Our experience in Granada could not have been any better. My wife, two teenage daughters and I spent a wonderful week in a beautiful , well furnished apartment perfectly located inside the Albaycin. Tho old moorish neighborhood at the foot of the Alhambra. Very clean and up to date, we would take our coffee in the morning and savor the wonderful Spanish wines in the evenings while gazing on the Alhambra from our balcony. Antonio, the owner provided us with every thing we needed, from information, to maps and support to experience Granada and the Alhambra in a way that I could only have dreamed of. Be ready for some serious walking up and down coblestone streets. Be sure to reward your selves at the Hamam, Arab Baths a short walk from the apartment. We have and continue to recommend the accomodations to anyone we talk to that are considering a visit to Granada.

We could not have been happier with this rental property. It was everything that was advertised and more. The property was clean and the view of the Alhambra was amazing. Antonio was so easy to work with and we would stay here again. Easy walking distance to dining and shopping. We were so excited about choosing this rental.

My husband and I felt we were most fortunate to have found Antonio's lovely spacious apartment for our visit in Granada. Friends in a standard hotel were envious. The view and amenities were perfect: a washing machine after two weeks of travelling was especially appreciated! The apartment is quiet and well equipped and Antonio and his family were very helpful in suggesting restaurants nearby. The walk up to the apartment from the centre of town was invigorating, The apartment is on three levels. There are corner convenient food stores nearby. We would love to visit again!

Our visit to Granada could not have been better. We were greeted by Antonio, the owner. Antonio is a delightful man who took great care of us. We found our condo to be very clean and had everything we would need for our stay - even a washer. He shared many stories of places to see and things to do while in Granada. should we return to Granada, spain, we would definitely request our same condo. Julie & Richard

My overall impression of Granada was due largely to the kindness of the apartment owner, Antonio, and his friend Ezequiel. Antonio emailed before our stay to make sure all the details were in order, and called us when we were on our way, then sent his friend Ezequiel to meet us near the apartment so he could lead us there. It was pouring rain and we were quite late, having gotten lost and stopped at bathrooms for our kids... but Ezequiel was as patient and kind as could be, and helped us with parking, bringing our suitcases in, getting us settled, and even driving our car through those narrow streets when we got stuck!! And at the end Antonio stopped by to meet us and make sure we were doing well. Those personal touches really made our experience great. Add to that the astounding location - right in the exotic Albaycin neighborhood and with views out the window of the Alhambra fortress... and it was fantastic. Slept our family of 6 rather tightly but had a well-stocked kitchen.

In reflecting on the year 2012, one highlight was meeting Antonio and staying in his lovingly created home-away-from-home apartment. We were there in October after visitng several other cities in Spain. Granada was our favorite, made more special by Antonio's graciousness and personal guidence. Everything stated in the description is correct....the view of the Alhambra is awesome, the apartment very comfortable, well appointed, and quiet. You will get great exercise hiking through the Albaycin, getting lost in its many alleys. Thanks Antonio!!!

I can say enough good things about this rental property. My girlfriend and my son stayed there for 2 nights and had a wonderful time. The view of the Alhambra from the windows were amazing. Antonio was true to his word on every detail and renting was completely effortless. Thank you again and I promise if we ever return we will stay with you again. Clean, comfortable and in the heart of everything. Cabs and cars were never necessary. I give this 5 stars top to bottom.

We spent a couple of nights in Antonio's apartment and wished we'd planned to stay longer. It was modern, comfortable and well appointed, and most importantly of all, it was in a fantastic location. Communicating with Antonio made finding the apartment easy. He is a wonderful host, warm and friendly and full of valuable local information which he willingly shares. We walked everywhere from the apartment and in the evenings returned to sit on the rooftop patio to enjoy the magical view of the Alhambra. Just make sure one member of your traveling party has a built in GPS, as it is easy to get lost in the labrynthine streets! Not that it really matters as it is a wonderful place to be lost in! We are in our 50's and reasonably fit, so we enjoyed the walks, and as mentioned by other, we recommend only sound walking shoes for maximum comfort on the cobblestone paths. We hope to return one day, and if we do, we will stay in these apartments. Gracias Antonio!!

