Our craftsman cottage is a short walk to the beach, Old Town Encinitas restaurants and shops, parks (including a dog park), and the 'Coaster' commuter train station.
The cottage has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom is very comfortable with a queen bed, closet, large shower in the bathroom, and french doors to the deck. The second bedroom is an office with a futon. The futon will sleep kids nicely, but is a little small (but works) for two adults. The second bath has a tub/shower combination. We have a large, nicely landscaped, fenced backyard, with a deck, gas BBQ, and Jacuzzi hot tub. The deck gets sunshine all day and is a great place to relax after a day at the beach. The cottage has a very open feel with a full kitchen, dining area, and living room. The living area has a wide screen TV, Bose docking station/am/fm radio, wirerless internet, and french doors to the back deck.
You can walk to the 'D' Street beach stairway, Moonlight Beach (great for families), or the famous Swami's surf spot. Many nice beaches/surf spots just a short drive away. Two blocks to Coast Highway with it's many restaurants and shops. One block to a great new library or the Coaster train station. Daily commuter trains to Solana Beach, Old Town, and the Santa Fe Station in downtown San Diego.
The cottage is a great place for a couple or small family. Four adults would work if one couple was comfortable with the futon or large air mattress. We have bikes and surfboards for your use.
The cottage is in a nice residential neighborhood two blocks up the hill from Coast Highway. We have very nice neighbors with young families. It is a quiet area where folks walk with their kids and dogs in the evening. Well behaved dogs are welcome, and there is an off leash dog park at the end of our street.
The cottage is available during Thanksgiving (November 19 - 26), Winter break (December 26 - January 7), and Spring break (March 24 -31). It is available in summer 2012 starting on June 9.

About the owner: Vince is a retired educator and Gail is a teacher. We travel extensively, often with our Golden Retriever, 'Buddy'. We are renting our home while we travel.
Why the Owner Chose Encinitas:
The house is in a great location. Great beaches/surf spots nearby. Easy freeway access and a commuter train to San Diego. An easy drive to Legoland, Balboa Park, Petco Park (for baseball fans), Old Town, The Gaslamp area, and Little Italy.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
We seldomly use our car on the weekend, choosing to BBQ on the deck, or walk to one of the nearby restaurants for dinner. We walk, run, or bike at the beach almost every day.
