My wife and I stayed here for three days while attending a friend's wedding in Tacoma. The cabin was wonderful! We absolutely loved getting away from it all. The hot tub and sauna were awesome. We will definitely keep this place in mind when we travel this way again. Thanks Tammi!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My boyfriend and I just got back from a stay at Knotty Cottage in Ashford, WA. The cabin is absolutely adorable! It is very clean and it has everything you need - cookware, wood, bunch of extra blankets and towels, even bunch of different movies. It is very well-maintained and taken care of, worth every penny. The jacuzzi and sauna were in great condition as well. Overall, it is the perfect place for romantic getaway. We are certainly going to be back and would recommend it to all my friends! Thank you for the great stay!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

My husband and I stayed here for our 1 year anniversary for 3 nights. We absolutely loved it. The place was well layed out. We had everything we needed. (It would have been nice to have a griddle for pancakes and french toast and nonsitck pans but we made it work with what we had). They provided the wood so all the wood we bought we didn't end up using. The hot tub we used everyday. My husband absolutely loved the sauna, however it is too hot in there for me. The wireless internet didn't work very well, but they provided an ethernet cable so we just set the laptop up by the modem to watch Netflix. Overall I would definitely recommend this cabin to others. It is perfect for that romantic getaway.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We stayed over a long weekend and loved the cabin - we spent most of our time in the Mt. Rainier park but looked forward to evenings and nights at the cabin - the sauna and hot tub were great, thankful for the CD/music player and all of the cooking utensils/supplies, and super grateful for the wifi (no cell service for T-Mobile or AT&T in most of the area). We had an awesome stay and would highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a cozy spot near Mt. Rainier. Exactly as advertised ! :-) Thanks ! ~ToddRecommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

This cottage is a perfect size for two. We were blessed with very warm weather right after Labor Day. It is easy to find and clsoe to civilization but with a wonderful sense of privacy. The hot tub did not work which resulted in less than excellent but we have been offered another visit - which we will definitely do. Wireless internet - perfect! I loved it!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are so sorry that the hot tub wasn't working for your stay! We hope you will use your gift certificate to come back and enjoy the cabin again soon. The heating element did go out on the hot tub, and we were able to get a new part and fixed it just after your stay. So, it will be available for you when you return! Again, so sorry for the inconvenience.

We stayed at Knotty Cottage for 4 nights while hiking at Mt Rainier. This little cottage has almost everything that you need (except for washer and dryer)- a nice kitchen, entertainment center (with TV, collection of DVD's etc), and an outdoor jucuzzi and sauna. It was a treat sitting in the juccuzzi after a day hiking. My child loved it! thanksRecommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children.

We enjoyed our two night stay in this quiet and lovely cabin. The hot tub was great after our long hike to Panaromic Point on Mt. Rainier. The cabin was well supplied with kitchen utensils. It's close location to the park was nice. I would recommend this cabin for a relaxing place to stay.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My family thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Knotty Cottage. It was very private and had all the amenities you could ask for i.e. hot tub, grill, microwave, tv with dvd player, internet access and lots of towels! I would highly recommend this cabin for any trip towards Mt. Rainier.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Knoty cabin, very nice to have the wi-fi since there is no cell service in the area, and the sauna was terrific. My only complaint would be if you advertise as a luxury cabin you should provide hot water at the bathroom sink, hopefuly Tami has taken care of this issue, otherwise great.Recommended for: Sightseeing.

We recently stayed at your cottage and found it truely enjoyable. Everything on your website was exactly as described...full kitchen, hot tub, sauna, lots of bedding, fireplace, wifi, and a good selection of dvds to watch. We enjoyed the heated bathroom floor, too. Our vacation was absolutely a wonderful experience. We will tell all our friends about your nice place. Thanks for the great directions and maps. They really helped.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: I am a single mother of 4 great kids ages 6 - 17. I have 4 vacation rental cabins in the Ashford area. I have a bachelors degree in Business Administration from WA State University, as well as a forest tech degree. The kids and I love to hike in the area and I can give you some great tips on day hiking!
Why the Owner Chose Ashford:
Growing up in Enumclaw, WA on the other side of the Mountain, (the Sunrise side) I was always attracted to the Paradise area. After all, it stayed open all year and we can only access Sunrise in the summer months. Owning a cabin in Ashford became a bit of a dream during the first few years of my marriage. When we were finally able to spring for one I realized, as an at home Mom, that I'd better find a way to pay for it! So, the cabin business was born. I clean and maintain the cabins as a full time job now and I enjoy it thoroughly. My commute passes by herds of grazing Elk & amazing Mountain views. When I clean a cabin it is gleaming and ready for guests to enjoy, which gives a great sense of accomplishment... particularly for someone who lives with 4 kids, and a great deal of chaos! Each of our cabins has been remodeled by our family. The kids pitch in to help, and even my 82 year old Dad loves to be a part of the projects.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
There are 3 different types of cabin trips for me. Family nights, where we roast smore's around the campfire and play board games in the after dark hours. Couples nights where we go for long walks and spend time in the hot tub and sauna. And girls nights where we do all of the above with a glass of wine and plenty of talking.
The property borders on Dept of Natural Resources land that stretches on for miles. You can walk right from the back yard all the way down to the Nisqually River.
There are several great restaurants in the area, so we often dine out if we aren't in the mood for cooking.
In the winter we take the kids to the park for sledding at Paradise, where you can rent sleds for the day. The older kids enjoy cross country skiing and snow shoeing as well. You can rent equipment in Ashford at Whittaker's Mountaineering.
For those who enjoy the mountains Knotty Cottage is a great base to come home to after a day of adventure.
