Cape Cod is a famous vacation destination. West Yarmouth in particular is full of history and activity. No matter the size or make up of your vacationing party, you'll find it all within a 35 minute drive. For those who want physical activity, there is hiking, horseback riding or bicycle riding along bike trails that meander throughout Cape Cod, weaving on and off of the coast line, or simply travel a spectacular section - The National Seashore Bike Paths.
Some of the area's finest golf courses are only minutes away - Bayberry Hills, Cranberry Valley, The Captain's Golf Course, Ocean Edge, King's Way (Executive course - par 59), The Highland Golf Links (9 hole course - first golf course built on Cape Cod in 1892 and is right next to the Highland Lighthouse & Museum). Many fancy miniature golf courses are also within a 10 minute drive, including Pirate's Cove.

The ocean brings with it lots of water sports such as sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, parasailing, jet skiing, water biking, deep sea fishing; and of course there is swimming at any of the beaches on the Cape including Colonial Acres, 100 ft from the house or try some the others nearby such as Sea Gull Beach or Englewood Beach.

For a more relaxing time, check out the shops and galleries in the artsy community of Provincetown, or visit museums of many varieties (JFK in Hyannis, historic, nature, fine arts, children's, maritime, railroad, fire, classic cars). You can do some bird watching or spend some time in the local playhouses and cinemas or even go on a whale watch. Want to see how the pilgrims lived? About a one hour drive away is Plimoth Plantation where the community acts, dresses, and talks like they did in the 17th century. Closer to home is Heritage Plantation which has automobile, carousel and military museums, and a windmill all surrounded by acres of flower gardens.

Of course you don't want to miss Nantucket (rent a jeep and drive the seashore) and Martha's Vineyard (see where all those famous people live) while you are in the area. For a true walk through history, sporting events and some of the finest restaurants in the country, Boston is 79 miles and about a 90 minute drive away.

This cozy, three-bedroom/two-bath home is a charming example of a New England shake-shingled house with all the modern conveniences. It's 100 feet from the beach, and offers views of the Atlantic Ocean and Lewis Bay. You'll enjoy watching the activity in the bay -- windsurfers, sailboat races, and ferries traveling to/from Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard.

The home features an open floor plan, where a bank of glass sliders provides views of Lewis Bay and all its vibrant activities. There is a living room with a fireplace, vaulted ceiling with ceiling fans, and loft. There is a dining area and pass through kitchen eating counter along with a separate laundry room on the first floor. The kitchen is well equipped with refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, stove/oven, coffee maker and coffee grinder, blender, mixer, toaster oven, electric can opener, a spice collection, and a wide assortment of cooking utensils and gadgetry should you decide to eat in.

The main living area includes a large TV with DVD, VCR and a video collection in both formats. There is also a stereo with radio, CD player and a CD collection. Upstairs has an open loft area with a game table. Games include puzzles, assorted card games, checkers, Uno, Sorry, Monopoly, Yahtzee and others.

The master bedroom with queen bed has it's own fireplace and views of Lewis Bay with TV/DVD/VCR player, and sliders that open for fresh salt air and summer breeze that you will remember long after you return home.

The second bedroom downstairs has a set of twin beds with TV/DVD/VCR. The 3rd bedroom upstairs has a set of twin beds, set of bunk beds and view of the ocean round out the sleeping arrangements you'll find in our home. This bedroom also has a TV/DVD/VCR and Sony Playstation 2, with games included. All bedrooms have alarms, radios, and bed side lights.

An expansive ocean side deck with gas grill and almost entirely enclosed yard allow for summertime family fun cooking out and playing games on the lawn. Sand chairs for the beach are also provided.

You'll excite all your senses with the beautiful views and the great sea and salt air. As you take it all in, you may discover that this is the real fountain of youth!

Enjoy relaxing on the deck while sipping a glass of wine with your New England clam chowder, as the day winds down and the winds pick up. Take in all the mystical New England landscape!

