Fresh air; cool nights; nature sounds; secluded. Ah, that's the life - so relaxing - sad it only lasted a week for us.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

This cottage is everything it appears to be in the VRBO ad, photos, etc. It's a lovely cottage ("cabin" would not do it justice, mainly because it is pretty spacious) RIGHT next to a flowing stream. It's secluded, but pretty easy to find if you follow the owner's directions, and maybe print out a Google map, too. We especially enjoyed using the screened front porch for our meals, during which we watched the daily Butterfly Show--endless and beautiful entertainment. Only two things were slightly problematic: (1) neither one of us got any cellphone coverage (on Verizon or AT&T)--which is to be expected with such mountainous surroundings, and was only problematic because there was no land line, so no way to contact the owner while we were there. (2) the hot tub was set to do its daily non-stop running period (anyone with a hottub will know what I mean) right when I was trying to go to sleep; it was right outside my bedroom window, and kept me up a couple of nights. That said, we loved the location, close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and all it has to offer, and close enough to Waynesville to meet our fairly minimal material needs. The kitchen was clean and had what we needed. Beautiful spot. I highly recommend this place!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We loved this cabin, with it's simple decor, comfortable outdoor seating options, and privacy. I would recommend this property to a small family or couple who wants to spend some quality time in the mountains. The neighbors were invisible and the flowers were plentiful. The property was clean, but not fancy, and the kitchen was adequately equipped. It's located less than 15 miles from several gorgeous hiking trails and numerous challenging mountain bike rides, yet only a short 45 minute drive to the arts of Asheville.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

I love this place. Secluded, peaceful, cool temperatures. The owners have really worked to retain the cottages original look and feel, inside and out. Old flower plantings, lovely yard and of course the stream right outside, make this a real gem. Plenty of hiking and close to town/shopping. I feel privileged to have stayed here.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

I knew this cottage would be nice but had no idea it would be as perfect as it was. To be able to throw the windows open and hear the creek while we fell asleep. It was priceless. The cottage is very clean and nicely decorated. Its also pretty close to Waynesville so not too far from town. Asheville wasnt too far either and we went twice. I have no complaints, only praise. Brent was a pleasure to work with as well. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a relaxing place to getaway from it all.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This property was a great choice for our family's Christmas vacation. The home was clean, comfortable and well stocked, firewood (for both inside and outside) was even provided. The property was in a good location, with short drives to Maggie Valley, Waynesville, and Ashville, but still secluded enough to feel like a true mountain get-away. The owner was helpful, informative and made booking a breeze.I would recommend this property to any family, but not so many that we can't book this place for our next N.C. trip!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Our family had a wonderful time calling this "home" for our mountain weekend. In our couple days we hiked a nearby trail, went horseback riding, fished, rode the Blue Ridge Parkway, and even visited Cherokee, Maggie Valley, and Waynesville. The kids (9,6,6) loved playing in the open field, running around the creek, roasting marshmallows on the fire, telling stories at night on the porch. The cottage had everything we needed to prepare a few meals and relax after a couple days of adventure. It was clean and very neatly decorated. Thanks for sharing it with us.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We enjoyed our stay, beautiful property with creek right beside back porch. The creek is beautiful, we slept with the windows open to hear the sounds of the creek. Cute cabin, very cozy and comfy. Very serene setting. Close drive to Waynesville to shop, dine, or attend the Friday night street dance! Also close to sliding rock, and Pisgah. We will definitely return!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks!

Serenity, peace, mountains, and musical streams to lull you to sleep at night with not a person in the world to see or be heard from (unless of course, you want to hear from them), while having a light show performed by your own personal troupe of lightning bugs.....all of this plus the comforts of home away from home in a perfectly appointed cottage. Even down to the iPod dock in the kitchen, which my husband loved, but I limited, since I so enjoyed hearing the water literally right outside the back door. Besides the fairytale like setting (all it's lacking is your Fairy Godmother), you are close to route 276 which takes you through the heart of the Pisgah Forest and breathtaking hikes to unreal waterfalls, kayaking, horseback riding, mountain climbing and the many environmental education centers to enlighten you on the history and current needs of this beautiful forest. 276 also crosses the Blue Ridge Parkway and this provides many more picturesque opportunities along with many more glorious hiking experiences. Continue following 276 all the way through the forest to Brevard and experience the hospitality of some of the sweetest, truly genuine people you'll ever meet. The Visitor Center located on Main Street is a wealth of information on the area. Last and most certainly not least, is Dupont Forest. Here you will find more beautiful waterfalls, hiking and swimming areas that are not as crowded as the ones on 276. Plus, the water is not nearly as cold! At the end of the day, after your many adventures in the forest amongst the waterfalls, moss and fern, you get to return to your magical, secluded cottage with a water symphony to serenade you to sleep at the foot of Cold Mountain. Sublime!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My husband and I wanted to get out of Charlotte for the weekend and this authentic and eclectic creekside cabin was refreshment at its finest. The surroundings were surreal and we enjoyed every ounce of the amenities--everything from the creekâs natural acoustics and towering trees to the fragrant landscape, fresh-picked flowers, and perfectly placed hammock. We welcomed in the crisp mountain air and slept with the windows wide open! We also loved that the property offered the option of a quick, close-to-home hike, but that the Blue Ridge Parkway was within our reach. This place was a rare and real weekend retreat for us!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.