Five of us (all adults, but including one young adult who didn't mind sleeping in the loft) very much enjoyed one of Antonio's terrific townhomes. Antonio was a wonderful host, telling us about local restaurants--we very much enjoyed the Moroccan restaurant just up the hill--and events (if you are there on a Thursday, be sure to ask for directions to the flamenco club), helping with taxis, etc. His apartment worked fine for us--we thought we may be too cozy, but we were quite comfortable. The location was great--just a short, downhill walk into the main part of Granada. And that breathtaking view of the Alhambra from the apartment!!! Wow. The other big plus was having a washing machine and lines for drying laundry out on the patio--what a treat to leave Granada with our bags filled with clean clothes! The only regret is that we stayed only 3 nights in Granada--we hope to be back, and will definitely stay at Antonio's again!

All other reviews are absolutely on target ! Antonio is a delight and he handles his business simply and honestly. Our family of 8 stayed in the two adjoining apartments and the accomodations suited our needs perfectly. Antonio goes out of his way to make sure all needs are met .He did an excellent job of getting us acclimated to our surroundings, gave us sightseeing and eating suggestions and made arrangements for our pick up and departure transportation He was there to greet us and to bid us adios. .Old Granada is an enchanting, exotic place and we all hope to return soon. And when we do, Antonio will be hearing from us !! We used VRBO throughout our trip in Spain, with Granada being our first stop. Antonio got us off to a great start !

We (my wife, daughter and I) stayed in one of Antonio's apartments in late May 2012. As advertised, we had a stunning view of the Alahambra from our dining room. The apartment is spacious, very clean, had modern appliances, on two floors, with plenty of room for us. The bathroom is very nice, the shower rocks! Everything is within very close walking distance, and you are right in the heart of things. We saw an excellent, authentic flamenco show which was less than a minute walk from the apartment. Antonio is a great person, very helpful and is a gracious host also. He brought us a map and showed us where some of the local sights were. I would highly recommend this apartment, and we would stay there again! Thanks Antonio!

My fiancé and I stayed at this apartment for 10 days while in Granada and couldn't have lived a better experience. The apartment is perfect; clean and everything works. The most beautiful view of Granada from its very own balcony! Location is perfect. but most importantly, we felt in such good hands with the owner Antono, who goes over and above what is expected to make his guests' stay a wonderful experience. He prepared a map for us identifying the less touristy routes to walk through to see the true beauty and secrets of the Albayzin, shared with us where we'd find the best coffee and tapas places. We felt at home and enjoyed going out for a drink with him and found ourselves learning much about Granada and Andalusia. We love meeting people who live and breathe the cities we travel through in journey of travels and Antono was just so. A great person with many life experiences that offer good conversation and authenticity. We would not hesitate to return!

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights during Easter week. It was a great apartment and we really enjoyed our stay. The apartment is very comfortable and the views from the top terrace of the Alhambra are amazing. You enter on the ground floor, which contains the bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom is not very large (but is fine for sleeping) but the bed was great! The bathroom is large and the shower has lots of pressure and hot water. You go up a flight of stairs to the living room/kitchen area which has plenty of room. then you go up a short flight of stairs to the roof terrace which looks out over the old part of the city and the Alhambra. There is a small table and chairs so that you can enjoy the view. Antonio is very helpful and gave us a map with information about where to eat, buy groceries, etc. I agree with prior reviewers that driving in Granada is unnecessary and difficult. This apartment is a short walk to great restaurants and interesting places to explore.

My family and I travelled to Granada to visit with my daughter who is studying there for a semester. It wound up being one of the best vacations I ever had and am so pleased that we decided to stay in the Albaicin, in one of Antonio's apartments. I was apprehensive at first, as I have had no prior experience renting through the vrbo website or directly through apartment owners. However, I had absolutely nothing to worry about. Antonio is probably one of the nicest people I have ever met. He was more than accommodating and provided far better service than I could have ever expected in a hotel. He treated us as though we were old friends and went far beyond the call of duty to help us however he could. For example, my husband joined us several days into our stay and was driving to the Albaicin. Despite having a GPS, he got hopelessly lost. We called Antonio for help with directions. Antonio told us that it was very complicated and within minutes, he came down to meet us and lead us through the Albaicin to the parking area. (As an aside, no car is needed in Granada and I do not recommend driving in the Albaicin). I would not expect, or even think to ask for, such service from a hotel. The apartment itself was beautiful, clean and comfortable. I cannot think of anything I would change or improve upon. It is in a charming area and the view of the Alhambra is spectacular. I highly recommend renting from Antonio and can say, without reservation, that it was the best decision I made. It was a perfect vacation!

