  The property and views were amazing and exceeded our expectations. Leah, the owner, was very accomodating and helped to make our stay exceptional. There was a little confusion concerning association cards and check out procedures but everything was resolved. We would definitely stay at this beautiful property again in the future.

  This was a very nice place, to stay, all the amenities were great. The owner is very nice and accomodating. Our family had such a great time, my 3 year old loved going on the dock and fishing and going out in the paddleboat. Nobody wanted to leave. I would definately recommend this place. The only down fall was the town was very small and not a lot to do, but other than that everything was PERFECT!

  The house was lovely and well appointed in a quiet suburban neighborhood. We really enjoyed all the wonderful things the website said would be there - kayaks, paddle boat, pool, jacuzzi, pool table, air hockey, ping pong, bicycles, fancy jetted bathtub, and seven TVs (!), and the bonus 3D TV. The lake was a joy, and the neighbors were kind. The owner was very nice. We had a number of techno-problems with the Wi-Fi, televisions, pool and the like, and she was very prompt in addressing them. She did not offer any discount for the partial lack of availability (just 1 day on the TVs and 5 or 6 days with no WiFi) or the need to work on those things at the house while we were there, but she did get them fixed. You should probably know that this place is ideal for folks who like to stay in. There's not much to do in the surrounding area, though we really enjoyed bringing the kids to Calico ghost town that was less than an hour away. But if you're foodies, this is not the right place for you - our big night out was at the Olive Garden at the mall in Victorville, about 20 minutes drive away. It was perfect for us, but that's just a useful thing to know if you're used to urban conveniences like we are. This is not a town for takeout. In general, all four of us (ages 5 to 47) agree that we definitely recommend this place. It's difficult to find such a lovely home with so much to do. And while the prices are higher here than in other desert towns we've been to, it does have better weather than the Palm Springs and Lake La Quinta areas (in my opinion), because it cools down to the 60s at night, even in July. And it's great to have the high temperatures in the daytime because that makes the pool just that much more inviting. The only beef I had the whole time was that the house wasn't fully ready when we arrived at 4:30 and the cleaning folks arrived an hour before checkout time. Not a huge problem, but it just wasn't relaxing to do it that way. Otherwise, the trip was fantastic, we're glad we rented this place, and Leah, the owner, was a pleasure. A unanimous thumbs up.

  a. Leah (the owner) was a pleasure to deal with. Very accomodating, reasonable and understanding owner. b. The house was spanking clean when we entered the house and very tastefully decorated. It had all the amenities for comfortable living. c. The view of morning sunrise from the patio iss just breathtaking. I conjured the view every morning. I just could not get enough of it. d. The game room in garage has enough entertainment stuff in it to keep an entire family busy and entertained for days. e. Very lovely and cozy rooms This place is a "must stay" in a nice community. We even walked on the riverbed which is just 2 miles away. The views from the riverbed were breathtaking.

  It was the perfect place for a perfect time. Recently my family and I suffered the lost of two family members. We planned this time to rest, relax, heal, share and enjoy one another, the lake house and our hostess brought completeness to our wishes. We could not have selected a better place or time, many thanks to our hostess you are five stars plus to us.

  we have just arrived back from here last week,what an amazing place it was,a wonderful experience was had by us all,the peace and tranquility was second to non,the kids had a blast with the kayaks and fishing and more so the foozeball/pool table and ping pong table available there,leah has done an outstanding job of thinking of everything,we cant wait to go again,i would definatley recommend this house to anyone,you can do as little or as much as you please,its just perfect,thank you leah for your hospitality,your awesome xx

  Our family enjoyed this beautiful home for a birthday celebration. It couldn't have been better! For starters, we arrived to music playing throughout the house, air-conditioning welcoming our tired-from-traveling bodies, and the view of the lake demanding our attention. The features of the home created such excitement, knowing we would get to live there for a whole week! Games gallore filled the garage and outdoor entertainment kept us there everyday! Boating and fishing was a first for us!! Elegant bedding and furniture in every room, and spacious accomodations allowed for group time and alone time. Our daughter quickly claimed the office with the twin bed and called it her "princess room!" Even though it is situated in the desert, the breeze was nice and it was peacefully removed from the busy-ness we've come to expect in our lives. I could go on and on, but will leave it with... our family created lasting memories in this home and will truly never forget our stay!! Leah was so gracious as well. Sharing her pride of ownership and design of the home made it that much more of a gift as she let us stay there and create these memories! We will seek this location out again in the future! Worth every penny!!

  My wife and I use HomeAway quite a bit and we've stayed everywhere from Santa Barbara to San Diego and we can quite honestly say that this is one of the nicest properties we've ever stayed at! Located in the middle of nowhere, this property is truly a hidden gem! (In a word, the pictures don't lie!). From the moment you walk into the door, you'll be wowed by the simply incredible view of the lake, and, if you're someone who enjoys a relaxing vacation, you'll probably never leave the comfort of the patio and the pool which was extremely quiet, peaceful and beautiful. Like I said, the view is incredible!!! The house is also equipped with a number of great ammenities that you won't find in other rentals on this sight. The owner provides you with paddle boats, kayaks, air hockey, ping pong, pool and foosball tables, satellite TV with a great selection of premium channels, and a stereo system that runs throughout the entire house and right out onto the patio! There's also a BBQ and a great kitchen that makes up for the lack of restaurants in the area. This place is a total steal at this price and we can't recommend it enough!

