguard on duty. Children are not allowed in the pool area without adult supervision. Infants and children who are not potty trained must wear a disposable swim diaper. No diving. No running. No glass in pool area. 18. Liability: Our home is privately owned. We are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illnesses that occur while on the premises or its facilities. We are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables belonging to the guest. By accepting this reservation it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others who they invite to use the premises. 19. Parking: Parking is limited to 2 vehicles. Vehicles are to be parked in designated parking areas only. Parking on the road is not permitted. Any illegally parked vehicles are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner. 20. Water and Sewage: The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. Pour grease in the container under the sink in the kitchen; do not pour grease down the sink. 21. Grilling: You are provided a grill to be used in the grill area only! If you bring a grill, you must grill in the grill area only. Due to fire codes you cannot GRILL ON ANY OF THE PORCHES! You will be asked to leave the premises immediately if you are found grilling in an area other than the grilling area.