This was one of the most comfortable and magical environments I have ever experienced through my VRBO selections over the years. I find this site very reliable and useful, ever time I want to travel somewhere I always check for accommodations here first! The apartment is beautifully decorated (this is certainly subjective, but I can't imagine someone disagreeing :), and everything felt new and clean where you wanted it to be, as well as aged and charming. The views from the living room window are spectacular and every evening we were home, we were graced with the beautifully lit Alhambra, this really reminded us of where we actually were in the moment. We also thoroughly enjoyed the back yard shared patio, where we could hang laundry :), as well as have wine and play music privately. The location is so perfect for experiencing the older areas of Granada, and the neighborhood makes you feel like you actually "live" there. There are welcoming spots to have coffee or dinner and just hang out within minutes of your door. And possibly our favorite part of this experience is Antonio the proprietor! He is a genuine, lovely man, and is more than happy to introduce you to his close friends, one in particular who has a local restaurant in the neighborhood and makes the best humus we have EVER tasted! In our opinion your life will be enriched by choosing to stay in this glorious spot in Granada...we can't wait to return!!! Thank you so much Antonio, xooxoxoxo

We are a family of four and felt we found the perfect place in Antonio's apartment. It is nestled within the charming area of Albacin, but close enough to the rest of the city to walk. Use of cabs and their bus system was easy as well -- once you figure it out. The apartment had everything we needed...including a lovely view of the alhambra. The third floor is an attic which can sleep a couple of people on mattresses on the floor -- there is no room to stand, but the sleeping was comfortable. The pullout couch in the main floor/kitchen/eating area was comfortable, as was the bedroom on the 1st floor. The bathroom was newly renovated, as was the entire apartment -- helping to make it quite comfortable. Antonio is a really warm and welcoming gentleman. He will give you advice or make suggestions as you request. He has all guests meet him at the restaurant Mancha Chica -- a delish hospitality by its owner Najeeb -- not to be missed! Do be cautious if you are visiting Granada -- the walking through Albacin is a bit tricky with their cobble stone streets -- no heels! Make sure you have good solid walking shoes. All in all a wonderful choice!

I stayed here with a friend who was vacationing in Granada, and staying in this apartment, for a month. My girlfriend and I arrived for a week long trip and don't think we could have been in a better place. The space was great for the three of us and could have easily fit more. Everything was comfortable and in great condition. Antonio, the apartment owner, is a great guy and took care of us. The apartment was an easy walk to everywhere we wanted to go. There is a great cafe right around the corner for breakfast. Highly recommend the Moroccan restaurant up the hill a bit, ask Antonio. We were right up the hill from all the shops of Albaicin. The view of the Alhambra is gorgeous and the Alhambra itself was within walking distance (the walk up the hill to the Alhambra can be intense but doable).

When we arrived in Granada, we did not have cell phone service, and weren't sure exactly where this apartment was. We had a map, which was only somewhat helpful. So from the central plaza at the base of the Albaycin, we began to climb up the cobblestone streets with all of our luggage in tow. Long story short, after an exhausting ascent and a lovely dinner nearby, we met up with our friends (who were the official renters) and found ourselves in the most lovely little abode. We were captivated by the view of the Alhambra at night, and fell asleep excitedly in the attic room (up a pull down ladder). Antonio took care of our needs and fixed more than one minor problem. There was ample food nearby, it was not a problem to walk or bus to the parts of Granada we wanted to visit, and with the quality of the accommodations the price was very reasonable. We couldn't have asked for a better stay after too much plane travel and some frantic hours hiking through the streets.

Our family of 7 stayed in two adjoining apartments and had more than enough space. The location is everything for this place. Albaycin is one of the most charming parts of town which one may not otherwise see if you weren't staying there. Downtown really is just a 7-min walk away. And the North African shops and restaurants are just 3 minutes away. Antonio was super helpful and accommodating -- even finding a young responsible college student to babysit for our 3 children so the adults could go out for a quiet dinner. The apartment has all of the creature comforts that one might need. Just a couple of negatives: An electric kettle might be a nice practical addition to the kitchen. And one of the bathrooms did have a really bad smell emanating from it (but I'm sure this is not a permanent feature). All in all, I would stay there again, and would like to thank Antonio for his kindness and attention to our needs. And yes, the view of the Alhambra is spectacular but being winter, we didn't really hang out on the roof to enjoy the view. Something to keep in mind depending on the ages in your party: my 70-yr-old in-laws were with us and they found the walk from the main road down to the apartment (about 5 min) a bit treacherous on the slippery cobblestones. And we have a very mobile 17-month-old - -so we really had to be vigilant of all of the stairs in the apartment.