  This beautiful house is perfect for group gatherings. 5 bedrooms with very comfortable beds. So many activities to enjoy without ever leaving the house! Our large group with kids and young adults was never bored, making good use of the water (pool & lake) and the game room. Highly recommend for any type of vacation, romantic (the master suite is awesome) to fun filled.

Rental Agreement for Bodhi's Lake House located at 26657 Mariner Lane, Helendale CA 92342: This Short Term Rental Agreement (the “Agreement”) is made between Lorraine Leah Sherzer (“Homeowner”) and ________________ (“Guest”) as of the date last set forth on the signature page of this agreement. For good and valuable consideration, the sufficiency of which is acknowledged, the parties hereby agree as follows: Property is located at: 26657 Mariner Lane, Helendale, CA 92342 Mailing Address is P.O. Box 2144 Helendale, CA 92342 The property is furnished and includes all that is in the attached photos Exhibit A ( will be provided at check in) Rental party shall consist of Guest and the following persons: Maximum number of guests is limited to 14 persons, an additional charge of $25. Dollars per guest will be assessed per night not to exceed 16 persons. The lease begins at Check – In 12:30 p.m. Pacific Time on ____________ and ends at Check – Out 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time on ____________. Guest agrees to abide by the Rental Rules attached as Exhibit B at all times while at the property and shall cause all members of the rental party and anyone else Guest permits on the property to abide by the following rules at all times while at the property. HOLDING OVER: Because of the nature of Owner's business (short term winter and summer recreational rentals) Guest understands, and is hereby put on notice that any unauthorized "holding over" of the property past the stated rental period could severely jeopardize Owners business and cause loss of rental income from other previously booked guests, temporary and/or permanent loss of business, goodwill and reputation and, among other things, could force Owner to breach an agreement with similar short term summer and winter recreational Guest(s) who may have reservations during Guest's unauthorized "holding over" period. In the event, Owner may be legally liable in damages to said other guests. Guests should be aware that unauthorized "holding over" has been construed as a factor in establishing "malicious continuing occupation" of rental property, which may entitle Owner to treble damages in any unlawful detained action. Guest also recognizes the unauthorized "holding over" could be grounds in court as a cause of action for intentionally interfering with Owner’s prospective business advantage. In addition, we will charge $100.00 an hour past 11:30 a.m. on day of check out. REMEDIES: In the event of a default to the Rental Agreement, particularly, but not limited to Guests unauthorized "holding over" or those acts mentioned above in this agreement, and in addition to all other rights and remedies Owner may have at law, Owner shall have the option, upon written notice or as the Law may hereinafter provide, Owner may immediately re-enter and remove all persons and property from premises. In such an instance, the Rental Agreement will be terminated, and Owner shall be entitled to otherwise recover all damages allowable under the Law. The Guest, as part of the considerations of this special rental, in recognition that this property is booked in advance by other Guests throughout the year, hereby waives all claims for damages that might be caused by Owner; re-entry and taking possession of premises or removing or storing property as herein provided, and will hold Owner harmless from loss, costs and damages occasioned thereof, and no such re-entry shall be considered or construed to be a forcible entry as defined in the California Code of Civil Procedure or other similar statutory provisions. Further, if for any reason Owner is unable to deliver possession of the premises to Guest at the commencement of the term specified in the Rental Agreement, Owner shall refund amounts paid by Guest, but shall not be liable for any other damages caused thereby. ATTORNEYS FEE/DEFAULT: If any legal action or proceeding (including default, non payments, etc.) arising out of or related to this Rental Agreement is brought by either party to this Rental Agreement, the prevailing party shall be entitled to receive from the other party, in addition to all other relief that may be granted, the reasonable attorney's fees, costs and expenses incurred in the action or proceeding by the prevailing party. INDEMNIFICATION: Guest agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Owner for any liability arising before termination of this Rental Agreement for personal injuries or property damage caused by the negligent, willful or intentional conduct of Guest(s). This indemnification agreement does not waive Owner's duty of care to prevent personal injury or property damage when that duty is imposed by law. PRIOR AGREEMENTS: No prior agreement or understanding not contained in writing herein shall be effective. Furthermore, Owner, other than what is specifically written and set forth herein, makes no other or further representation regarding the nature, character and quality of the premises to be rented, and no representation shall be deemed to exist or be material unless and until it is reduced to a writing and signed by the parties. This Rental Agreement may be modified in writing only, and must be signed by the parties in interest at the time of the modification. It constitutes the entire agreement of the parties. If any provision in this contract held by any court to be invalid, void or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall never the less continue in full force. FORUM SELECTION, JURISDICTION, LAW AND VENUE– The parties agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the District Court of the State of California for San Bernardino County and/or Municipal court for the city of Victorville for the resolution of all disputes arising under this Agreement. The sole and exclusive venue (i.e. place where lawsuit may be filed) for any legal proceedings shall be in the County of San Bernardino, California. Guest expressly waives any other right or privilege with respect to the election of venue or court (i.e. state or federal) and location of the venue of action. GOVERNING LAW – It is expressly agreed that this Agreement shall be governed and construed by the laws of the State of California only, irrespective of the state of residency of Guest.
