Why the Owner Chose Kapaa
For many years my family vacationed in Kauai. We came to love the natural beauty and the "less developed" culture of the Garden Island. When we decided to purchase a vacation home we knew it had to be near Kauai's many waterfalls, beautiful beaches, and fabulous hiking trails.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
From the lanai door there is an unobstucted view of the ocean that can be seen from every room
in the condo. The sound and smell of the surf is ever-present and so relaxing. The central location provides close proximity to all the wonders of Kauai, and allows for a quick walk to great shops and restaurants in Old Kapaa.
Owner's Map of Kapaa
I am a psychologist living in Northern California. My two daughters and two young grandchildren have enjoyed many family vacations in our condo. We represent three generations of Kauai fans.

We spent the last week with another couple in Cindy's beautiful condo. It is decorated beautifully and has many small touches to make you feel at home. It was like visiting a friend - there was a sand toy set in the closet for us to use, bottle opener and corkscrew in the drawers, extra towels on the counter - everything we needed for our stay to go well. The resort is lovely and well appointed. We had been concerned about noise, and were very pleasantly surprised to find that other guests were quiet and respectful in common areas. There are a number of grills set out in the public areas, as well as a pool and jacuzzi. Check out the Ono family restaurant next door to the resort for breakfast. Great service and they open at 6:30, so perfect for people up for the sunrise! A highlight for us was feeding the koi near the front desk. Bring lots of quarters, as the fish food gumball machine spits out roughly a tablespoon of food at a time - but the koi are gigantic and very outgoing. Thanks again Cindy and Grace- I know we'll be back!!

This Is Where You Want to Stay

My family of four stayed in this condo for a week in June. The unit is easily accessible, clean and well maintained, comfortable beds, well supplied kitchen plus beach items. Lots of amenities available at the condo office (tennis, pool, mini golf, basketball, croquet, shuffleboard, etc) We shopped at the Sunshine Markets and local fish markets for many of our meals prepared at the condo, the BBQ grill was a wonderful bonus. We walked on the paved beach path daily and rented bikes (Coco Pink, just north of the complex). Kapaa is a fantastic location for people who want to explore the island. It's central location makes everyplace just a short drive away. Lots of shops and restaurants but still feels like a quaint small town. The owner, Cindy, is very accommodating and easy to work with. If you are looking for a place to walk from your unit to the beach and shuffle back and forth all day, this probably isn't the place for you. The beach front is eroded and access is blocked off. The nearest beach is a 15 minute walk or 3 minute car trip to the north. This was not a problem for my family, as we love to explore different parts of the island and it's beaches. I see it as a benefit, it makes this beachfront condo seem more private not having crowds of people at the beach just beyond the property line. I got up early each morning and watched the sunrise from the living room or adjacent patio. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone and would make it my first inquiry on future trips to the island. Cindy has maps and Hawaii guide books available. My suggestion for great, unbiased advice in planning your trip is to use The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook by Andrew Doughty. Our vacation was fantastic and something we will remember for many years. Mahalo, Cindy!

We had a wonderful family Christmas in this condo. We used the Christmas tree and decorations that Cindy told us to use. She was very nice to deal with. The condo is exactly as described and nicer than the photos show. We saw beautiful sunrises and three amazing full moon rises that lit up the evening sky and ocean. Beach chairs, sand toys, coolers, ice packs and beach towels were all available in the condo. We found the staff of Pono Kai to be very helpful and friendly. We used the long paved walking path lots. Our daughter and family rented bikes located right next to Pono Kai. Their rental was close by. There were lots of activities for the grandchildren to do. We loved the quaint little town of Kapa'a and local Hawaiians. We'd like to return and stay longer next time. Mahalo Cindy

My husband and I and friends from the Puget Sound area stayed in this condo for a week in late October 2010. It is in a great location right "on the beach" in Kapaa. It is very spacious and well appointed. The 4 mile, paved walking path was a major plus as well as its proximity to the restaurants and shops of the town. As we were there in the "off" season we were not disturbed by the mini golfers and the whole resort was pretty quiet. The laundry facilities located in each building were some of the best we have used in our travels and inexpensive at $1.25 a load.I am originally from the Islands (Hilo) and the feel of the area was like being at home for me.
Owner response:Regardless of the season, there are never more than a few people using the mini-putting green near the building. It is not located too close to the condo itself, so there is no disturbance to the quiet enjoyment of the condo.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in Cindy's condo for 3 weeks. As soon as we walked in to this beautifully decorated condo we felt immediately "at home". Cindy has thought of every ammenity that you could possible need, there is even a christmas tree in the closet beside the beach toys. We loved waking up every morning to enjoy our coffee and the ocean surf right outside on the lanai. Just in front of the condo is a sandy beach that can be enjoyed if you don't feel like driving that day. There is a small putting green out front which we enjoyed, it seemed that it only got used occasionally in the late afternoon. This resort is kept extremely well, they even offer a veggie and herb garden that you can pick fresh for your dinner. It is a very short walk to any shopping or restaurants that you would require, so you would only need a car to see the beautiful waterfalls and beaches that cover this lush island. We loved this condo so much we have booked to stay for a month this year. Mahalo, Darryl and Liz

This property was really enjoyable. A comfortable 2-bedroom condo in the middle of Kapa'a, and within walking distance from most restaurants and shops. The unit was across from a mini-golf course and about 150 feet from a 4.5 mile trail along the coast which my wife and I walked each day. The sunrise is spectacular from the living room. The beach is not accessible in the area directly across from the condo and an orange mesh barrier is there, somewhat annoyingly obstructing an otherwise stunning ocean view. There are, however, several great beaches within walking distance. The Pono Kai resort (in which this condo is located) has tennis and volleyball courts and you can check out other games. The owner of this property was also great to deal with. The only minor drawbacks I would cite are the following: the mini golf course is used by the Pono Kai guests and, because it is directly across from the condo, it can get noisy; the condo does not have a washer and dryer or wireless internet (you can connect to a wired high speed internet and pay a daily rate for usage); and the staff at the Pono Kai (with whom you should have minimal contact) are neither particularly helpful or knowledgeable. Weighing all the pros and cons, however, I would rent this unit again.
Owner response:Please note there is a small putting green near the condo, but it is not directly in front of it nor does not interfere with the view or access to the beach. The noise level from the occasional user of the putting green is very low. The laundry facility is quite near, just a short walk down the hall.
