Although our weekend was stormy and rainy, the Sugar Shack was a wonderfully cozy place to relax. The atmosphere was so warm and inviting throughout, very clean and well-maintained. Between the hot tub, the fireplace, and the well-supplied kitchen, we wanted for nothing. We hosted an excellent Birthday Party for the four of us plus 8 guests, and had ample space for all to eat, visit, and enjoy the cabin for the afternoon. The fall colors were gorgeous, and the short walk to the beach was peaceful and pleasant. We would love to come back during the summer season for another stay a the Sugar Shack.

As soon as we entered Sugar Shack we knew we wouldn't be disappointed. It was absolutely perfect for our family. Beautifully furnished, super comfortable beds and the hot tub was wonderful to relax in at the end of the day. We loved having morning coffee on the front porch rocking chairs and watched the sun through the trees. Everything was done with comfort and convenience in mind. A short drive to the superb Oval Beach with the most amazing sunsets and pretty Saugatuck town with it's fabulous shops and restaurants. We loved it here and will be definitely be returning. The Owner was gracious and a great pleasure to deal with. Thank you!

The five of us really enjoyed our stay at the Sugar Shack. Everything was clean and neat. The beds were so comfortable! It was great to have plenty of dishes and tableware! The girls really enjoyed the hot tub. We played games on the dining table and also on the screened porch. We enjoyed looking out at the greener, and almost all the rooms had cross-ventilation so we could get a nice breeze. The main-floor bedroom and bath were good for my husband who has a leg injury. We could walk up to the Dune Rides and managed to go twice in one week! Thanks for a great stay!

Thank you for a beautiful cabin. We had a great time with friends and family, the cabin is really nice and clean, wonderful decorated, everything you need is there starting with the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. It was so good warming up next to the fireplace with good stories and laughs during winter but I bet is wonderful in the summer, too or any season. We will love to come back one day...

We've been visiting Saugatuck around the holidays for unique shopping since 1999 and Sugar Shack is our new favorite house of all time! Having stayed at both cabin neighborhoods at Goshorn Lake we loved Kitchen and bedrooms here they really set the home apart. Nice towels, soaps and even the lil shampoos! Beds are really comfy nice like a luxury hotel. Our 5 yr old said it would be nice to "live at Sugar Shack this summer" ha ha! We agree!! Owner gave restaurant tips and mailed back a lost item free of charge...who does that these days?

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this great log cabin in the woods - it's so cozy and inviting! The home was clean, tidy and well maintained. All amenities mentioned in the listing were available and much appreciated (the less to bring, the better). The location is great, just a short drive into town and a short walk to the lake. We really loved the wood burning fire place, it really added to that 'out in the woods' feeling. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone planning a visit to Saugatuck. There were 4 adults and 5 kids in our group and we had plently of room. Also, the owner is incredibly easy to work with and very accommodating. You won't regret your stay.

We had a wonderful vacation. The cabin is clean, beautifully decorated and fully stocked. The area is perfect for walks, bike rides, jumping in the lake, fishing. The beaches and downtown Saugatuck are close by and very easily accessible. The owner is great! Thank you!

This was the best vacation home we've rented in the Saugatuck area. My children and grandchildren loved the lake and trips to Oval Beach and downtown Saugatuck. The house was elegant, loved the decor and fully stocked kitchen. What was great was the short trip to town and easy for our cyclists. Want to go back and rent two houses for the rest of the family:Sugar Shack and one other only if it comparable to Sugar Shack !!!. The owner is great to deal with.

I recently stayed for a long weekend with 7 other friends and we had plenty of space for all of us. This beautiful home is nestled in a wooded area that still manages to get plenty of sunshine. There is also a private beach just a few hundred feet away that overlooks a peaceful interior lake. The best part is this wonderful oasis is only a couple of miles from downtown Saugatuck. The amenities inside the house are fantastic. The sheets and bedding are very clean and modern. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, glasses, cups and silverware--we didn't have to bring a thing! The house definitely lived up to the pictures posted. I hope to return to the Sugar Shack again sometime in the Fall to see the leaves change color.

Just spent a long weekend at the "sugar shack" with a group of friends, and had an absolutely wonderful time. The house looked exactly like the pictures, with the downstairs furniture either being antiques or brand new, and the beds upstairs being super comfortable. Everything else in the house also felt new, from the sheets to the towels to the kitchen appliances. As a result, the house felt very clean and modern. The neighborhood around the cabin is just about perfect. All of the neighbors were very friendly, and it was a pretty walk down to the lake and dunes. We then climbed up on the dunes for a beautiful view of the lake and surrounding area. Finally, what we really enjoyed about the house was how quiet it was. You couldn't really hear anything from the neighbors, and the whole area felt very peaceful. All in all, the "Sugar Shack" is a perfect vacation spot in Saugatuck!

We stayed over Memorial Day weekend when the weather ranged from severe storms and cool weather to sunny and 80. It was cozy & comfortable during the rain (it has everything one needs to stay indoors), and was perfect in the sun when we hung out at the gorgeous lake. The beds are very comfortable, which is saying something because I have back issues, the hot tub was a great addition to the screened porch, it is immaculate and tastefully decorated. I felt completely at home here and can't wait to go back!

An easy 2.5-hour drive from Chicago's NW suburbs. This home exceeded our expectations--everything was new right down to the luxurious soft towels. These owners haven't overlooked anything for their guests' comfort. All furnishings were top drawer. Loved the beds. Spotless Private neighborhood in a Northwoods setting with Lake Goshorn and private beach across the street. Fireplace added ambience. We stayed in mid-April but would like to return in summer to see the charming village of Saugatuck in high season. We felt this authentic log home was an excellent value compared to others in the surrounding area. Would highly recommend!
