All appliances are high-end stainless steel units. The kitchen features a 23 c.f. side-by-side refrigerator, a new ultra-quiet dishwasher, a self-cleaning oven with a glass top electric range, and an overhead convection/microwave oven. The furnishings include a large double dresser, wall mirror, and full-length door mirror. There is a quiet ceiling fan as well as an A/C window unit in this room.
THREE ADDITIONAL BEDROOMS:
There are three additional spacious bedrooms that provide sleeping for 6 with plush mattresses and linens. One bedroom has a queen-sized bed with a tall maple dresser and an end table. The two remaining bedrooms have two twin beds in each room and a night stand between the beds. One of the bedrooms has extra long twin beds. The other has a relaxing contemporary easy chair. Each bedroom has solid maple dressers with wall mirrors, a large closet with a full-length mirror on the door, a ceiling fan and A/C unit.
The main bath features a porcelain tub and Kohler brushed nickel rain shower head, and sand colored wall tiles accented with opalescent glass. The vanity has a Corian sink and counter top.

- The house is located in Seaview, a family-oriented community on Fire Island. There are life guards on duty along the beach front in Seaview, a block and one half from the house. There is also a bay beach with a life guard, a playground that was recently upgraded with new equipment, a bay-front pool, swimming lessons for children of all ages, including toddlers, a basketball court, and a baseball/softball field, with pickup games scheduled every Saturday. There are no additional fees for any of these activities, as they are included in the rental. There are also tennis courts across from the bay beach, which tenants will have access to, but for which an additional fee is required. The Seaview ferry terminal and Seaview Market are less than one block from the house, a two-minute walk. The town of Ocean Beach, with many fine stores, restaurants, bars, and a movie theater, is a ten-minute walk from the house. The Fire Island Synagogue is around the corner from the house. Catholic and Protestant Churches are also close by. From the house a pleasant walk can be taken along the beach to the Fire Island Lighthouse and Sunken Forest, run by the National Park Service. Fishing can be done from a dock in the marina at Ocean Beach. Crabbing can be done along the seawall fronting the bay. Surf casting can be done at the beach. There is also good surf at the beach for anyone interested in surfing. Fire Island has an abundance of birds and other wildlife that is sure to fascinate any naturalist. Weekends are pretty lively in Ocean Beach. Free public concerts are held on most Saturday nights. Arts and crafts fairs are also held in Ocean Beach on some Saturdays. There are no cars on the island, making it an ideal locale for children. We have three bicycles at the house, which can be used to take in many of the sights. ...moreless

Great week at a lovely home
Great week at a lovely home
We had spent many summers on Fire Island, and returned after a long hiatus. What a treat. Perfect location, a block and a half from the beach (short blocks), lifeguard on the next block over (setup on the quiet area of the beach at the end of the street. and walk 50 feet on the beach to the supervised swimming area), incredibly well equipped and maintained home with everything you need (beach towels, umbrellas, chairs, bikes, fully equipped kitchen), a lovely back deck and covered front porch (great for morning coffee in the shade). Really clean and updated house. Window A/C units (a real treat on FI) and excellent ceiling fans in all 4 bedrooms and the kitchen. The owners were incredibly helpful and accommodating. A 5 min walk to the ferry and the market, only a 10 min walk into Ocean Beach if you are looking for dinner or action in town, but a lovely quiet Seaview location. Highly recommended.

Pristine home that was very clean and comfortable. Owners were very attentive and made sure that we had a great stay. Outdoor shower and bicycles were also great bonuses.

Owner response: We are so happy your family enjoyed yourselves in our home! Thank you so much for your kind words. You were wonderful guests and we hope you return next year!
We were very pleased with our stay! One of the best features of this house is the loction. One minute from Seaview Market/Ferry and less then 5 minutes to the beach. Plus, it is very close to Ocean Beach town as well. The house is exactly as shown in pictures, and owner was very helpful. Kitchen is new and fully equipped. Great living space, with plenty of seating. The deck has lounge chairs, a large table and a cute mini table for kids. AC in all the rooms, plus new ceiling fans as well. Plenty of beach and bath towels, new and clean bedding. Wagons, bikes, beach chairs and umbrellas all there as well! I would recommend this house and will be back next summer!

I have spent many summers in Fire Island and this was the best house I have rented. The pictures accurately portray the interior and exterior. Kitchen is modern and fully equipped. The living room is very comfortible. The deck is in excellent condition with a great outdoor shower. Major plus- house is one minute walk to the Seaview market and the ferry which makes things a lot easier during your stay. And the house is maybe a 10 minute walk to Ocean Beach. The a/c units will keep the house perfectly cool. The week I was there was a beautiful one but extrememly hot. Without the a/c, we would have had a couple of uncomfortable nights. I totally recommend this house.

Why the Owner Chose Seaview:
This house was originally built for my husband's aunt in 1947 and has been in the family ever since. We undertook a full renovation in 2008-2009 including the building of an addition with a master bedroom and bath and a laundry room inside the house. The lot was completely leveled and graded this past fall.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Long walks along the beach to the Sunken Forest, a striking natural wonder; chatting with friends and neighbors on the beach, playing board games with family and friends in the evening, walking into town for ice cream, taking the kids to the newly renovated Bay Beach and playground, having a relaxing drink on the front porch or rear deck, finding bargains galore at the Seaview Market!
