This 27-mile-long barrier island of emerald waters, sugar-white sands, sea oats, and sand dunes is connected to the mainland via a new bridge (just opened February 2004) and it is the third longest bridge in Florida. Seventeen miles of this beautiful island are preserved as state parks. No high-rise buildings, low density, and strict zoning make this island Florida's premier, unspoiled, pristine treasure.
Our "Sea N' Double" vacation rental home is a three-bedroom, three-and-one-half bath, Saint George Island, vacation home with upscale, professionally decorated furnishings/interior, 10 foot ceilings, and two separate living areas (each with sleeper sofa beds) on the second and third floors and a gas fireplace in the main third-floor living area. This delightful home also features two master bedrooms - one with a large shower and one with Jacuzzi tub. The third bedroom has two single/double bunks (great for all the kids!).
The kitchen with its stylish stainless-steel appliances and black/blue pearl granite tile counters, is well-equipped for those who enjoy cooking fancy meals and for those whose culinary skills are limited to microwaved hotdogs! Other exceptional amenities include five cable TVs with VCR/DVD, a stereo with CD/cassette tape player, a computer with FREE high-speed internet access along with a WIRELESS system for your laptop. (and laptop plug-in), and FREE long-distance phone service!
This cheerful home has two furnished, covered decks WITH A GULF VIEW, a fourth-floor observation tower with spectacular panoramic "DOUBLE" emerald water views of the Gulf of Mexico AND glimpses of the bay through the breezy pines and palms of the Apalachicola Bay National Estuary Preserve which is across the street.
You will have your very own private pool with a furnished sun and shade deck area, poolside hot tub, covered outdoor shower with hot and cold water, double park-style charcoal grill, fish preparation area with sink, and double-car concrete parking underneath. The pool is furnished with lounge chairs and features a cozy firepit nearby.
Enjoy romantic evenings viewing millions of stars while sitting in your hot tub. Watch the quiet fire within the fire pit located across the tropical landscaping. The memorable occasions are enchanced with uplighting on the swaying palm fronds and knee-high lights that shimmer on the hibiscus along the sidewalks. The second/third floor decks and fourth-floor observation tower are all furnished with comfortable, old-fashioned, wooden, Adirondack furniture.
Sea N' Double is located across from a six-mile-long bike path which is less than a mile bike ride to downtown shopping, restaurants, and Aunt Ebby's Ice Cream Shop (for the young and young-at-heart!). You will also be steps away from the sandy shores of the ocean via a DIRECT county-owned access path to the beach that originates at your pool gate!
You are also just steps away from the National Estuary Preserve where you can explore unspoiled white sandy bayfront beaches, wildlife, and abundant nature trails. From this place, you may catch a glimpse of bald eagles, ospreys, or even dolphins frolicking nearby. The maintained bay access path is located caddy-corner across the street, northeast from Sea N' Double.
Your beach home is in a prime location between both beach and bay paths for easy access and enjoyment of the gulf beaches along with the bay beaches within the state preserve. Many beach homes afford frequent enjoyment of only the Gulf beaches -OR- the Apalachicola Bay beaches but not both so conveniently!
