Historic Downtown Seattle Studio Condominium
- Minimum stay:2 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:Yes
This is a cozy, comfortable, and super-convenient condo to rest your bones while you're visiting the fabulous Emerald City. It is walking distance to many of the iconic Seattle attractions: Pioneer Square, the International District, Qwest Field (football and soccer), and CenturyLink Field (baseball), the ferry terminal to Bainbridge and Vashon Islands, Seattle Art Museum, and much, much more.
Simply furnished, but comfortable. The bed is new and very comfy, the kitchen is fully equipped, the bathroom has a shower and tub, and there are a washer and dryer in the unit. Total square footage is about 450. There's a nice patio, too. It is equipped with broadband (wired) internet and cable TV, as well as a radio and CD player. But, hey, you're not going to Seattle to hang out in your room and watch TV, are you? No! You want to sight-see, shop, catch a ball game, eat at fabulous restaurants, stay out late at the famous Pioneer Square nightclubs.
All these activities are within easy walking distance.
One of the best features of the condo is the easy access to many forms of public transportation. The light rail from the airport lets you off 3 blocks away (takes about 35 minutes). We're also 4 blocks from the Amtrak station, if you want to take the train, say, to Vancouver BC or Portland OR. You can walk to the other end of downtown in 20 or 30 minutes, but you can also hop on a bus 2 or 3 blocks away and ride anywhere in downtown Seattle for free (check out the King County Metro website for more information).

We had an amazing time in this rental. Larry is very gracious and was very helpful and informative. He gave very easy instructions on how to find the place and gain entry. My wife and I felt very safe as two women and there were several convenient bus locations nearby. We appreciate the fact that Larry has taken past concerns/comments/requests into consideration and then met those requests, such as installing wireless wifi and the lamp by the couch. Could not have been more perfect. Would totally stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

4.5 Stars. Clean, warm, cozy and nicely appointed. Close to train and bus, no parking. You may want to bring extra towels, but a washer and dryer are provided. Walk to water is only a few blocks and quite beautiful. It is also adjacent to the International District, which is a bit scary on weekends, but normal on week days. Found a tea shop there with made to order, fresh juice, very delicious. And a killer coffee shop a block a way, toward Pioneer Square. The host of this condo is friendly and helpful. Best part of condo is the security and lovely patio.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks for your review, Jane, and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. As for towels, there are five bath-towels in the condo, along with numerous hand-towels, but I guess some folks might want more. As for the International District being "scary" on the weekends, I'm not sure what you experienced--but this is downtown Seattle, a busy place with lots of people and lots of diversity. I've never felt anything but safe in this neighborhood, and haven't heard anything until now to the contrary. --Larry

Thank you for your quick refund. We really enjoyed our stay in Seattle and your condo was in the perfect location for getting around. We were able to walk everywhere and were able to see a lot in a short time. We hope to come back to Seattle to see a Sounders game and will definitely check with you to see if your condo is available.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We loved staying here during our recent visit to Seattle. Walking distance to everything we were looking for (even to Little Uncle on E. Madison for some tasty Khao Soi :))! It was great to do some shopping in Pioneer Square and be able to just drop stuff off at the condo and go out and about again. Also very close to Century Link field for catching a Seattle Sounders match! It's also an easy block-away walk to the Light Rail that takes you directly to the airport. Great for 2 people and very quiet. Larry was very helpful, too! Thanks Larry!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This condo was exactly what my sister and I needed for a girls weekend! Perfect location, walking distance to everything, so clean, comfortable and safe. So much cozier than a hotel and just steps to coffee, shopping, great restaurants, bars and nightlife. We would totally stay here again! Thank you to Larry - very helpful and responsive!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We enjoyed our stay. The condo was in a very convient location, we pretty much walked everywhere. Best view of the city is from the Columbia Building on 5th Ave about a two minute walk from the condo and cheaper then the space needle. Great food at the Lunchbox Labatory. Ruby Beach was beautiful. Cheese curds at Beechers is a must. The Vintage Mall in Freemont was awesome. Larry was great and helpful. Never want to stay in a hotel again. Thank you for everything. We stayed in this condo for one week in December, 2012. This is a well equipped large studio suite with a full kitchen, queen sized bed, a nice sized bathroom and closet. The suite was clean and well equipped with dishwasher, clothes washer/dryer, hairdryer, iron, etc., everything necessary to ensure that one’s stay was comfortable. The building’s exterior and common areas are very well maintained. The suite itself is exceptionally quiet. The owner was thoughtful enough to supply bus tickets. We found that walking to the centre of downtown Seattle (5th & Pine or Pike Place Market ) took only about 20 minutes. The Japanese grocery store, Uwajimaya, just a few blocks south on 5th, is a real find. This store sells everything that any large grocery store does, and much more. An excellent restaurant by Pike Place Market, Café Campagne at 1600 Post Alley, is recommended. Wish list: We travel with a Macbook Air which, because of its thinness, does not have an Ethernet fitting so a wireless modem that is Mac-centric would be a nice addition. In our opinion, this suite represents excellent value and we would definitely stay there again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks, James! And thanks for your recommendation about wi-fi. I installed a wi-fi modem and it's up and running! Hope to see you again on your next visit to Seattle-- Larry

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2006
About the owner: I'm a clinical psychologist and lived in Seattle (Bainbridge Island, actually) for 12 years until moving to California's central coast in 2007. We bought the condo when we relocated, so I would have a place to stay on my bi-weekly trips back to Seattle.
Why the Owner Chose Pioneer Square:
We bought the condo for its ideal location in downtown Seattle. I stay in it every other week for a few days and walk to my office in Pioneer Square. It's a comfortable place to hang out, and the location is fantastic!
