we stayed eight nights and had a jammed pack schedule while we were in Hawaii. It was nice to come back after a long day to a place that felt like home. With the money we saved by not staying at a hotel we were able to splurge on activities and meals while still staying within our budget. since the studio is outfitted with nearly everything you can think of we were able to save room in our luggage to bring more gifts back home with us. Henry provides snorkel gear that you can take to many of the top rated beaches that he has listed for you. you won't find a Hotel with better service, location, accommodations, and price. We can't wait to come back!

What a fantastic find! The studio was a perfect base for our all-too short trip to the Big Island to celebrate my birthday. From daily breakfast on the private lanai, with a stunning view, to the warm hospitality of Henry and Marusya, we could not have found anything better. Henry has thought everything! A fully equipped kitchen, beach chairs, towels, snorkel gear, you name it, even reusable grocery bags! The studio is wonderfully maintained, clean, and exactly as depicted in the listing. The location was perfect - minutes from town, the beaches and excellent snorkeling spots, but quiet and removed. It was so lovely to share coffee in the morning with only the sounds of the birds and ocean beyond. We would recommend this property without hesitation! We hope to return to the island soon and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else! Thank you, Henry and Marusya, for a wonderful stay! Mahalo, Patty and Lucas

If you are looking for a comfortable, clean, quiet, place to stay, this is it. I loved the views, the garden, the cleanliness, the peace and quiet. I loved listening to the ocean when I went to sleep. I thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub! I will go back. I recommend this place to anyone.

My husband and I really liked this place. It was very clean, the area seemed safe, and the owner was very friendly and super helpful. The distance from the condo to Captain Cook, good restaurants, and other attractions was not bad at all. We only stayed two nights, and unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to use the hot tub that's just steps outside the sliding glass door. We got in later both nights and there is a 9 or 9:30 curfew on using it. We did take advantage of borrowing the snorkel gear that the owner has out. That saved us from renting the equipment, so that was great. Had several different options and sizes. All in all, I'd recommend this place to any couple looking for a clean place to stay near Kona. And the one-bedroom next door was huge and super nice too, if you're bringing a family or staying for a longer time.

Great accommodation, very comfortable. Amazing view, with hot tub and lanai/garden. We were going to buy beach chairs but Henry provides everything you need for a beach outing. The charming studio had everything we needed for making a quick meal. The place is central for exploring the whole west coast. Four nights were too short a time. We would like to visit Henry and Marusya again. They were so helpful and friendly. Chris and Jacquie Sidney, B.C.

Thank you, We enjoyed staying in your studio very much. We sure appreciated using the snorkel gear, cooler, beach chairs, beach bag and even the beach towels. I thought we would have to buy or rent all that gear and using what you supplied was a treat. The Kailua-Kona area is wonderful and being in the cooler air on the hill made using the hot tub so enjoyable. The area was quiet and we felt like residents instead of visitors. I would recommend your place to anyone. PS: The hiking/biking trail nearby, which crosses the hillside, was a wonderful place to see birds and a plus to your location.

A great studio with beautiful ocean and sunset view. The unit is stocked with all the amenities for the beach, information about Kona and comforts of a hotel. This property makes a comfortable base being situated in a convenient location to the main town and excellent snorkeling spots nearby. Henry makes a wonderful host. He is very friendly, accommodating and knowledgable, offering great tips about the Big Island. Overall we would highly recommend this great place and would stay here again when we return. We arrived in Kona and found our car reservation had fallen through, Got to Henry's and he immediately went to work on the problem and found us a rental car for 1/3 of the price we would pay the big companies. While he was doing this he also fed us and soothed our nerves. He is a prince among men. So very very helpful, sincere and compassionate. He is extremely interested in his guests and welcomes all into his home as well as being very approachable and willing to share his knowledge of the area with you. The suite is superb. Everything you could want from snorkel equipment, boogie boards, beach towels, beach chairs, coolers you name it, it's here. The suite is impeccably clean, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The sunset view is beautiful and the location is ideal. The tv has more channels than there is stars in the night sky. A great BBQ with back up propane. Suffice it to say I reccomend without reservation the studio (pardon the pun). If we are ever back in Kona this is where we'll be. Thank you Henry. Craig & Joanne

