  My husband and I were looking for a quiet retreat for a few days. We chose Wold Lake because of the privacy and the beautiful surroundings. We were not disappointed! The home is gorgeous, rustic and warm. Everything a vacation home should be! Huge windows overlook the tranquil lake and the surrounding woods. The leaves were stunning! We only had 2 weekdays and didn't even want to leave the comfortable retreat! We walked, read, cooked and dined by the fire and kayaked. It was just what we needed! We will most definitely go back and enjoy more of the surrounding area as well. There are many great things to do and see within a short distance. Bravo and Thanks to John and Kathy for providing and sharing such a serene hideaway!

  We stayed seven nights at this very nice vacation home. The ammenities were as advertised and we had no problems. The area is nice for day trips with several nearby museums and restaraunts. We fished several nights in the pond, keeping track of the largemouth bass we caught on three nights. That total was 65. No monsters but all caught on ultra light poles with plastic worms. There are rock bass in the pond as well. A trolling motor is recommended. The home is VERY quiet and we were not disturbed by anything or anyone. We would definetly return next fall for another visit.

  A fantastic place to get away from it all and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the surroundings. It was everything we had hoped for as a quiet base for exploring the region. Use of the canoe, boat and kayaks was a bonus along with the deer and the wildlife. Although not easy to tear yourself away from the house and lake , it was only a short drive to visit the Finger Lakes for days out and explore the local region. Watkins Glen State Park with the waterfall gorge walk was amazing and the Corning Glass museum we would recommend. Niagra Falls was also a day trip out which was spectacular and not to be missed. The owners were extremely helpful in every way.

  My husband and I were extremely pleased with everything about our stay at the Hideaway at Wold Lake. We found it to be a truly tranquil,relaxing,and cozy home away from home!We instantly felt at home because the owners are warm, friendly people. We were going to go the the wineries close by but decided to stay in and enjoy the peace and quiet for most of the three days we were there. My husband caught quiet a few small mouth bass in the lake and we built a fire each night down by the lake. We loved it and we would love to come back again!

  Had a wonderful stay in July. Accomodations were excellent and the owners take pride in every aspect of the property.

  I work for a hotel in the finger lakes and really needed a break from a crazy 1st quarter of the work. I had heard of this getaway and decided to try it. We loved the getaway !! The house was very clean and the lake was gorgeous. We didn't get to use the boats or the beach because it was still chilly but we walked the lake and loved the scenery. Everything you need is there for cooking and having meals in. The only thing missing was cell phone coverage and I didn't miss it for long! They even had a sat dish so I could see my favorite shows and races. If I could stop looking at the lake. Definitly worth the time to walk the 4 mile loop. Be careful if you drive it since there are lots of deep ruts. Be sure to look for the windmills in the distance, what a wonderful sight. thanks for a great stay! Peacock's

  What a truly beautiful home you have! Charlie and I had a wonderful time catching lots of fish (Charlie got one with his first cast off shore) relaxing by the fire and enjoying trips around the wine trails. Thank you for making us feel so welcomed and for providing such a gorgeous setting for our 17th anniversary.

  A hideaway it truly is! We got lost on our way here and were almost disappointed only to be pleasantly surprised once we saw how truly BEAUTIFUL this place is! Very artistically done; the view of the lake is a very refreshing sight! The amenities, the quality of appliances lived up to our expectations. We are happy we took the chance of choosing this hideaway as our getaway resort! We absolutely loved spending our evenings playing monopoly by the lake. Kayaking was an experience that will stay with us forever!

  Brett and I had a wonderful time. Thank you so much for his birthday card, and I took your advice and his birthday dinner was great. Your chalet is absolutely beautiful & the surroundings are amazing. This place is everything anyone could ever need or want for a romantic getaway. We hated to leave, hope to come back again soon! Kayaking and fishing was great.
