My husband and I and another couple rented this apartment for a week in late October. We all agreed that is was a phenomenal apartment- 2 complete suites upstairs (VERY comfortable beds) with living space downstairs, a well equipped kitchen, spacious living room and pleasant terrace. The location is perfect, just around the corner from Plaza Dorrego which has a number of bars with live music and street vendors. San Telmo is so much fun! Martin was very attentive and communicative both before and during our stay, going out of his way to accommodate us in every way. Truly a stellar experience!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This apartment was beautifully appointed and comfortable, with all the conveniences of home. It is perfectly priced, as well. The location is ideal in the lovely character of San Telmo. We walked half a block away our first afternoon there and saw tango dancing in the Plaza Dorego. Well, what could we do but order a glass of wine and sit down and watch. Every morning we went down to the corner for our English paper, The Herald. Martin was available to us at all times for questions and any problems and, of course, an initial orientation as to bank, bakery, laundry, groceries and pharmacy. And he also gave us the use of a cell phone, which turned out invaluable twice, once used as an alarm clock! We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it in a heartbeat.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

We'd like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Martin for his hospitality while we were staying in this lovely apartment in the heart of San Telmo. We were two couples spending a week in Buenos Aires so the two separate master suites were ideal. The entire apartment is everything you could ask for including WiFi and TV with English channels. The area is so charming that some days we'd just explore the neighborhood. The shops are unique and restaurants good. Our favorite was Don Ernesto's just around the corner. We highly recommend this place - it couldn't have been better.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, age 55+.

Our stay in San Telmo was our first stop on a month long trip through Argentina and Chile, and will remain a highlight of our journey! We were two couples traveling from the U.S. With a flight arriving at 6am. Martin, the apartment manager, met us at the apartment at 7am (the apartment had not been rented the night before), with a big smile. He walked us through the apartment and answered our questions. He was always a phone call away for restaurant and tour recommendations (and even made reservations for us). His service was invaluable and was a big part of the specialness of our stay. The apt. is perfect for two couples as there are two en suite bathrooms and the beds in each room can be made into king sized beds. There is an additional powder room downstairs near the living room. It is located on a main street in San Telmo and close to a vibrant square with late night entertainment and even a Starbucks. Sunday is the day to be there for the Sunday Market that runs right along the street. Even though you are close to the activity, the apt. is situated within a building towards the back - still lots of light from the large courtyard, but quiet. We loved being in this section for it's central location. There were great restaurants, tango, shopping.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

My husband and I have stayed in vacation rentals in Europe and prefer that as our choice for accommodation. I have nothing but outstanding things to say about this property and the property manager, Martin. San Telmo is charming, low key, and completely safe. We visited a few neighborhoods in Buenos Aires and we loved coming home to our quiet but hip neighborhood. I would stay in San Telmo again. The apartment is gorgeous and fully equipped. We truly did not want for anything, and it looks exactly as photographed. It is luxurious but affordable in our opinion. The open patio was beautiful; each morning we'd have coffee and bask in the sun.It does lack a washing machine, but there is a laundromat one block away, and for $10 the ladies inside did all of our laundry in 3 hours. Martin is the consummate professional. He answered all emails before and during our stay promptly. He speaks perfect English. He really went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after. He gave us maps, restaurant recommendations, and a complimentary cell phone to use during our stay. He made phone calls on our behalf. He removed a rug from the living area that had an odd smell. He returned the entire security deposit without incident. I echo the previous reviews that express how awesome Martin is. This is an awesome place with an awesome manager. If you are considering it, go for it! You will not be disappointed.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, age 55+.

This was one of the most wonderful aspects of our holiday in Buenos Aires. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, luxurious and spacious home to stay in. The location was absolutely perfect -- close to antique shops, delicious restaurants, cozy bar notables, a wonderful sunday market, etc. Our host did an amazing job of answering all of our tourism related questions and putting us in touch with the right agents. We loved staying in San Telmo and look forward to coming back soon.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, age 55+.

We spent 11 nights in this lovely flat. With regard to the flat itself, it was charming and everything was pretty much "as advertised". But the real story here is the property manager, Martin. This guy was just fantastic. He met us and checked us in, offered us a free loaner cellphone to use while in town, and showed us all around the property. First class, professionalism all the way. The only discrepancy we noted with the property itself was a slightly raised nail on the bedroom floor. It was no big deal for us, but I was concerned a future guest might cut their foot on it. So I e-mailed Martin to notify him of the problem. I figured he would fix it after we checked out. A few hours later, Martin showed up with a tool box and fixed it. Later during our stay, we noticed that the combo printer-fax-copier that was thoughtfully provided with the flat was out of black ink. It didn't matter to us, because we travel with our own portable printer. But again, I figured I should let him know for benefit of future guests. THREE MINUTES (seriously) after sending my e-mail, Martin wrote back, offering to drop what he was doing and drive over with a new black ink cartridge. Of course we declined, not even intending to use the printer ourselves, but we were still very impressed with Martin's service. He also referred us to an excellent leather shop outside the usual "leather district", which seems to be more of a tourist trap. My biggest fear with VRBOs is whether the landlord will play games with the security deposit, try to get away with "forgetting" to send it back, making up bogus discrepancies, etc. It took us about an hour to get from this flat to our next destination. By the time we got there, the full refund of the security deposit was already in my Inbox. These guys are just first class all the way. The ironic part is that our whole strategy was to stay in this San Telmo flat for the first 11 days, then "upgrade" to a much more expensive, fancier place (from a different management company) for the final week of our stay. The new place is definitely more expensive, but it's not nearly as nice as the much cheaper digs (this listing) that we just left. If we could do it over again, we'd either have stayed the full time in this flat, or would have asked Martin to show us another property he manages. Without going into detail, I will say that we have not been nearly as impressed with the other property management company as we were with Martin. Thanks Martin!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children.
