Cedar Creek Cabin is where your vacation begins. Relax and take a deep, calming breath out on the private deck underneath soaring pine trees with views of the wilderness. Spread out upon two acres is our cabin, hot tub and creekbed. There is plenty of room for exploring and enjoying the outside.
Our cabin is located in the Cedar Creek Subdivision next to the Lincoln National Forest. We are only 2 miles from the town of Ruidoso and all it has to offer; shopping, restaurants, and amenities. The base of Sierra Blanca Mountain, the home of Ski Apache, is minutes from our cabin.
The first thing you notice when you walk into the cabin are the large windows that give you the feeling of being in the trees. A den with a wood burning fireplace and a large flat screen TV await you. There are two bedrooms downstairs. One bedroom has a queen sized bed and the other has a twin bunk bed plus a single twin bed. Both rooms have TVs and roomy closets. Next to the downstairs bedrooms is the bathroom with a shower and bathtub.
The upstairs holds the large master bedroom with a king sized bed and sitting area. The newly remodeled master bathroom has a garden tub and large walk in shower. Out of the upstairs sliding glass doors, leads to the back deck which has a private 6 person hot tub.
Two queen size sleeper sofas, one in the master bedroom and the other in the den, will allow room for 4 additional people. The utility room has a full size washer and dryer. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook with. The large front deck wraps around to the front door and has a propane gas grill. It a perfect place to sit, relax and enjoy the outside.
Even though we would all like to get away from work and our busy lives, we have made our cabin a place where you can do both. WIFI is available so you can check your email and the internet while you stay. Each room has a TV with Broadband Cable. The den has a large flat screen TV with a DVD player.
Ruidoso is a fabulous town with so much to do. Cedar Creek Cabin is the place for you to stay and visit time and time again!

The house was nice. There is a hot tub, though we didn't have a chance to use it. You can tell some work has been done to the house - new kitchen and new master bath. We had two kids with us and they got their own rooms (which made us all happy!) Our kids appreciated the stock of travel games at the house. The Ruidoso area suffered a large forest fire last year and there is still evidence as you drive in. However, the trees are coming back and the area is very nice. We used this house as a place to explore from - White Sands, VLA, Roswell.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Nice property & well maintained. The owners have made an extra effort to create a welcoming atmosphere. They were very prompt & thorough in their communication. We had 3 families, 2 with young children. We were able to enjoy being together without feeling crowded. We didn't have time to try the hot tub, but we enjoyed our weekend.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This home was located in a secluded and scenic area. Even though it was secluded, it was just up the road from the grocery store and the downtown shops were only minutes away! We didn’t use the grill due to the snow and cold but I’m sure it would be very nice in the warmer seasons. It was so soothing after a long day of skiing and snow tubing to sink into the spacious hot tub! And what a fantastic view of the stars from the hot tub!! The home was equipped with a pack ‘n play which was a nice surprise and they had several board games we took advantage of. The kitchen was stocked with absolutely everything we needed which was good since my daughter just graduated with a cooking degree and felt the need to cook two huge meals each day we were there! Every evening we all gathered around the wood-burning stove in the living room to watch a favorite movie together. We were able to find plenty of wood to keep the stove burning bright just by walking around the property. We didn’t have to use the sleeper sofa in the living room but I’m sure it would’ve been very nice to sleep by the fire! The master bedroom is absolutely HUGE! The master bathroom has a gorgeous tiled shower again, that is HUGE along with a nice-sized tub. The furniture and décor was rustic and contributed nicely to the cabin feel. We are already thinking about planning a summer trip to enjoy the beautiful mountains and get away from the Summer Texas heat. Thank you so much to Jay and Amy for allowing us to stay in your gorgeous cabin!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Cedar Creek Cabin. Location-wise, it is hard to beat. Having the Lincoln National Forest surrounding the property is very serene, yet you are only minutes from town or Ski Run Rd. It is hard to beat a relaxing dip in the hot tub after a long day of skiing. The house had everything we could have asked for and more. We were fortunate enough to get about 6" of snow during our stay, something we do not see very often back home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Seven of my friends I stayed here for a ski trip, it was so cozy and wonderful. Looks everything like the pictures!!! We enjoyed the fire place everyday, cooked some Ribeyes on the grill, relaxed in the hot tub after sledding all day at the Winter Park. Everything is a very short driving distance away, was very convenient. Really enjoyed our stay here. Can't wait to come back and stay here again. I highly recommend this cabin for a wonderful vacation spot!!!! Thanks for everything Amy!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This property is super nice, and we had a really great time staying there. Amy, the owner, was also very helpful and attentive to our needs. We grilled steaks on front deck, and soaked in the hot tub on the back deck. We comfortably slept and fed 8 people for 3 nights, and never had any issues with feeling crowded. The wood burning stove is Awesome with a capital A. It warms the entire house and makes the cold much more bearable for those of us that come from very warm climates. The house was clean, everything worked wonderfully, and it is really beautifully furnished. We would definitely stay there again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a little trouble locking and unlocking the door but otherwise everything was just as I thought it would be. We didn't get to use the hottub but it looked big a roomy. The deer were a daily visitor. We had a great time and since the property is located in the Lincoln County National Forest it was quite.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed in the cabin for just three nights. This was our first cabin rental and we were VERY pleased with location. It's mostly private with only one other home sharing the driveway. The master bedroom is HUGE and the bathroom / walk in shower is certainly the cabin's centerpiece. Clearly the owner takes a lot of pride the home. Our kids LOVED the place and won't stop talking about it three weeks later. I look forward to our next trip!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We stayed at the cabin with two other couples (12 people) and never felt cramped. We could not have asked for better weather 82/52 when it was 104/80 in Texas. The cabin was awesome with everything we needed from kitchen to bathrooms to bedrooms. The kids could not get over the number of deer that came right up to the deck in the morning. A neighbor gave us some alfalfa to spread around and it was like candy to them. Just around the corner we saw two huge bull elk and we caught sight of a black bear and her 3 cubs on the road to the casino (the trifecta in on trip!). Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in the cabin. This was our second stay - one winter and one summer stay. We can't wait to get back. It is truly a year round vacation destination and you just can't say that about many places, none with in driving distance from DFW.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: We live in Cedar Hill, TX, about 20 minutes from Dallas. Our family enjoys going on family vacations together. My husband had a friend who owned a family home in Ruidoso and he started checking into the town. We visited several times and decided that it would make a great family vacation destination. He skiied a lot as a child with his family and has fond memories of this. We wanted the same for our family.
Why the Owner Chose Ruidoso:
Ruidoso is an 9 hour drive from Dallas. It is a close enough drive that you can do it in one day. We fell in love with the town of Ruidoso and all of it's charm. The town itself is really cool and has a lot to offer; great shops, great restaurants, the casino and horse track, and many other things to do. We brought our children here to ski for the first time this winter. What great memories we made!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Cedar Creek Cabin is an awesome place to stay. It gives you the feeling of being close to the wilderness, yet you know that you are only 2 miles from town. The soaring pine trees are one of my favorite things. My children love to go and explore on the two acres. The creek that runs infront of the house offers many exciting discoveries. The house has a wonderful deck that you can sit out on and watch the wildlife go by and see the kids play.