My wife and I were looking for somewhere to stay for a week on the Big Island and we found the ideal place with Henry and Marusya's studio. This place had everything we needed and more, including a fully equipped kitchen and beach+snorkelling equipment to borrow. They seemed to have thought of everything when the kitted the place out. The accommodation is ideally located if you have a car to get to all of the sights on the island within about 2 hours or less. We would fully recommend this place to a couple looking for a quiet and comfortable base while exploring the Big Island!

Management We just finished our stay at Henry and Marusya's place. It was excellent. This is the first time we have used VRBO and were pleasantly surprised. Henry and Marusya are friendly and helpful. The studio is well stocked with all of the things that you would need for a beach vacation . .cooler, ice and ice maker, tupperware for bringing snacks to the beach. They also have many of the small but important comforts of a hotel -- soap, lotion, tea and coffee. The studio is also stocked with information about Kona. In short, the owners do a great job of managing the units and making your stay very easy and enjoyable. Studio The studio itself is large with a beautiful ocean view. There is a nice patio furnished with chairs and a table where you can have morning coffee or meals. The entire unit is exceptionally clean and the bathroom has been entirely updated. Location The studio is in an ideal location. Many of the best snorkeling spots in or around Kona are on this side of town, making it very convenient. (Henry and Marusya also have snorkel equipment that you can use.) Costco is on the northside of Kona so if you plan to shop there it is probably easiest to do it on your way in but there is also a Walmart and Safeway about three miles from the property..

My partner and I really enjoyed the location and the welcoming owners of this great holiday rental. We stayed in the studio apartment which was really well set up and had everything we needed. The information provided by Henry as very useful and we made good use of beach equipment supplied. Very comfy bed and a great hot tub on the front porch was put to good use. All in all we rate this place highly and would recommend to anyone looking to stay in a great place run by friendly and passionate owners. Thanks again to Henry and Marusya for helping to make our stay in Kona a memorable one.

My sister & I stayed here for a few nights. The place is very clean, situated on a beautiful hill overlooking the surroundings. There's a cute balcony outside with some vegetables & flower beds. There is also boogie boarding gear avail, which was a great use at the magic sands beach, very close by. We loved our stay here & would def come back again. The owner was super friendly & nice.

We were first time visitors to The big island, Hawaii which says that we had limited knowledge of the place and activities around. We got fair amount of knowledge about the place from the owner. We had a great staying here. The house is very near to all the beaches in kona and 3 miles away from downtown and 10 miles from airport which was an added advantage. The house was great with all the amenities provided like snorkeling gears, paddle boat, binoculars etc. We stayed there for 6 days and had a great time enjoying the view from the house. For me, this came out to be the best place to stay. Thanks to the owners for the wonderful welcome and experience. Great accommodation for 2 adults and 1 kid with a kitchen too.

We were fortunate enough to find this amazing place on the Big Island with the perfect host in Henry and Marusya, from the minute we met them both we felt like we had known them forever, not only was there lovely accomodation in an amazing spot with gorgeous views ,it was also peaceful and serene. The studio had everything we were looking for in accomodation right down to the snorkels, boogie boards and the good old bbq which we used of course being Aussies aswell as a full size fridge. Both Henry and Marusya gave us some great tips on what to see on the beautiful Big Island aswell as letting us in some great eating spots. We had heaps of laughs with them both and even managed to have the odd drink or 2 with them also, great hosts, great location, great island, great accomodation and a great start to our dream holiday on our very first trip to Hawaii.Mahalo Henry and Marusya

This place is just perfect, the location, the view, the hosts, the appartment everything was just great! We loved it and would come back anytime. Unfortunately we did not get to meet Henry but we met his loveley wife marusia she was very kind, surprised us with fresh fruits in the morning from their own garden, and was very comforting during the tsunami evacuation. The sunset view out of the hottub was amazing, and the appartment was very clean and offered everything you need.

