Our home on Fripp Island has been completely refurbished and redecorated in a true low country, beach motif for a wonderful island vacation.
One four seat golf cart, taxes, bikes, HDTV, wifi, a gas grill, cleaning fee and beach chairs, games and toys for your use at the beach, at the park, or the marina are included in our rental package as super money savers to maximize your vacation: These alone would cost you over $750 or more with another rental. Our second golf cart is also available for you use at an additional fee much less than normal rental rates.
Our home has TV's in each room, internet access throughout the house, and plenty of storage space for your stay. There is new “sea salt” paint inside and out, brand new relaxing furniture throughout, soft bedding, and crisp linens.
Located on the 17th fairway of the Davis Love designed Ocean Creek Golf Course, and only a few hundred yards from the beach, marina, inlet and golf club, our open floor plan “Bonito Boathouse” single family home overlooks one of the many lagoons on the island amidst the South Carolina marsh.
Our front porch that sports a “Welcome to our Beach House” sign is where you can slip off your flip flops from your sandy feet, slip from your worries, and enter our retreat. Once inside, the cool colors of khaki, white and teal invite you into our relaxing and very beachy house.
The summery white bead-boarded great room has two comfortable seating areas where you can lie on the sofa and watch the 42” flat screen HD TV, enjoy your latest beach novel, perhaps from Pat Conroy, one of our island residents, or relax in our rattan chairs or rocker and surf the internet from our free wi-fi while you listen to some beach music.
The oversized whitewashed dining table seats eight for snacks and meals, or that challenging 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle, while the counter attached to the kitchen island seats two more. The fully stocked kitchen is open to the great room, allowing all to chat, work, and play while preparing your culinary delight from a visit to any of the local fish and shrimp shops.
Looking to the back of the home and its wall of windows, and through two sliding glass doors, you’ll access our newly constructed screened-in porches, where a tall cool beverage and beautiful sunsets let you enjoy the meaning of your vacation. A white wooden glider on the porch and brightly colored Adirondack chairs and tables provide room and fun for all. A set of back stairs off the porch provide access to the gas grill, outdoor shower, and two car garage, as well as a late afternoon chip and putting contest on the 17th hole.
From the entrance foyer, enter the main level guest room through double French glass doors. This bedroom has a queen size bedroom suite and adjoining full bath with shower. Through either of two sets of sliding glass doors in this room, you can walk out onto one of the five verandas surrounding our home, sit for a spell and view folks going for a stroll, the children and scooters on the sidewalk, the 4th of July festivities, or the boats heading to the marina.
There are two more bedrooms, each with their own bath, and the laundry room upstairs. In the master bedroom, overlooking the lagoon and golf course, there is a king size bedroom suite and huge master closet. Double doors into the master bath reveal a garden tub, separate glass shower with a double sink vanity. Through the room’s sliding glass doors, step out onto the newly built screened-in porch where you can sit and enjoy a snack or take in the view of the lagoon, the golf course and marsh.
In order to pack more t-shirts, swimsuits and sandals, the only beachwear really required, our laundry room hosts a new washer and dryer for your convenience so that you don’t have to bring those extra clothes.
The children’s “beach” room, as our son named it, houses two sets of bunk beds that sleep four. Like the other bedrooms, there is an adjoining private full bath as well as a veranda through two more sets of sliding glass doors to the upper level front porch. While upstairs on the glider, glance at the porch ceilings that are all painted sky blue, a true Charlestonian tradition.
For access to all of the island amenities, each member of the renting family or group over the age of 12 requires a Fripp Island amenity card. These cards are available for purchase at additional cost. Amenity cards allow you entrance into all the fun island locations on the island. While this includes the Ocean Point and Ocean Creek golf courses (green and cart fees apply) and their snack bars and grill, as well as the tennis club and pro shop, the cards provide entrance into the Beach Club (restaurant, food court, ocean front bar, adult only and Olympic swimming pools), Veranda Club (oceanfront restaurant, bar, and 3 pools, including a frog island children’s pool), Marina pool and store, and Ocean Point residents’ pool. The cards also allow you to utilize Davis Love Park, Wardle's Landing Nature Center and children’s daily fun camps, and Excursions, the island spot for renting fun at an hourly or daily rate, where you can purchase a Dolphin cruise or rent additional golf carts, mopeds, bikes, scooters, kayaks, canoes, and other toys to make your stay so much fun.

We had such a wonderful week at 704 Bonito! It was a wonderful home- great location, comfortable furnishings and amenities!! The owners were just wonderful to work with. We enjoyed our easy golf cart ride to the beach or Cabana Club! The screened porch was a great place to relax at the end of a day at the beach!! We just loved it and hope to return next year!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

This house was great for my family. It is a short cart ride to the beach, marina, golf course and multiple pools. The property was very clean and beautifully decorated. Quite frankly, the pictures do not do it justice on how great this house really is. The owner was great to work with and extremely friendly and I would recommend this house to friends and family alike. My wife, kids, father and I loved this house and would just like to thank the owners for all they did to make our trip to Fripp Island one of the best and most relaxing vacations we ever had.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

About the owner: We are an airline family that has traveled all over the world and found paradise at Fripp. We love the beach, the low country, and the golf. We've made lifelong friends at Fripp and look forward to spending our retirement years here as well.
Why the Owner Chose Ocean Creek, Bonito Boathouses:
We discovered Fripp Island 12 years ago after spending years renting in the low country and gulf coast at other resorts. Fripp gave us privacy yet security, the beach at a reasonable cost, access to Charleston and Savannah, the history of Beaufort, and all the boating, golf, tennis, biking and other family activities we were hoping to find. Our children have grown up here in the summers and the nearby military installations are a plus for my retirement, so we had to buy. We hope to share our home with all our friends.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
It's only a short three minute walk over the canal bridge to the beach, a bike ride to the park, a golf cart ride to the marina or golf course and once we're here at Fripp Island, we only take the car to nearby Hunting island to see the lighthouse, or to town for seafood and u-pickem fruits and veggies. We always have an evening chipping and putting contest on the 17th hole behind the house, and watch the deer feeding in the evening as the sun sets over the marsh. Our neighborhood of Ocean Creek is the center of the island where all the activities are centrally located. Turn to the right to the beach, turn to the left to the marina, or turn around to the golf course. Anyway you turn, our home is the answer for a great getaway vacation.
