Island Park cabin description
Look no further, this really is the ULTIMATE cabin for your summer or winter vacation! In November 2010, we purchased this lovely cabin (built June 2010) in beautiful Island Park, Idaho. It's just a 30 minute drive to Yellowstone National Park, but that's only the beginning.
Located in the center of the Island Park area you have access to fishing, wildlife viewing, and snowmobiling/four wheeling right from the front door. We have plenty of off street parking for your toys.
We have really gone above and beyond and have spared no expense to make our cabin an exceptional place to stay while offering an incredible value for your money!
Our cabin has a fully stocked kitchen with convenient appliances, including a full size washer & dryer inside the unit. You can relax with our gas stove, roomy bathrooms and attractive furnishings.
We have a king-sized bed in the master bedroom with an extra comfy pillow top mattress, a queen-sized bed in the upstairs bedroom, and two more queens and a twin in the loft. There is also a pullout couch in the living room downstairs. The dining room table is large and can accommodate up to 9. There is a fully equipped bathroom downstairs with a vanity & sink and a very roomy bathroom upstairs with a shower, we even provide the towels!
The cabin is stocked with everything that will make your stay comfortable and fun! We have a total of 2 TVs with DVD players (a 46' flat screen in the living room, and a smaller t.v. in the upstairs 'kids corner'.) We also provide a selection of movies for the whole family. The summer of 2012 we added Direct t.v. and internet service. Cell phone coverage is available.
Your kids will love the books, board games and toys that we provide. After a long day of having fun, you are welcome to use the gas grill on our patio, and make S'mores, sing campfires songs, and tell ghost stories around the fire pit.
We look forward to welcoming you!

This Cabin Had Everything!
This Cabin Had Everything!
We loved staying at Forest Haven and were very impressed with the cleanliness and all of the little extras it had. A variety of kitchen tools made cooking a breeze. Plenty of room for two families. A great getaway!

Forest Haven is just that!
Forest Haven is just that!
This little house in the big woods is great for grand adventures. Sleeping 14 people was no problem at all with some air mattresses and sleeping bags. The outdoor firepit was a definite plus, and the Internet kept us connected (perhaps begrudgingly- us... not the Internet) to the outside world. So close to Yellowstone and other fun adventures (e.g, horseback riding or tubing), it's great for the whole family... But it's secluded enough to be a romantic getaway! Can't wait to come and stay again!

We were a party of six adults (four of which are 20-somethings) staying at Forest Haven. We were delighted with the cabin, especially with the comfortable sleeping accommodations (and I must say the mattresses were great!). The kitchen was also fully equipped for all of our cooking needs, and we cooked often. The trip to the west gate of Yellowstone was as stated 30 minutes - and coming from a busy city where everything is more than 30 minutes, this seemed like nothing. We would definitely stay at Forest Haven again. Having a dog (black lab) with us on the trip, it was nice to have national forest trails close by to the cabin. Yellowstone really limits pets to paved areas in the park, so were able to take hikes including the dog without having to venture too far. The Box Canyon trail was one well-maintained trail that we hiked and were surprised at all of flowers still in bloom, the wildlife, and a small waterfall. The owners were always so wonderful to us and would respond quickly to any questions we had, especially before we arrived. GREAT STAY - LOVED IT!!!

Perfect Cabin for Our Family
Perfect Cabin for Our Family
Ahhh, what a welcome relief it was to arrive at this cabin! After traveling for several days and staying in typical hotel rooms, it was so nice to spread out! And being able to do laundry, have two full bathrooms, and eat "in" were bonuses! The cabin was immaculate and well appointed. Our cell service in the area was sketchy at best so hooking into the wifi was nice. My six year old daughter loved the toy box and we loved watching a movie from the wide selection of DVDs one night. There were only four of us but this cabin could've easily accommodated another full family. Of note: it takes 30 minutes to get to Yellowstone (and 30 back, of course) where you'll do more driving. This was our main attraction, so the drive did grind on us by day three but there's nowhere closer that would've been so nice. There's no A/C but the covered patio helps deter the sun and it gets cool at night so if you open the windows at night or early morning, it is bearable later (this was only an issue for us one day because we were usually gone all day). Boondocks restaurant--just down the road--is delicious.

We had a great stay here at Forest Haven- loved having a loft and separate bedroom for the kids at bedtime. We really enjoyed our daily visitors, Rufus and another dog, who played with the kids during the late afternoon. We enjoyed the fishing at Coffee Pot river, and being so close to Yellowstone was great. The beds were very comfortable, and loved being able to BBQ meals after fun days.

The cabin was everything I expected and more. Clean and cozy. Loved that there were so many snowmobile trails around. Do yourself a favor and eat at Boondocks which is right around the corner. My family will be coming back. Thank you!

Why the Owner Chose Island Park:
Our family loves to snowmobile, fish, ride 4 wheelers, hike, and camp. We also LOVE Yellowstone. After our third trip in one summer to the area, we decided we should buy a cabin so we can have a comfy place to stay each and every time we visit Island Park.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Our cabin was built in 2010, with new furnishings and appliances throughout. It has a fully stocked kitchen, complete with dishwasher, microwave and coffee pot. Full size washer and dryer are on site and ready to use. TV and DVD player in the living room, and also in the loft for the little ones. A DVD library, bean bag chairs, toys, and games, even a high chair and pack-n-play style crib. Doorstep access to MILES of trails (some say 400 miles, some say 600 miles... when we ride them ALL, we'll let you know for sure.) Trails are groomed for snowmobiling in winter, and accessible to four wheeling in summer. Many cross country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking trails are nearby. Over 50 awesome fishing holes, and rivers for the fisherman. Wildlife, such as swans, moose, deer, and other critters abound. Only 30 minutes from Yellowstone National Park for even more wildlife viewing. This really is the ULTIMATE cabin rental!