The appartment is great. Very compfertable bed, big TV with lots of Moviechannels, a hot tube with view to the ocean. As we cook the kitchen was very importend for us, and it has everything you need to cook. There is also a BBQ to use. The whole place is very clean with a stunning sunset view and a quiet neighborhood. The Owners - Henry and Marusya - are very nice and really care about your stay. They showed us Kona and gave us tipps where the fresh market and the best beaches to snorkel are (There is also snorkelinggears to use). If we go to Kona again, we know for sure, where we stay again.

We stayed in the studio for the first week of September for our first trip to the Big Island. Accommodations are simple, but very nice. We had everything we needed to cook our own meals (which was very important to us) and the room is comfortable and relaxing. The TV is great, and lots of channels to choose from. The hot tub is very private, and provides a great sunset view. Henry, the owner, and his wife were super nice to us and gave us directions around town, recommended places to visit, and even hooked us up with some fresh mangos from the mango tree in their yard! The best thing about this apartment however is it's location. It is just perfect; takes just minutes to get into town if you have any errands to run (like snagging some poke, or spirits) or to go out to eat. It is also less than ten minutes from one of the better snorkeling spots on the island and less than a half hour from the best beaches and the best snorkeling spots (in my opinion at least, City of Refuge) on the island. So basically you won't have to drive more than an hour, and probably considerably less, for nearly anything you may want to do on the Kona Coast. The most important part for any trip, unless you plan to spend it all in your room, is location. You don't want to be hours away from everything fun to do. That, thankfully, is not a problem here! Last, but not least, is the hot tub. It's great; you share it with the unit next door but we lucked out and nobody was renting this week so we had it all to ourselves. Nothing beats coming home after a fun day out than sitting in your own private hot tub to watch the sun set over the ocean. Even if the other unit was rented sharing a tub with one other group is a lot better than sharing with an entire hotel complex (as is often the case). Overall, I would highly recommend the mango house or the neighboring unit (which is a bit nicer in terms of amenities though both are great) to anybody looking for an affordable stay on the Kona Coast of Hawaii's Big Island.

Our stay at the Mango House - 1 bedroom & studio was exactly what we were looking for: quiet neighborhood, close to town & the ocean, away from the noise of downtown, convenience of a kitchen, beautiful sunset views, reasonably priced. The accommodations were ideal for our family: a separate studio (#353168) for Grandma and a 1 bedroom apt (#337091) for my husband , teenager and I. We had the choice of cooking at home in the fully equipped kitchen or going out to one of the many great restaurants close by. Henry has everything we needed – snorkel and masks, beach chairs & towels, cooler, boogie boards, books, maps and guides,WiFi internet, & premium channels on the flatscreen TV. The units are clean and well appointed & maintained. We were very comfortable and very well taken care of thanks to Henry’s and Marusia’s attention to detail & wonderful, friendly welcome! What a treat to sit right out the back door on the lanai and enjoy the sunset views or morning coffee or soak in the hottub. Highly recommended! Affordable, great location, nice owner! Can’t wait to go back.

I've enjoyed my quick getaway here, and it was everything as advertised! I needed some quick time off and this Studio fit the bill perfectly. The owner's description, the price, the amenities were as described and actually the owner was above the bar in hospitality. The rental was impeccable, well appointed, and conveniently located. The View was great, and being able to look out and see the ocean and rest of the scene was very nice. The Parasailing was really cool, shopping at the local stores easy and being able to go north or south to various beaches was nice as well. I especially enjoyed, south point and the black sands beaches, being able to take some pictures of the sea turtles was neat. I'd recommend this rental to anyone wanting rest, peace and quiet, and having a great time. Having such a short stay this time (yes, I'll be coming back and staying here if possible) I didn't get out to much in the way of restaurants, so checking out the local cuisine is on the agenda next time. For scuba divers there are several dive shops. One that I visited was able to locate my PADI certification without any problems at all. Upon my return, I'll hope to do some snorkeling and diving, not just getting my toes in the water and feet in the sand. I've had a most enjoyable stay at the Mango House.

