Just a block from the beach this quaint house is perfect for a family get away. First bedroom has queen bed, second has a bunk bed and a twin bed w/twin trundle, a futon sofa in the living area and 2 portable queen air beds with plenty of linens. After a day in the sun & surf have a BBQ in your own private fenced yard while enjoying the cool ocean air. This neighborhood has the amenities of the big city but the feel of an old fashion seaside town. Neighborhood markets, coffee shops, & diners sprinkle the sidewalks with character.
Less than a mile down the road is the Historical Oceanside Pier, enjoy the walk or don't be afraid to take your car there is plenty of inexpensive parking unlike most Southern California beach communities. See a movie, have an ice cream, or just stroll through the shops around the pier. Fine dining is also available at 333 Pacific located in the newest luxury resort in Oceanside. Follow the road for just another mile and visit Oceanside Harbor. Here you can enjoy outside dining, shopping, coffee, or just watch the small vessels coming in and out of the waterways.
If relaxing is not what you come for there is plenty of nearby attractions. Legoland is a few miles away in Carlsbad, CA. Gaze at animals in their natural habitats at the unique San Diego Safari Park less than 30 miles away in Escondido. Located just off the 5 freeway Oceanside is about 30 miles from San Diego where the world famous San Diego Zoo & Sea World are located. Enjoy history by taking a tour of the USS Midway. Make a day of adventure out of it and ride the Coaster from the Oceanside Train Depot right into downtown San Diego! LA/Orange county attractions like Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Studios, Hollywood are all within an easy 100 miles.

Manager/Owner were accommodating with last minute plans. Home was large enough for entire family with plenty of space. Front yard with patio and grass was perfect for our dog--he just loved it!! Owner provided use of boogie boards, beach chairs, etc... Well stocked market only a few houses away was a life saver for last minute groceries, wine, treats and anything else you might need. Home has a washer/dryer so no need to pile up dirty clothes. Oceanside beach is great for boogie boarding and surfing or just hanging out at the beach. Very family oriented. Not the typical tourist trap with all the pricy restaurants and vendors. Just a no-nonsense easy to get to beach with great waves and lots of sand!! Coming from AZ, this is exactly what we wanted. Train is very close to house so it took a few days to get used to the noise, but after being at the beach all day, we slept fine. Overall, the home is a great value for the price. No noisy neighbors to deal with since this is a house (not a condo or townhome). We would recommend this home to families of 4+ who want a bargain close to the beach.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.

Very cozy and quaint . Loved it! Easy. Access to everything .Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, people with disabilities.

About the owner: We made Oceanside our permanent residence in 1996. We always loved the ocean and water sports and when we discovered Oceanside we knew this little 'diamond in the rough' would be our home. Since then we have raised our 4 children into husbands, wives, moms, & dads themselves now living around the Western US. While Oceanside will always feel like home to all of our family we are lucky enough to have the health & time to travel to enjoy our children & grandchildren.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes:
This house was purchased in 2006 as part of an investment in long term rentals. We have owned a larger property that we used for vacation rentals for the last several years but recently scaled down and the opportunity came to turn this house into a vacation rental. We really enjoy the charm and quaint feel of Oceanside and even though the city has made strides in bringing commerical investments to our town the residents remain loyal to the community... it is really unique.