And in the evening, why not prepare that perfect seafood meal in our fully-equipped kitchen -- complete with a lobster pot and coffee grinder!

Meticulous attention to decorating details gives this home a wonderful combination of historic Cape Cod charm and modern comfort. You'll feel like your own home has moved surfside!

What more could you ask for? Come on in. The water is fine!

    • My family had the most wonderful vacation at Four Winds on the Cape. The house was perfectly situated. We walked over to the sand every morning with our coffee, watched the sailboats and the fishermen. A perfect way to start the day. We ended each day on the upstairs balcony, watching the sun set. We will definitely be back.

    • The cottage was wonderful. I especially enjoyed the view from the balcony. The kids enjoyed the loft and spiral staircase. My husband enjoyed the feel of total relaxation. All the amenities made it so comfortable that we didn't want to leave! We had an amazing vacation staying at Upwind. It's been our best rental cottage to date and hope to return next year!

    • Stayed at Upwind from 7/7-7/14. The house is great, has a lot of nice extras for use (movies, music, beach chairs etc.) The location is wonderful. We were fortunate to catch a beautiful fireworks display over Lewis Bay from the upper balcony of the house. Th beach was clean, the water warm and the fish were biting. A great vacation for our family!

    • We took a girl trip to the Cape and were lucky enough to find this treasure of an ocean home. The home is immaculate and charming but equally as important is dealing with Brian and Gail. They are so accomodating and helpful, I feel as though I have made new friends. As landlords, they were prompt with contracts and returned securtiy deposits, and made sure that our every need was met. I will return next year for two weeks, hopefully :)

    • What a wonderful stay we had at Upwinds in West Yarmouth. We felt very "at home" because of all the accomadations the Quinn's provide. Our children ages 6 and 3 thoroughly enjoyed the crabbing and shelling right in Lewis Bay. We loved the views from the deck and balcony and the assessibility to all the family attractions on Route 28. From bumper boats and Go Carts to ice-cream and shopping, we did it all! These memories will certainly last a life time!

    • We just left today and we already miss it. My family enjoyed every minute of this long awaited vacation. We stayed in a beautiful home with every comfort you could think of. The views are great, the deck and balcony were wonderful, the breeze from the ocean is refreshing and the sunsets were breath taking. Our children already want to return to sleep in the loft and climb down the spiral staircase to wake us every morning at 6 a.m. Every memory made here will be treasured.

    • This was a wonderful way to escape the June heatwave that Connecticut experienced while I spent several days in the cooler climate of Cape Cod. The Quinn's cottage is all they claim it to be and much more. Very relaxing and close to all the photographic opportunities that I could squeeze into a few short days. The beach was great for sunning, walking, shell and rock searching and enjoying the view. A great place for family and friends. Highly recommended.

    • We really enjoyed our stay, there is so much to do beaches, shopping, Heritage Plantation, Plymouth Village. We enjoyed bike riding on paved paths through the National Seashore. The cottage had everything we needed, better equipped than our own home! We really enjoyed the deck and the kids loved the spiral stairs and the loft area above the living room. We hope to return again.

    • We just came home from a week at "Upwind" and I cried all the way home, I didn't want to leave. It was soooo relaxing AND we had two 16yr olds & three 13yr old boys with us. didn't hear "I'M BORED" once!!!!! There was so much for them to do. They fished & tried to catch crabs for hours. They could play in the yard, or on the street! It was a very safe & quiet neighborhood. Then there's batting cages, golf, mini-golf, driving range trampolines, Zooquarium, go -carts, they are literally minutes away. There was plenty of room & all the bedrooms where so big, they could actually hang out in them!! AND the loft area with the balcony was a Godsend. The view is breathtaking. I can't say enough about this vacation home. All you need to bring is your suit & sunscreen, THEY supplied everything else. Have Fun!!! Tom & Dianne Jordan