We stayed at this place on our recent trip to Big Island. It is a great location for those looking to stay on the Kona side.....a couple of miles from Alii st where all the action is...beaches, kayaking, shops & restaurants. The owner Henry is a friendly guy and took the trouble of showing us around even though we arrived late at night from the Hilo (Volcano!) part of our trip. He has a few nice cheat sheets that list popular things to do in the area with phone numbers for those strapped for time....the place is easy to locate....just off the kakilani why...which is a main thoroughfare in Kona.....Definitely recommended!!

Me and wife had a wonderful stay at this place. This was our first stay in a private rented home, and it exceeded our expectation in every way. Henry and Marusya have thought of every major and minor need a renter would have here. This was our Honeymoon, and so Henry had a Champagne bottle for us in the Refrigerator! We had total privacy in our home through all 7 days we stayed here. The bathroom was recently renovated and has been done quite nicely. Kitchen had everything one can need, somethings we don't have even in our own house! There was snorkel gear and beach chairs for our use. Internet helped us in planning for the next day. The LCD TV and so many channels in there was helpful in winding down after a 'busy' day. Downtown is easily approachable and lots of activities to do nearby. Walmart, Safeway and K-Mart are close too. While leaving, Henry didn't care of inspecting the house when we checkout. I don't want to set expectation for anyone here, but I thought this was a nice gesture.

My husband and myself enjoyed our stay at marusya's and henry's studio. We love the tiled floors, and all the upgrades. The hottub was fun too after a day of touristing! The owner has everything a traveler would need in this upgraded unit. Thanks so much for the aloha The price was very affordable too- Dianne

We are from taiwan and enjoyed our stay at Henry and Marusyas unit here in Kona. One of us was in the ironman and the hottub was a lifesaver after the race to say the least! We will book next year as well-The price can't be beat- Shuhui and Jo

The descriptions in the listing and the photos are completely accurate. This unit is very clean, well furnished and comfortable. Parking is just a few steps away from the door. The unit is a short, easy drive from the main highway used to travel anywhere in the Kona area. It is located in a very nice residential neighborhood 3 or 4 miles away from the tourist areas. The neighborhood is very quiet with very little traffic. A nice hiking trail is just a short walk away. The furniture and flooring are fairly new and very clean. This is one of the cleanest condos I have rented in the area. Seating and bedding are very comfortable and are of good quality. Cable TV has many premium channels available and the wireless internet is fast and reliable. There is a small patio to sit on just outside the unit and you can see the ocean and the sunset from there. The sunsets can also be enjoyed from the hot tub on the patio. This is a very good place for anyone wanting a low cost place to stay in this area. It has everything needed to rest and relax and recuperate from your daily work or excursions.

My wife an I enjoyed a long stay at this quiet studio with excellent ocean views and close to Kailua-Kona town. Hosts, Marusya and Henry, are very friendly and take care of all your needs. The studio is well equipped with everything needed for cooking and beach-going trips. This studio is a real prize!

We just arrived from Florida and were very jetlagged. Henry and marusya were very accomodating and had a lot of aloha when we checked in! We slept so well at the Sunset studio and highly reccommend it! The unit had everything from a vizeo hd tv to snorkel gear and tommy bahama chairs! larry and theresa

Although my stay was short, it was nice to get away from home and visit Kona with all it's charm. Henry's place is well appointed and has been recently remodled. It was very clean upon arrival and Henry was always available when needed. I would not hesitate to recommend his place to my friends.
