This cottage can comfortably accommodate 7 guests. The master bedroom features a king size bed with direct access to one deck overlooking the lagoon. The second bedroom can comfortably sleep three, with two twin beds and a pullout trundle. In the den, with large windows overlooking the water, you will find a queen sized pullout mattress.
Every room in this house has been gutted from the floor to ceiling and been remodeled with top of line, brand new appliances and furniture. The kitchen is complete with stainless steel, profile GE appliances, and full service for 8. The bathrooms have all fresh tile, and high pressure shower heads. If you need a break in the winter, curl up next to our wood burning fireplace.
Outside of the cottage, enjoy the lagoon views from either of the two private decks. Go fishing in the lagoon with young ones for pan fish, or rig up some heavier tackle for the local drum. If you are feeling energetic, take our five bikes out for a spin at no extra charge (this is a savings of ($250/week). The beach is only a five minute walk from the cottage, and the community pool is even closer. Tennis courts are available for use, as well as the bordering golf courses.
With inexpensive direct flights from New York, Chicago, and Houston, and only 30 minutes from Charleston, this is a perfect location for long weekends any time of year. My sister and I stayed here during our visit to Kiawah for the marathon and could not have been more pleased. My only regret was not staying longer. The pictures don't even do it justice! This place is beautiful, comfortable and very clean! Ian was great to deal with and even though I travel a ton, I usually stay at hotels. I can only hope my experiences in the future will be like this one. Ian has thought of everything from the best restaurant list, to movies, games and books to use. It was absolutely perfect! Thanks again Ian for sharing your wonderful home!Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My fiancé and I stayed the week of Sept 8, 2012. Everything about the week was excellent (cottage, weather and Ian's communication regarding the stay). I have been to Kiawah many times and this was the best stay yet.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Like most, I am always skeptical when renting, but this cottage was great! Ian was very easy to work with and very accommodating. The cottage was updated and everything was very clean and new. The bicycles, beach chairs and umbrella were a money saver and are a great amenity. We had never been to Kiawah before, and absolutely loved it. Beautiful Island, great beach, nice restaurants and close to Charleston which is a very neat city. The cottage is located a very short walk to the pool and to the beach. I highly recommend getting up early to see the sunrise, go right on the beach, head towards the Kiawah River at low tide and you'll see the dolphins up close feeding. Pretty cool. Also a great to time to pick some shells before they are picked over. The girls loved seeing starfish and sand dollars. We have three daughters from 6-13 and they all loved it. My girls saw dolphin, deer, alligators, and a wide variety of birds. We could see the sea turtle tracks in the sand in the morning, but missed seeing them. You can be as active or lazy as you want to be in Kiawah. I would definitely recommend Ian's cottage and Kiawah to others.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My wife and I spent eight days here in early September and I highly recommend this cottage. We have stayed in Greenslake cottages before and we think the location is very good. It is close to the breach and an easy bike ride to the grocery store and shops at the entrance to the island. This cottage was nicer than the others because of the remodeling that has been done. The kitchen is more open and roomy and the appliances and cabinets are new. The wood laminate floors brighten up the cottage and feel much cleaner than carpet. THe sitting area is very comfortable and all the furniture looks new. There are nice flat screen TV's in the sitting area and bedrooms, but there is so much to do, we barely used them. There are also lots of movies and books in case of bad weather. The shower in the master bedroom was nice -it's big and has a great waterfall showerhead. We really enjoyed the cottage and we will stay there again when we return to Kiawah. We enjoyed bicycling on the beach and on the bike paths. The beach is wide, clean, and beautiful, and the water was perfect for swimming. I recommend bicycling west down the beach (turn right when you get to the beach) and go to the end of the island at low tide. The dolphins there catch fish by forming a line, splashing their tails on the water to stun the fish, and swimming very fast onto the sand to force the fish out of the water so they can easily catch and eat them. It is amazing to watch and apparently one of the only places where dolphins do this. You can also rent kayaks at Mingo Point just a short distance from the security gate, and paddle down the river to see the dolphins. Paddling the other direction behind the island is also great. The pizza restaurant at the shops near the island entrance is very good. Charleston is close and definitely worth a visit if you need a break from the beach.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

My wife and I wanted a nice quiet place to spend out first anniversary and knew that Kiawah would be just what we were looking for. The cottage was perfect for us. It was clean, completely remodeled and very modern. The pictures in this listing are spot on. Ian was very helpful with our hundreds of questions. The cottage is close to the main gate and right off the main road that runs through Kiawah. The lagoon out back offers great views. We saw alligators, herons and even a deer right out the back steps. We will definitely go back as soon as we can and will recommend it to any couple looking to go to Kiawah.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

After 16 years away from Kiawah, we returned to find it better than ever - and our accomodations could not have been more perfect. Ian's home was equipped with everything we could want in a vacation place, and its location on the island was convenient to everything. Having bicycles and beach chairs is an added touch that one does not usually find in a rental, but Ian thought of everything. He was easy to work with and responsive to my questions, which made me feel comfortable when I booked my stay. Thanks for a wonderful vacation.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children.

Ian was great to work with. Very responsive and provided all the necessary information we needed. The cottage was very clean upon our arrival. All the photos and description of the property were accurate. Very quiet and peaceful location. Several good restaurants within 15 minute drive and Freshfields ( grocery store) is only 5 minutes away and has everything you need if you want to eat at the cottage. This was our first trip to the Charleston area. Lots of history and things to do. Plenty of great restaurants and golf courses. If we ever come back to this area we will contact Ian.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Kiawah Island and the Roncoroni''s place was great. It was even better than the pictures showed and Ian was tremendously helpful to us in making the arrangements. The place was clean and well located, about 5 minutes from the west beach. Freshfields Village is a great place to get groceries and is a short drive away. We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2011
About the owner: Hello! My name is Ian. I grew up in rural New Jersey, and graduated from Princeton University in 2006. I currently live in New York City (when I'm not lucky enough to be in Kiawah!) and work in the natural gas business. I love scuba diving, fishing, cooking, and bumming around on the beach. Fortunately, I can do all of those things here!
Why the Owner Chose Greenslake Cottages:
My family has been vacationing on Kiawah Island for about 15 years. We loved it so much that we wanted a place to call our own. Of all the places we've been, no other soothes the body and soul like Kiawah. With quiet, award winning beaches, scenic bike paths, and beautiful golf courses, Kiawah is the perfect place to unwind.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
This property and location have been designed for families or couples to relax. If you are looking for big box retail, chain restaurants, and loud bars across the street, this is not the place for you. If you want to spend your afternoons on the beach, ride your bikes over miles of quiet trails, and watch dolphins feeding at the shore, this is definitely the place for you.
