Glen Lake house description
Drom Hus is located on the north shore of Little Glen Lake, adjacent to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore! Don't wait! Our home can be your home for a fabulous vacation in the heart of This outstanding National Park, named in August of 2011 as the most beautiful place in the nation by Good Morning America! If you're familiar with Glen Lake, you know why people come here again and again. If you're new to the area, you won't be surprised to learn that long ago, National Geographic named Glen Lake as one of the ten most beautiful lakes in the world...as it remains, due to the strong community pride and stewardship of its owners. Located on the north shore of Little Glen Lake, this Town & Country-designed home is a lake home with all the amenities. Enjoy the lake for swimming and boating; we provide two kayaks, a Sunfish sailboat, and a buoy for mooring your boat or a rental. Watch the sun set over the dunes from the dock. Create some memories with family and friends around the bonfire. Explore the county's fabulous wineries and unmatched scenery.

The main level features the master suite (complete with private lake side deck). The master bath features a two-headed shower. The kitchen and living space is combined and large, with 20 foot ceilings and exposed beams. A huge wraparound deck offers great outdoor dining.
The lower level features two more bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twin beds. These bedrooms share a huge bathroom with tub. A large family room features a window wall and high ceilings, as well as a gas fireplace. You'll want to keep beverages and snacks handy at the wet bar. Sliding doors from this level lead outside to the water, and both bedrooms feature lake view windows. We have a Fisher Price Pack 'n Play for infants/toddlers, and an old fashioned high chair. In total, we can accommodate six overnight guests and will allow one additional infant who is still sleeping in a crib.
Located on Day Forest Road, you can enjoy lovely bike rides through the National Park. Our home is just three miles from the Dune Climb, three miles from Glen Arbor for restaurants (gourmet or great burgers), groceries, and unique shopping, including the headquarters of The Cherry Republic. The Dunes Golf Course is five minutes away. Our favorite Lake Michigan beach (if you're on the hunt for Petoskey Stones) is just four miles from our home in Glen Haven.
One hundred feet of beach frontage on Little Glen Lake offers fantastic views, exquisite sunsets, starry skies, and the most beautiful lake colors, sparkling turquoise and blues. Great site for children as the water is shallow for 300 feet, lake floor is sandy and water is crystal clear. A dock extends out into the lake; rented or personal watercraft can be moored in front of our home. A picnic table and huge sun umbrella are great for family meals or entertaining.
This is our home, and we share it with only a select few. You will find it well-equipped with a gourmet kitchen, three refrigerators (one is bar size), comfortable and stylish deck seating, and creature comforts that might cause you to stay at the home for your entire stay.
But don't miss all that this area has to offer. Traverse City has been recently lauded as a gourmet city by Bon Appetit Magazine, and there are wine, comedy, film and harvest events, as well as the Cherry Festival. When you book your visit, we can help you with information about what will be happening during your stay.

Wonderful home on beautiful lake!
Wonderful home on beautiful lake!
Considering this was our first trip to the Leelanau region, we could not be happier with the beautiful house set on a wonderful lake...set on the north shore with great access to town and the natural sites of the peninsula. Separation of bedrooms with master on main level and 2 bedrooms below was great for our family of 5. The lake buoy allowed us to keep a pontoon for the week and we loved sailing the included Sunfish. The house was very clean and well supplied...never saw another on the lake we would have rather been staying in! Would love to return!

Exquisite Home & Hospitality!
Exquisite Home & Hospitality!
Our family had the most wonderful stay at this home. We were warmly welcomed into this exquisitely appointed home from the moment we arrived. No detail was overlooked. The accommodations were nicer than a 5-star hotel - roomy enough for our family of 5, beautifully decorated, yet incredibly comfortable. Lake access was amazing. Close to Dunes, Leland, wineries, Lake Michigan hikes, delicious restaurants, Traverse City. Best of all was the hospitality and kindness shown by the owners. We made memories to last a lifetime!
