Iceberg Cottage was a lovely accomodation that satisfied my every need. I started out my month staying in Scotland in the town of St. Monans. My front door opened out on to the harbour of this historical fishing village and I was greeted with glorious views of the Firth of Forth. Everthing I needed was within a fifteen minute drive and the character and ambience of the Fife region was utterly refreshing. The best golf in the world (including St. Andrews) was a short drive in any direction and I availed myself to all that I could. I could easily spend a month here just relaxing in the beauty and history. Totally rejuvenating! The owner could not have been more accomodating or helpful. Business wise, a real joy to deal with.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at St. Monan's. We chose the cottage mainly because of it's location. We wanted a place that would be close enough to Edinburgh so we could attend the Tattoo and see the city sights but have a quiet home base to return to and the Iceberg Cottage was perfect. It was a quick train trip back and forth to the city from Aberdour and beautiful evening walks along the water in the evenings. Thank you, Julia, for sharing this special place with us.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We have just returned to the Vancouver area from a super trip to the UK. One of our stays was in Iceberg Cottage St. Monans. Iceberg Cottage in St Monans,East Neuk, Fife, Scotland is a perfect jewel of a small fishing village cottage which is charmingly decorated, extremely clean and well equipped. Directions to and instructions for the use of the cottage were very clear and useful. We found having wifi very helpful. We both self catered and also had some meals at the nearby Mayview Hotel where the food was very good. There are many excellent coastal walks in this area, lots of interesting places to drive to and St Andrews is about 20 minutes drive. We will definitely recommend Iceberg cottage, in fact have already done, and look forward to returning on our next visit to Scotland.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

My wife & I stayed at Iceberg Cottage for two weeks, April-May, 2012. We loved the place. Everything you possibly need for housekeeping is provided. We liked being so close to the harbor and St. Monans provides a great location to explore the Kingdom of Fife. The cottage “stretched” some when our son and two grandchildren came for four nights; our son found the sofa bed was just fine, and the kids loved the upstairs bunk beds. Arriving in chilly weather, it took us a while to adjust to the UK electric heating system, but we figured it out. We recommend both the cottage and its location as an ideal spot for a two-week get-away.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

After a weeks holiday at Iceberg Cottage in the beautiful fishing village of St. Monans, we can say that we had the good fortune of having lived in Scotland in the deepest sense. This is due to the magnificent location of Iceberg Cottage, just steps from the harbor tides, surrounded by colorful scenery, rocks shaped by waves and wind and narrow streets leading up to the beautiful old church. In the village you can reach numerous golf courses, the beautiful seaside and countryside. There is a mini-market and a store of fresh fish, fresh and smoked. There are a couple of restaurants (one of which is a little 'dear ...). For a good beer and great pub-food you can visit nearby Elie (Ship Inn) or Upper Largo (Upper Largo Hotel). The Iceberg Cottage is small, but it has everything one would need. Furnished simply, very well-kept with great taste and comfortable, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. This is a good place to read a book while watching the fishing boats enter and leave port. The house is clean with a kitchen and cookware where one can cook and elegantly set up a meal for 3-4 people. In conclusion, we have lived a great life experience, as we wanted, to feel less like tourists and more "Scottish".Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

We stayed at Iceberg Cottage in St Monans and we found it is the perfect escape. Situated on the harbour front, the cottage is on the Fife Coastal path and gives easy access to the beach and harbour for beach combing and relaxing. The house is clean, light and airy for a nice comfortable stay. At night you can hear the sea outside the window. This is a good place to relax and unwind. Quiet and close to great seafood restaurants. We will be back.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We have visited Iceberg cottage a couple of times and are never disappointed. The cottage itself is well maintained, clean and with all the amenities that you require to make your stay enjoyable. With views looking over to St Monan's harbour and Firth of Forth it is well situated. Lovely walks along the Fife coatal paths linking other fishing villages, ie Elie and Pitenweem. There is an excellant fish restaurant in the village along with the village pub, and with a car, a trip to St Andrews is a must. Highly recommend at stay at Iceberg Cottage for a relaxing and stress free visit.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Last September, I spent the entire month at the Iceberg Cottage in St. Monans. The house is quite cozy and warm with everything you could want from home. It sits just off of the harbor, so the sound of the sea is always there to keep you company. The seaside trail is right out the door, and walking along the shore to the other villages for lunch or dinner or to ancient ruins was something I rarely missed each day. St. Monans, like all the towns along the Firth of Forth, is quaint and welcoming, and I count my time there staying at the Iceberg Cottage as one of the most enjoyable and relaxing times in my life.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

this little sweetheart was a pleasant surprise in a quiet fishing village on the fife coast. it was clean, uncluttered and well maintained. everything u would need was there: laundry, iron, a workable kitchen, and one can describe it as no bigger than it needs to be, and very comfortable for 4 or 6 ppl. easy drive to edinburgh, but we spent most of our time walking the coastline and exploring the other small villages on the way to st andrew's along the way. close by was a really good organic farm with delightful take home tucker and fresh produce, and the local library was also a fine place to spend a bit of time. we often walked to cocoa bean for a morning beverage, 20 or 30 minute walk northeast. i can recommend this property without reservation. very nicely restored and charmingly cozy.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