Antonio is committed to pleasing his guest. Cant thank you enough! The place is recently renovated and very clean. We were a family of 5. Only slight drawback was that 2 single beds were in an attic space. The attic space was fully finished/heated and very clean but not able to stand. (Good for small children but mine are grown) Kind of glad I didn't know ahead of time because I might not have taken it and then I would have missed out on this place. Worked out very well. Would have been nice to have internet also. Cant beat the warmth, caring and pride Antonio takes in trying to help his guest.

We loved our stay in this gorgeous apartment in the Albycin area of Granada. Antonia and her husband Antonia were the lovliest of hosts. We arrived on the night train (so exhausted) and they picked us up from the train station, took our luggage even though our apartment wasn't booked until the afternoon. They had a map ready for us so we set out exploring (and falling asleep on the bus). The apartment had the most beautiful views of the most incredible sight - the Alhambra. The apartment has everything you might need and is in such a stunning area. Antonia's recommendations for restaurants were top notch and we found quite a few more in the area too. And the best thing was the hot water system. After so many apartments with tiny water systems with no pressure, we couldn't believe the pressure and heat that came out of this system. A travellers delight!!! Stay here and you won't regret it!!!

We stayed at this apartment in the Albaicin with our family of 3 children. The apartment was fabulous in the old section of the city. Accommodations were comfortable and adequate. Our children enjoyed staying in the attic. The apartment was very clean and like the photo's and it had everything in it for a comfortable stay. We arrived late in evening the charming owner Antonio greeted at the neat by restaurant Mancha Chica. Antonio and restaurant owner helped with the our language in the hilly, narrow cobbled tiny streets. Since it was late we Antonio brought us some milk for the baby. He was extremely helpful and only a phone call away. The Mancha Chica has great Moroccan food, had dinner their twice. The view of palace from the apartment was incredible. Location is safe, walked around in the evening with children. Highly recommend this place and Antonia.

A group of my friends decided to meet in Granada for a long weekend and Antonio's place exceeded our expectations. The direct view from our balcony to the Alhambra was better than the picture posted here. The location of this property is in the heart of the Albaycin and two doors away from El Trillo Restaurant, one amazing restaurant. I'm going back to Granada and for sure I'll be staying at the same location. Very clean, quiet, and few blocks away from everything. Thank you Antonio for hosting a bunch of friends from California and Chicago

We had a fabulous time at Antonio's apartment. This was our first trip to Granada, which we absolutely loved, and the location of the apartment was perfect to really enjoy the best part of the city. Antonio was wonderful to deal with. He was very easy going and accommodating. The apartment itself was very clean and modern -- very well done. Couple quibbles were that we could have used a few more comforts like more towels, basics for cooking, Internet, etc. Otherwise a very enjoyable stay. Thank you Antonio!

The apartment is in the Albaicin, the old section of the city (hilly, narrow cobbled tiny streets) which has lots of charm and character. The owner Antonio (a really charming man who speaks excellent English) knows that the place is tricky to find so he suggests you get a cab to a nearby rendesvous spot (bar La Mancha Chicca or something like this - great food). He met us there and helped us take our cases to the apartment and gave us lots of tips about great walks to do and places out of town to see. The apartment we stayed in was 1 bedroom and is one of several he has available in the same building. It was perfect for the two of us. It had 3 levels; bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor, kitchen and living room on the next and a beautiful terrace (private) to look over the Alhambra and see the sunset! The apartment was very clean and like the photo's and it had everything in it for a pleasant comfortable stay, however at the time of our visit it didn't have the internet (but that was being arranged). Spain (relative to Australia where we live) can be a noisy place particularly the older sections of towns where streets are narrow and night-time revellers go past on their way home - but as tourists who didn't have to get to work the next day, it wasn't a big deal for us. The location of the apartment really added to our experience as we walked everywhere except to the Alhambra (bus from city centre) and were able to soak up the cosmopolitan and vibrant atmosphere. My tip for Spain - forget vanity and take sturdy, supportive walking shoes and walk as much as you can. My tips for staying at this apartment - enjoy drinks and your evening meal on the terrace, keep luggage to a minimum and don't try to find the place on your own. Thanks for a great stay Antonio - we will return.

