This one bedroom penthouse accomodates 6 guests. The master bedroom has a king size bed with a euro pillowtop mattress, a 32 inch flat screen TV and DVD player. The master bath has beautiful marble shower, granite counter tops, sky light and a jetted jacuzzi tub.
The bunk room includes a 19 inch flat screen TV with a built in DVD player and a private bathroom.
The spacious living area has a pull out couch, plenty of seating, 40 inch flat screen TV / DVD player and sound system. The unit is elegantly furnished with a tasteful jazzy decor.
The kitchen boasts maple cabinets, top of the line Samsung stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and Travertine floors throughout the condo . It is fully stocked with everything you could need, whether there for a few days or a few months.
This penthouse is a end unit with windows galore....a great view no matter where you look! There are 3 balconies, the master bedroom has a view of the gulf. The living and dinning area has a view of the bay and the tropical landscaped pool and lazy river. The third balcony is on the roof top terrace with a view of both the bay and gulf. Loung roof top in the only private jacuzzi with wet bar in the Sandpiper complex. Plenty of extra space for entertaining and sunbathing.
Destin West beach and Bay (carribean style resort) is one of the newest and most unique on Okaloosa Island. In the middle of a lush, tropical landscape (bay side) is a lazy river ( the longest in the area) with a zero entry pool and 2 hot tubs. Fish from the bay, catch dinner and grill on one of the many BBQ's. Want to spend time on the beach? Just a fun walk over the SKY WALKWAY. While on the gulf side enjoy all the amenities it has to offer including a 5000 sq ft pool, state of the art fitness center and kiddie spray park. Guests at Destin West also have privaleges at the Ramada next door where you can enjoy their swim up bar and grotto pool (a must see) .
Okaloosa Island is centrally located near great restaurants, night clubs, water sports, fishing piers, waterparks, aquarium and the Boardwalk that has really fun bars and night clubs. Just over the bridge is the Harborwalk's fine restaurants, shops and fireworks every Thursday night in the summer.

My husband and I stayed in this penthouse unit for our honeymoon. When we arrived to the condo we were pleased immediately. The balcony overlooks the pool area which is one of the largest pool areas we had ever seen. The spiral stairs on the balcony lead you to the roof top that has breathtaking views and a large hot tub that is great either day or night, you control the water temperature. In fact one day we left the pool area and went to our "private" rooftop and laid out and got a very relaxing nap. We are so happy we found this unit. We would stay here again, again and again. We have even told our family about it as well as all our friends. Might I add, the owners are a true pleasure to deal with as well.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway.

This is a great resort for a family vacation with small children. The resort was a great place to enjoy our vacation as a family. The lazy river and pools is such a group pleaser. Our 5 year old was in heaven when she saw the pools from our balcony! The beach is a short walk across the street (covered walkway-never have to cross the street) with other pool selections and a spray park for young kids. We spent a day across the street at the beach and playing in the other pools. We spent many nights on the balcony as she played in the condo. The kids bed room have a set of bunk beds, a private bath and a tv. The condo was updated and clean. The kitchen has granite countertops and updated appliances. We felt right at home. There are many family, casual and beach front restaurants that are a short drive away. There are a few souvenir shops and Destin is less than a 10 minute drive! This condo and resort is a family pleaser! I would highly recommend if you are looking for a family friendly resort with a updated condo. The staff and all the guests were friendly. The resort pool is monitored for just Destin West guests, we felt safe and always welcome.Recommended for: Families with young children.

The owners have done a wonderful job renovating this condo. Everything was so nice and clean and we felt like a guest in someone's home. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need. The views are incredible. We enjoyed watching the sunrise from the balcony off the master bedroom, and we enjoyed watching the boats on the bay side from the living room balcony. Of course the jacuzzi on the roof top balcony is just an added bonus. Our family had so much fun on our vacation here, we would love to come again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.

My wife and I just returned from a three night stay in this unit. All I can say is WOW!!! The pictures and description on the listing just doesn't say enough. Everything we needed was provided and the location was excellent. Both Patricia (owner) and the Destin West staff were quick to address any concerns that we had. We certainly enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back! Thank you so much for making this unit available.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

Why the Owner Chose Destin West Beach and Bay Resort:
As soon as we found the Destin West we knew we found the place. Our daughter literally screamed when she saw the pool as my wife admittedly saw herself floating down the lazy river doing absolutely nothing. As for me, I planned on catching the biggest red fish out of that bay ever... and I still don't care how long it takes. From bay to beach, it truly has everything anyone could ask for from an island. We love to go to the Boardwalk (across the street) great restaurants, a park for the kids and night and comedy clubs. Our favorite restaurant is The Black Pearl, located directly on the beach with a great view and even better fish. The location on Okaloosa Island is perfect and within walking distance to restaurants, shops and activities.

This penthouse unit is our dream come true. From the time you walk in, you are taken in by the luxury and breathtaking views all around you. And just when you think you've seen it all, you take a walk up the spiral staircase and are awe struck by the view. No matter where you look you can see the natural beauty of the island.
In the mornings we sit out on the master bedroom balcony and drink our morning coffee and watch the sun rise over the bay. A wonderful way to start our day.
We spent many hours on the roof top terrace admiring the view during the day and as night time approached we would fill the jacuzzi and watch the sun set over the water. When the sun has set we would find ourselves gazing up at the moon and stars. A great way to end the evening.
