  Our family had a great stay at the American Classic at Nye Beach. The decor was fun with different beachy themes in every room. Thought was put into comfort and ease. It was nice to stay somewhere where there were ample towels, plates, etc. and even the medicine cabinet had simple supplies that save you from needing a trip to the store. We were truly able to relax by being able to walk to beach and restaurants.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

  We had such a wonderful weekend staying at this charming house!!! Located right in the heart of the community, you're a short walk from everything - the beach, restaurants, stores, etc. The house is so great (and quiet), everything a coastal vacation home should be! It was very comfortable, with 3 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, a huge livingroom, dining room, and fully stocked kitchen downstairs as well as a bonus room and bathroom. There is plenty of space to be had. Oh, and let's not forget to mention that we have two small children and were pleased to find that the owners even provide a pack n play, booster, bathroom stool and utensils for little ones. So thoughtful! And last but not least, one of the most important features is the view, it is phenomenal! I cannot say enough wonderful things about the house or its owners!

  Great Getaway February 12, 2013 We achieved our goal to give our 91 year old east coast mother her first glimpse of the Pacific. She enjoyed relaxing while looking at the waves through the very safe windows of the Classic . The house afforded us all that we needed in the clean amenities and the ambiance of the seaside cottage decor. We had ample places to sleep for all seven of us with either group activity or the option of privacy when we wanted it. Close to everything, activities were available for any age. Thank you for the lovely weekend. Clearly a place for a family to enjoy each other.

  This house was perfect to explore Nye Beach and not have to get in the car every time we needed a meal. The home is furnished with quality bedding and well stocked with everything you might need and plenty of room for six adults to sit in and not feel crowded. Thank you.

  We stayed for a week and absolutely love this house! Spectacular view of the ocean; short jaunt down to the beautiful beach with long stretches to walk on; easy walking distance to all Nye Beach businesses and a quick drive to Old Town Newport. In spite of being quite close to neighboring buildings, the house is very quiet. It is charmingly decorated, very comfortable and fully stocked - we didn't want for anything. Having the computer there was a nice perk, too. Definitely plan to return!

  Classic is a great term to describe this place. Wonderful views, comfortable interior and steps to shops and outings or the sand. We walked everywhere including the bayfront just over the hill. What more could you ask for? Thank you again for the hospitality and we will certainly look forward to returning soon!

  If you are visiting Newport with a group, this is the place to stay. The house is extremely convenient to the beach and all that Nye beach community offers. We had a fabulous time and appreciated the fully stocked kitchen, as we cooked rather than eating out. If you want to eat out there are many restaurants within easy walking distance. We felt right at home and loved the deck view of the ocean, we were even able to watch the whales every evening. When the weather is a bit chilly, you still get to enjoy the ocean through the large picture windows. Can't say enough about this rental. Comfortable, homey, super views, room for plenty of people. Having such a great place to stay made our vacation the best! We plan on returning for another visit.

  Beautiful location and view, walking distance to many eateries and some great stores with a lot of art. The kitchen and downstairs living room are big and open, it was great to have coffee in the morning at the big table , work on a puzzle and watch the ocean. Many nice touches by owners for their guests and each bed has dual control electric blankets which were wonderful. I would only caution that the staircase is very steep so maybe not the best if you had elderly guests or very young kids that might be going up and down a lot.

The staircase is normal for homes in the Historic District and is well padded/carpeted with full railings.   Just returned home after enjoying a month stay at the "American Classic" Everything was great, the house, the location, the view and the owners are all number one. Everything we needed for our stay was more than amply supplied, Newport is our favorite city on the Oregon coast and when we go back, It'll be to the "American Classic".

  We stayed 8 nights at The Classic and loved it. We have been renting a different house for years and wanted to try a new one. Boy, did we get lucky with this lovely house. I loved the location. Walking distance to great food and entertainment. We love Mundo's and NaNa's and there are many other great spots like Stephanies. The house was decorated so cute. Wimsical bedrooms with super comfy beds. Open floor plan was nice and the deck was great. The weather was beautiful and whale watching fantastic. Everything you need is there. Stocked to the gills. Great for the doggies also. Easy access to the beach 2 ways. Bring your binoculars and beach cruiser. We did and used them daily. Neighbors nice and friendly. We will be back as soon as we can, and next time book for 2 weeks. I highly recommend this property. Jim and Lana have really made a home away from home. Karyn and Buddy and Friends
