I would recommend staying at this wonderful row house in the fan. It was well equipped and clean. I stopped in prior to check in to see what I would need to provide for the four days and the word is nothing!! The owners make sure that everything that you need is there. My daughter married on saturday and didnt want to stay at the hotel-this was a home away from home. I would recommend this home to anyone.

We just got home today from Richmond after spending a wonderful 4 nights at this property. We had made the trip down from Vermont for a friends wedding. The groom lived 5 blocks away and it was so convenient to be able to walk over to visit them and help with last minute preparations. This property has everything you could need for a relaxing, fun filled time away. The home is beautifully built and maintained. Super clean, warm and inviting. The owners leave you great tidbits on places to eat, shop or visit. There are board games for grown-ups and kids making it easy to have an evening in playing trivia. The warm sun floods the front of the house and curling up with a book about the history of the area in the living room in the morning sun started my days. It is convenient to the Richmond airport and has easy close on street parking if you have a car. My husband who never likes to walk very far unless he has a golf club in hand walked for hours on two different days to take in the sights, sounds and yummy food, because it was that easy. I can't say enough good things about this experience and hope that we can make a trip down again soon. It felt like a home away from home.

We stayed four nights at this beautiful, well-appointed row home in the heart of Richmond's Fan district over Christmas. It's a great location and walkable to many shops and restaurants. The kitchen has everything you would need to cook and bake as we did for our holiday stay. The dining room seats 6 but you can squeeze in more if needed. We had seven people for dinner one night and it worked well. It's a very well maintained home and it's obvious that the family lives there most of the year. It doesn't feel like a rental which is nice. The furnishings and decor are very cozy and comfortable. Things you should know: -There is no TV downstairs in the living area. There are TVs upstairs but our two young children slept in those rooms so we couldn't watch television after their bedtime. -The are two true bedrooms upstairs with a sitting/TV room in between them. (The sitting room has a pull out couch, which we did not use, two sitting chairs and the main TV.) The front master bedroom is on a busy street so you will hear traffic noise. It worked out well that our kids were in the smaller bedroom and entertainment room near the back of the house so they werent bothered by this. (Our youngest was in a portable crib in the sitting room while our 4 year old was in the back and smaller bedroom.) We use noise machines regularly anyway. -There are two showers but no tub if you have small kids. The owner is very responsive and helpful. I highly recommend this home and would stay there again if our travels took us back to Richmond.

Three sisters-in-law had a wonderful visit. The house is lovely. Absolutely immaculate and very comfortable. Our primary objective in visiting Richmond was to see the Chihuly Glass exhibit at the VMFA. It was well worth the trip. We also toured the Christmas lights at Ginter Gardens and Maymont. The best part of the visit was having a lovely, comfortable place to rest and relax after sight seeing. The property was exactly as advertised. Highly recommend it!

This is the second time we have stayed at your home while visiting my son in Richmond. As before, the place was spotless and very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need (we even cooked an early thanksgiving dinner). It was so nice to be able to comfortably visit with my son, his wife and new baby. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

My husband, son, and I spent a wonderful week at this home. Richmond was in the throes of heat and it was great to come home after sightseeing to this lovely cool calm home. The home is close to great places to see like Jamestown, Williamsburg, and the Museum of the Confederacy. Plus Dale gives great ideas for places to eat. Don't miss the awesome lasagna from 8 1/2. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Richmond. Thanks thanks thanks

We were in town for 7 days and our family of 4 was very comfortable. This property is in a good location close to Careytown and downtown, and about 10 minutes from U of Richmond. One night we walked to one of the many restaurants (KubaKuba - very good), but mostly we cooked in the house. The kitchen is fabulous. There is a cozy little patio off the kitchen we used for breakfast. The home is as pictured and more - well constructed, clean, and well maintained. The modern updates are respectful to the era of the home, tasteful, and high end. The owner is very helpful and the rental process was easy. Highly recommend.

Wow... where to begin? First of all, the owners were quite helpful and informative both before, during, as well as after we rented. Pictures don't say enough about this amazing property. It was clean, well kept, state of the art appliances, and beautifully decorated for the season. The property is in an upscale neighborhood and was very safe and secure. We would definitely recommend this for anyone looking to visit the Richmond area. Pricing was very reasonable and we hope to be back next year! Thank you again for your graciousness in letting us use your property!

The rowhouse was a beautiful home and in a perfect location to see the downtown area of Richmond. The home was very welcoming and comfortable.....just what we needed. We enjoyed the view of the park as well as the band that played there one late afternoon. The kitchen was great for cooking or for just a quick sandwich or snack! Will definitely visit again.

                  Owner info

                  Year Purchased: 2010

About the owner: I am originally from the east coast but have lived out west in California for the last 30 years, San Diego and Lake Tahoe. My wife, Shirley, and I, when our children grew up and moved away from home wanted to return to the east and a 4 seasons climate and in Richmond we have found a beautiful friendly community to do just that. We also wanted to be in an urban setting and in an historic area and Richmond, Philadelphia and Boston have so much history to enjoy. I was a newspaper publisher/owner for the last 22 years and before that a banker.

                  Why the Owner Chose Richmond:
Because of its history and beauty and the charm and character of the 'Fan District' and it's people. Wonderful urban era for walking and enjoying the history and charm of the neighborhood.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
We can walk to almost everything. Museums, restaurants, shopping, sporting events. We are also close to the beautiful Shennadoah Valley and Williamsburg and Washington DC.
