At this private beach house in Cape San Blas, Florida, you'll be just steps from the breath-taking Gulf of Mexico, right on the sugar white sand. CSB is unique -- no high rise condos, no crowds, no hurry.
Every room was repainted and redecorated in 2011. New bedding August 2012 along with a new stove, new microwave, and new dishwasher.
With five bedroom suites, and more than 2,700 sqft, you can easily accommodate the needs of everyone in your group. But we know it isn't just about where to lay your head, you need enough space to have fun together. Salt Water Taffy has what you need, from books and board games to a private heated pool and beautiful sunsets.
The dining room table comfortably seats ten and the kitchen table can host four more (ideal for a 'kids' table). There's even room at the bar for three, thanks to counter-height bar stools. The great room has a wall of sliding glass doors that open onto the screened-in porch where there's also seating for ten, complete with lighting and ceiling fans. From the porch you have a panoramic view of the pool and the beach. This is the place to be at sunset.
Salt Water Taffy even has parking for everyone in your group. This home sits on a large lot with a gravel driveway and under-house parking that easily can accommodate six cars.
Coming in from the beach enjoy the enclosed shower with hot and cold running water. Practical and fun! Clean the catch of the day at the fish cleaning station in the shade of the house.

Our family and another family visited Salt Water Taffy for a week and had an awesome time! We have been to Destin, Hilton Head, Gulf Shores, and Water Color in the past and this one topped them all. The house was beautiful (and huge). We are usually battling crowds on the beach but at this house the beach is basically private with maybe another family on either side in front of their own beach house. It was also perfect for little kids because the pool is right outside the back door and only a short walk to the beach - no schlepping kids, toys, etc. a long way to the beach. We were also surprised at how convenient the location was. We had a blast exploring Port St. Joe (great restaurants) ,which was very close, and Appalachacola. We had no trouble driving to either area for dinner. We also went into Panama City twice during the week to take in some of the attractions - mini golf and Wonderworks. I would recomend the pizza place in Port St. Joe and the Snow Balls place in Panama City. All in all, it was a great trip and great house. My kids enjoying sleeping in the bunk room with their friends and having "their own pool". My husband and I enjoyed not having to fight the crowds and having a enough space to be able to play cards with our friends at night on the ground floor without waking up the kids upstairs. Highly recomended!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had the best beach vacation ever at Salt Water Taffy. Our kids loved the wide open beach and pool. There are only a couple of other houses near by, so, we had the beach all to ourselves. The house was very comfortable with plenty of room to spread out. We had 10 people in our group and it was nice to have everyone sit comfortably at the 10 person dining table for meals. We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

About the owner: Owning a home on the beach has been a long time dream and wish of ours. We love to spend time at the beach (and at this house) with our children, our extended family, and our friends. We hope that you enjoy it, too.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes:
We chose Cape San Blas because of its serenity. Far away from crowds and distractions, we can focus on spending time together as a family and creating memories. We love to walk on the beach, swim, chase birds, fish, collect shells, and watch the sunset. We're lucky enough to live within driving distance and we come down as often as possible.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
You really can't get any closer to the beach. Salt Water Taffy sits in the sand, steps away from the Gulf of Mexico. The pool is on the beach side, but is protected by a growing dune and a fence for total privacy. From the 1st floor bedroom and from the kids bunk room you can see the Saint Joseph Bay. In the two master bedrooms you feel like you are sleeping on the beach -- there isn't anything between you and the white sand and water.
