The owner of the property was fantastic to work with. I could not have asked for anyone to be more kind. His mantra was, "If you are happy, I am happy." The cabin was cozy, clean and whimsically decorated (I absolutely loved the "Don't Flush" list in the restroom). The cabin is conveniently located to Guntersville area attractions and some really great restaurants and not far from Huntsville if you want to be a part of the metro scene. This was my first visit back to the area since relocating from Alabama in August of 2012. The cabin worked well for accommodations for my visit. It was private, and yet easily accessible from the highway. I would highly recommend this vacation property for a nice getaway!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful lakeside cabin with us! This cabin accommodated three adults and three children very nicely. Thanksgiving day we entertained a total of 10 people and had plenty of room and amenities. We had a campfire down at the lake two nights in a row......what beautiful evenings and memories! The owner was easy to get in touch with, and was very responsive to our needs. We were pleasantly surprised that there were so many utensils, dishes, pots and pans, etc. I didn't need to bring hardly any of the stuff I packed! We would definitely stay here again. Thanks!!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The view was beautiful and the balcony was the perfect place to sit and drink it in. The house was spotless and everything was provided to make a stay comfortable dish, pots and pans, etc... The owner even e-mailed us to make sure that our stay was just right and to ask if there was anything he could do to make our stay even more comfortable! This vacation was just what a vacation should be restful, hassle free, and safe in the knowledge that the owner cares about your comfort. We will be back and I will recommend it to everyone.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: You are the reason I enjoy doing what I do. I am so glad your stay was just what you were looking for. Thank you for sharing your experience at Camp Run-a-Muck and can't wait to have you back. Sincerely, Scott

Comfortable. Lakefront is misleading. Should say across rd. from backwater. Swing needs replacing. Hand towels desperately need replacing! Relaxing place for adults, but I would have been disappointed had we brought the grandchildren as there was not a good place to fish. Two pontoon boats parked at only pier so no place to tie up our boat, so glad we didn't bring it. We had expected to view water from a water front cabin, so view was disappointing. Also sink drains into side of driveway which must be a health hazard. Price was very reasonable, so if you just want a cabin to chill out in for weekend, it's ok.Owner response: Linda, -I want to thank you for taking the time to provide this review. I value your review as I know your time is precious. I am sorry your stay was not all that you expected it would be. I try very hard to make sure everyone’s stay is special to them so I take your comments to heart. I agree with some of your comments, but disagree with others. -In regards to the idea of the listing being a bit misleading, I have done my best to put together photos and detailed descriptions that I best represent the house. In addition, I try to talk with every potential guest to make sure my cabin is the right fit for them. -In regards to your disappointment of the view of the lake from the house, I'm sorry the view was not as you envisioned it. There are photos on my listing taken from the cabin just below the deck which faces the water. This is the exact view you were disappointed with. I feel like if you had seen this photo you would have known exactly what the view would be like here. -I’m sorry you feel the water is like “backwater”. I assure you the water in this area is not backwater and is part of Lake Guntersville. There are deep spots and there are shallow spots all along the Lake Guntersville. As I told you over the phone, the water is not that deep in this area. -In regards to your comment about there not being a good place to fish, I recall talking to you about this over the phone. I recall telling you there is a launch for your boat less than 1/2 mile up the road. If you would have brought your fishing boat, you could have fished this entire area. There are plenty of fisherman that fish in this area all the time and talk about how good the fishing is. -In regards to your comment about being glad you did not bring your grandchildren, I will say that plenty of people have brought their kids and grandkids in the past and have had fun. -In response to your comment about the hand towels, I typically swap the older towels out with newer towels when the older ones have gotten too old. Also, I hold the bath towels to a higher standard than the hand towels that are typically just used to clean dishes with. -In closing I would like to state the main reason I rent this cabin is simple. I want to give others the opportunity to stay in a cabin on the lake for an affordable price. I hope in the future that you find a cabin to better suite your needs. -Sincerely Scott

We had a fabulous stay at Camp Run A Muck. It was perfect for our hiking weekend to Cathedral Caverns, Russell Cave and Walls of Jericho. Cabin was clean, well maintained, and decorated great! The pictures have the cabin painted yellow, it has recently been painted red. It was located right off of highway 431, so highway noise could bother some. There is no dishwasher and washing machine, so pack accodingly (paper plates and plastic utesils if you don't like to wash dishes by hand). If you are used to camping, this is a great relief from tent camping. We cooked and enjoyed the creature comforts of home. The owner was very helpful and friendly. She even provided a courtsey cell phone (T-Mobile doesn't have coverage at the cabin, but does at the top of the mountain) and wireless internet for us. We will come again to stay! We had a great trip!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