This is a really nice apartment in a fantastic location. It was surprisingly quiet, given that it is in the heart of such a vibrant part of the city. The views really are incredible. Antonio, the owner, is one of the kindest and most helpful people you will ever meet. (We had some problems during our time in Spain, unrelated to the apartment itself, and Antonio went out of his way to help us.) We have stayed in many apartments in various places in Europe, and seldom have we had such a good experience. It is rare that a listing is so truthful about what you will find when you arrive. There are no exaggerations here (well, I am a bit skeptical about a couple being comfortable in the convertible couch). The place and its location really are as advertised. Stay here when in Granada and you will be very pleased that you did.

There is so much to say that I don't know where to start. Antonio who is the owner of these apartments is seriously the nicest guy ever. Antonio was very helpful and made sure that our stay was perfect. The apartments are very new and recently renovated. You cannot find any apartment in Granada with such amenities as these for such an affordable/competitive price. The view alone is worth a million dollars. We enjoy the city and come back and sit on the balcony and enjoy the view of the palace. Antonio made sure that we arrived at the apartment, He got us situated and gave us information, maps, and any other information that we asked for in order to make our travel more enjoyable and easier. Antonio only lives a walk away from the apartments so anytime you need something he will come right away and give you whatever you want. I actually stayed in Granada twice with my friends and family and both times called Antonio to have me stay in one of his places. I would never visit Granada and stay anywhere else. I recommend anyone who is planning on visiting Granada to visit the palace to stay at one of Antonio's apartments. You will get the most for your money. It is a 2 floor apartment with new furniture. It has a large kitchen for anyone who wants to prepare meals instead of eating out all of the time. IT also has a washer which is convenient in case you want to wash your clothes rather than wasting time to find dry cleaners. I also felt very safe in the neighborhood. The neighborhood is historical with stone roads so I felt that I was living back in 700 AD! THe day we left Granada, Antonio made sure that we had a taxi ready to take us back to the bus station. Antonio also took us on a walk that is only known to the locals. The walk was very scenic and gave us the best views of the city and the palace that we could not see anywhere else. During that walk, Antonio took us through the city where the Gypsies lived and introduced us to long time friend who is a Gypsi and owned a bar/restaurant. The bar/restaurant was located in a cave and the neighboring spots consisted of authentic Spanish food and had flamengo dancing everywhere. Antonio became a friend and I hope to see him again. Seriously if you are interested in visiting, do not waste your time looking at other hotels. You will not find anything better than this. trust me!!

We spent a week here in early July 2011. We comfortable slept 3 people in one of the apartments. It had an amazing view of the Alhambra. The owner is extremely helpful and answered all of our questions.

As travellers we like to get a little taste of what day to day life may be like in the places we visit so we chose Antonio's as it was right in the middle of the old Albacin quarter of Granada. The location is incredible, set right beside a small sun trap of a square and a short stroll downhill to vibrant eateries, tea houses and shops. The Alhambra could be seen from our private balcony, set in all its' glory you can relax and watch the sun go down over the ancient ramparts. For those looking to explore just taking a step outside into the labyrinthine streets brings you right back in time as you walk the cobbled pathways designed for a life in the middle ages but still traversed today. We had our 18 month old son with us, unfortunately his stroller wasn't cut out for the hills and the cobbles so he spent most of the time on our shoulders or learning to perfect his new trick - walking.. If you have a baby a back pack to carry him or her in would be better than a buggy. The only negative that we can think of was that it is a little difficult to drive into the Albacin, we would have been lost, literally, without our sat nav. If you have a lot of luggage it can be a bit of trek from where you park your car to the apartment so if you are staying a few days just bring what you need and leave the rest in the car. Having said that, a real part of the charm of this location is that there are no cars and the pedestrian is king! Antonio himself couldn't have been more helpful and he showed us true Spanish hospitality, he speaks a number of languages so he made it easy for us to settle in particularly with our baby! He also knows where the best coffee in Granada is served. The apartment is clean and has everything you need but by far the best aspect is the location - you will not want to stay too long inside when the delights of this beautiful and unique city wait outside. Highly recommended!
